as usually it's always nice to get an overview of upcoming titles. i do find the way said titles are divided in as questionable, it would make more sense to divide them by genre.

I appreciated this helpful sampler of upcoming titles to consider. James by Percival Everett sounds especially captivating. Unfortunately, there was only a summary blurb but not an excerpt for this title. I will likely continue to explore these handy digests.

Thanks so much to netgalley and Publishers Lunch for this buzz books for 2024!

This book had a lot of different new books coming out and I added a bunch to my list. I love knowing what to look forward to and there looks like a lot of new good ones coming out!

I find these Buzz Books very useful for finding out about upcoming books, and for weeding out some books that I thought sounded interesting - until I read a sample. This time, most of the books that interested me did not have a sample, which was disappointing. I also wish that there was a description of each book, not just the ones with excerpts. I had to look up each book on Goodreads to get the description. As a result of reading a large number of descriptions at once, I have a few conclusions. An unreasonable number of books involve two sisters, way too many of the protagonists are psychiatrists, and it will be a big season for family sagas. I keep the following record of what caught my attention, so I can refer to it later.

Books with excerpts:

Jennie Capó Crucet, Say Hello to My Little Friend
Abi Daré, And So I Roar
Peter Nichols, Granite Harbor
Terah Shelton Harris, Long After We Are Gone
Stuart Turton, The Last Murder at the End of the World
Essie J. Chambers, Swift River
Mary Annaïse Heglar, Troubled Waters
Joël H. Morris, All Our Yesterdays

Books without excerpts:

Percival Everett, James
Lev Grossman, The Bright Sword: A Novel of King Arthur
Peter Heller, Burn
Porochista Khakpour, Tehrangeles
Chigozie Obioma, The Road to the Country
Andrew O’Hagan, Caledonian Road
Joseph O’Neill, Godwin
Danzy Senna, Colored Television
Colm Tobin, Long Island
Lucy Foley, The Midnight Feast
Camille Boreas, The Material
Carys Davies, Clear
Yoko Ogawa, Mina’s Matchbox
Jen Silverman, There’s Going To Be Trouble
Joe Wilkins, The Entire Sky
Uchenna Awoke, The Liquid Eye of a Moon
Vinson Cunningham, Great Expectations
Sadi Muktadir, Land of No Regrets
Douglas Westerbeke, A Short Walk Through a Wide World
Ace Atkins, Don’t Let the Devil Ride
John Connolly, Instruments of Darkness
Michael Crichton, Eruption
Niklas Natt och Dag, The Order of the Furies: 1795
Joseph Kanon, Shanghai
John Marrs, The Family Experiment
T.J. Newman, Extinction
Douglas Preston and Lincoln Child, Angel of Vengeance
Emma Rosenblum, Very Bad Company
Riley Sager, Middle of the Night
Peter Swanson, A Talent for Murder
Kat Tang, Five-Star Stranger
Karen Valby, The Swans of Harlem
Steven Brill, The Death of Truth

I received a free copy of this book from the publisher.

As always, I tremendously look forward to each edition of Buzz Books and the Spring/Summer is particularly exciting to plan for summer reading.

This is my first experience with BuzzBooks, and I’ll definitely be keeping an eye out for the next edition! Easy to navigate between books, the excerpts and chapters give you a brief but enticing view into upcoming novels. It’s just enough of a preview to spark your interest. Not only can you find new genres or authors, but also getting this preview helps prevent requesting books you won’t enjoy. Thanks for providing this! I already requested 2 new books!

It seems the layout of the first part of the book has changed. It felt less organized and it was trickier finding titles. I preferred the older layout. However, there was still a good selection of book samples. I do wish there was more variety in the samples. Fir instance, the history and crime category didn't have any. Also wish mire of the samples were bigger name authors.

This is an interesting preview of upcoming releases for Spring and Summer 2024. It looks like this season is particularly varied in terms of nonfiction selections, and that there are a number of diverse voices being featured (I approve!). I appreciate these previews because they are often the first contact I have with upcoming releases (although I have been hearing a lot about some of these books for months, there are also many I had not previously heard of). I am not requesting many because I currently have a number of Netgalley reviews to catch up on, but I added a number of books to my list to pursue when they are released. Thank you for offering this service to the reading community.

This is a great collection of what books to look out for in the months ahead. It gave me some great books to add to my "to be read" list and some to look out for here on NetGalley. As someone who often finds books based on what others are reading or talking about, it was nice to have this handy reference of what's next in the publishing world.

Love this collection of excerpts of new releases. Really cool to see not just I normally read but ones I wouldn't normally look at. It was a very inclusive list so I love the representation. Some of my faves include:
Daughters of Shandong, Eve J Chung
Docile, Hyeseung Song
Facing Down the Furies, Edith Hall
Here After, Amy Lin

Buzz Books is such good way to check out new books that will be coming out.Get an excerpt - at least a chapter or two - voila! you now know what you want on your reading list. It is such a good way to check out all the genres and new authors - in fact it made my reading list much longer than I thought it would. Check this out and you will find a new story, a new aiuthor and may even find a new genre - Buzz Books makes it so easy to view new titles. Get one and look it over. You won't be sorry. Thank you to NetGalley for giving me the opportunity to view this and tell you and my friends all about it. Happy reading!!!

I really enjoyed this edition of Buzz Books 2024! I am particularly looking forward to Ali Condie’s The Unwedding so that sneak peek was fantastic. In general, my favorite section was YA. This was my first time hearing about The Girl With No Reflection and It Waits in the Forest. I’m now looking forward to reading them both! In the adult section, I was interested to read Docile, Bound to the Shadow Prince, and The Return of Ellie Black. Thank you to all the authors, publishers, and Netgalley for a free ARC in exchange for honest feedback!

This was fine, though I found very few books that I would be interested in reading, which was my main reason for requesting this.

This is amazing! Thank you NetGalley for collating this for us! I’m so excited for these upcoming releases, and to see them in categories, sorted out and with Summaries and Excerpts to book! I love that I get to try out new-to-me authors and/or genre with the teasers included here!

This is another great collection, the 24th in the series of book samples categorized by category. There are close to 60 books in the categories of Fiction, Debut authors, I started reading more debut authors this year and have found some great reads. There are a lot of diverse new voices in this sampling.

This is a great service and you should definitely check out these samplers to find your next great read! I'm looking forward to reading The Hunter's Daughter and Memory Piece which I found under Fiction.
