If you like MC reads this is a good one, but beware it is a cliffhanger. Oh did I mention it’s a shifter MC. Get down and dirty with the Maw of Mayhem MC.

This book was unexpected, but so exciting. I can’t wait for the next book to release. It’s a fantasy almost sci-fi suspense, with a healthy dose of romance. It’s definitely worth reading this book and the next. You’ll be hooked.

I'm sorry, but I somehow missed some connections in this book.
Nikky knows some of Grim's secrets, Kit shows up at the end, but I have no idea how everything is connected, I hope the next volume will clear things up

I actually love shapeshifter stories.

Very short. Entertaining, but not very erotic or romantic. More of a thriller/action with some sex included. More needed.
Looking forward to more of these.

I love a good MC romance and that aspect didn’t disappoint, the vibes were there for tough moody men who mostly have good intentions… mostly. Unfortunately the overall story wasn’t for me. For something under 70 pages I spent most of the time confused about who was shifting and into what and why that was bad. This may be a me problem or that I’m just not familiar enough with the storyline from other books.

If there’s a initial book I missed I would be interested in reading it to try and get a better grasp of this shifter world.

It was hard to understand what was really going on with this book. I could not get into it.

"The Maw of Mayhem" serves as a prequel novella, providing a hint of what is to come in the series without fully delving into the main story. While it's a quick read and effectively sets the stage for the first book, I found myself struggling with the character Grim and his treatment of one of the female characters. It was unclear whether Grim was intended to change his behavior towards her or if she was meant to be portrayed as the story's villain. Based on the novella's conclusion, it seems she may not be aligned with him. The portrayal of the female character made me uncomfortable, but I am still curious to read the next book to gain more insight into the characters and their dynamics.

Warning…this book leaves you wanting more! I wanted to keep reading but…alas…the next book isn’t out yet. The characters are intriguing and give just enough info to keep you guessing, waiting until towards the end to bring Kit onto the scene was an evil move because it’s just a tease of what’s to come. I loved the story but hate the cliffhanger. However, looking forward to the next one!

When I read the summary I thought this would be a book I’d enjoy. I was wrong. The writing of this was terrible. This book is only 4 chapters. I had to force myself to get through the 1st chapter before I decided to DNF the book. I would not recommend this book to anyone.

The Maw of Mayhem is a prequel novella, that does mean that you don't really get into the story properly, just hint of what is to come. This is a fairly quick read and it does seem to set things up really well for the first book in the series.
I did struggle a bit with Grim, I don't like the way that he thinks about or deals with one of the female characters. I didn't really get whether he was supposed to come around to her in the end or if she's actually the villain on the piece. Judging by the end of the novella, I'm guessing that she's not for him. I'm still not completely comfortable with the way that she's spoken about. Perhaps I'd have to read more to find out... I would be keen to read the next book.
