This was a fantastic, twisty mystery that will appeal to teens and adults. The suspense is well done and the plot is unique. Lots of people are doing podcast-style whodunits, but I loved the family element in this one. The teen protagonist is sharp-tongued and believable, and often funny. The family dynamic is believably fraught. The obligatory love interest is subtle and cute, not at all overbearing, and it moves the story along nicely.

Thank you NetGalley for the ARC. I shared this with some young friends and in my usually library book rec programs.

Wow! Holly Jackson had me suspended until the end. I love a good mystery where I am unable to predict what's coming. This is the second book of her's that I've read, and now I want more.

If you want to be entertained, grab this book and get swept away with Jackson's mystery writing.

Bel has lived for 16 years without her mom who disappeared from the car where two-year old Bel sat in the backseat. Bel has no answers for what happened to her mom, but she tends to believe that her mom intentionally abandoned her in the car. That's a lot to carry around with you as a child, preteen, and teen.

Just as Bel and her family are beginning to work on a documentary film about her mom's disappearance, Rachel (Bel's mom) reappears!. Bel is suspicious and basically wants her mom to go away, so life can go "back to normal"

So many pieces are being put in the wrong places until the last quarter of the book when the pieces start to fall into place. Jackson's imagination is wild!

Thank you to DeLaCorte Press for providing a copy of this book to me on NetGalley. All opinions are my own.

I was pleasantly surprised by this book! I initially started it a few months back but had trouble getting into it. I picked it up again the other day and ended up flying through it. I enjoyed the main character, Bel, and how brutally honest she was. She was definitely a flawed character and rather unlikable but it got with the story. I appreciated all the twists however I think the ending was rushed. So much was unraveled and it all felt sudden compared to how delicately the rest of the book was laid out. I loved the manipulation throughout the book and how everything eventually connected. Overall, I enjoyed this book much more than Holly’s other series! Looking forward to what she writes next.

The Reappearance of Rachel Price has to be one of Jackson's best books yet. Thrilling, gripping, and enthralling, I wanted to skip work just to be able to read this in one sitting. I was on the edge of my seat wondering what happens next, and it's been an easy pick to use for reader's advisory for teens looking for a mystery and familiar with Jackson's other work (or unfamiliar!). I highly recommend that everyone read this.

I love being immediately thrown into a mystery and not even getting a chance for explanation. From the beginning, we're wondering what really happened to Rachel Price as the documentary is filmed.

Incredibly engaging, and definitely difficult to put down. Once the reveals start, it goes from 0-100 in the blink of an eye and I found myself yelling "What?!" more than once.

I love Holly Jackson's work and how captivating the stories are. Definitely a different direction than her other books, in my opinion, but it shows how well she's grown as an author.

If you have read A Good Girls Guide to Murder and Five Survive by Holly Jackson, you know what a ride you are in for! This was fantastic, I had no idea where it was going the entire time and was completely invested until the very last sentence. We open up to a film crew filming a documentary of the disappearance of Rachel Price. Bel is a stubborn, hard headed main character who is the daughter of Rachel Price. But when Bel runs into Rachel stumbling back into her life, 16 years after they disappeared, everything that Bel knows and loves is completely flipped upside down. The Reappearance of Rachel Price takes a deep dive into the skeletons in the closets of a family, and makes you question who you can trust.

The conclusion of this story was mind blowing and whiplash inducing. There is no way to guess what was going to happen. I loved every moment of this book, and will always pick up anything that Holly Jackson writes!

I knew Holly Jackson was starting to become an auto-buy author for me, but this one really sealed the deal. I loved the intrigue behind trying to figure out the mystery, and the twists and turns along the way. I really loved Bel as a character, and seeing the way she and Ash learned to work together was very sweet (I really hope they wind up having a reunion of their own later on down the line), and when the big reveal came, my jaw was on the floor. That being said, I do think the ending was tied up just slightly too neat, but that's more of a personal preference than anything. So excited to see what she has for us next!

Bel lives her life under the shadow of her mom's disappearance 16 years ago. She is the only witness, but can't remember anything as she was only a toddler. Found alone in the backseat of her mom's car on the side of the road, engines on and heat going. She's ready to move on and stop being Rachel Price's daughter. When a film crew comes to do a true crime documentary on her mom's disappearance, she hopes this will finally put the story to bed and the suspicions of her dad being involved. Until the unbelievable happens: Rachel Price shows up on the side of the road, dirty, injured, and in tattered clothes. Now, Bel's whole world is turned upside down.

I was pretty confident I had this whole thing figured. Carter I figured out within the first few chapters, and I had my suspicions about a few things that panned out--though not quite the way I thought they would. Everything went so much deeper than I thought. Plot line twisted together and woven into a crazy story about family secrets and just how far people will go to cover their own asses.

I enjoy Holly Jackson's writing. I've read everything she's written all the way back to AGGGTM. Though that still holds its place as my favorite HJ book, this one is honestly a pretty solid second. It managed to surprise me and make me gasp despite guessing so e key plot points. Color me impressed.

Thank you NetGalley, Holly Jackson, and Random House Delacorte Press for this ARC

I started out not loving Jacksons books but this one was pretty good. I find most of her books very slow and I feel like it takes too long to get to the point but this one was a little quicker. it is also a little shorter than the rest of her books so that could be why but all in all I enjoyed it.

3.5* - This was a fun YA mystery/thriller read, although it took me a while to get through it. It’s a bit slow to start, but I honestly enjoyed the tension and character building in the early part of the book. Once things picked up, though, they really picked up, 0-100. I do think that some of the mystery dragged on a bit too long — it almost felt like the MC flip flopped on whose side she was on every chapter. And while the ending was wild, there were parts of it that were almost underwhelming in terms of neatly wrapping up the story. That being said, the mystery was compelling enough to suck me in and keep me reading to the end, which is always a good thing!

Book: The Reappearance of Rachel Price by Holly Jackson.
Narrator: Sophie Amoss
Genre: YA thriller/mystery

I forgot how much I loved YA thrillers/mysteries. At no point of this story did I know what was going to happen. What happened to Rachel? What happened to Bel’s dad? Who knows. Not me that’s for sure.

This book was a page turner from beginning to end. Love books that follow along like podcasts and or investigations of live events. This book follows a family where the mom leaves mysteriously when the daughters are young. Highly recommend. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

I enjoyed this book once I got into it. I will say it took a long time for me to really get hooked. I do love Jackson’s books so I was pretty confident I would enjoy the book if I stuck with it. She did not disappoint. Once I got into it, I could not put it down. There were so many twists and turns I was always wondering who the guilty person was.

For much of Bel's life, it's been just her and her dad, the haunting absence of her mother ever-present between them. Yet when her mother unexpectedly returns, it only sparks a flurry of questions, leaving them both more puzzled than before. The Reappearance of Rachel Price holds an intriguing premise, but the slow pace and protracted plot make the reading experience feel longer than necessary. The character development often feels superficial, and it’s only at the end that they begin to reveal any genuine depth, which ultimately feels hurried.

THE REAPPEARANCE OF RACHEL PRICE was fast paced and unpredictable, with a roller coaster of plot twists. It jumped out to a quick start and immediately brought me into the story with relatable characters. Really enjoyed unraveling the various mysteries and motivations and finding out the true story of what happened to Rachel Price.

Thanks to NetGalley and Delacorte Press for the opportunity to read and review THE REAPPEARANCE OF RACHEL PRICE.

I was very excited going into this book because I have really enjoyed Jackson's previous books, and I was not let down. I was hooked by this story from the very beginning, was following all of the twists and turns, trying to make my own guesses to the problem. I feel like I read enough thrillers to have a general idea of the killer, reveal, etc. I was not expecting the final reveal and I audible gasped out loud from shock. This is my first 5 star thriller in a very long time, would recommend to others, and I can't wait for Jackson's next.
