This is the second installment of The Worthington Legacy. The includes suspense and intrigue with a bit of mystery. Cassandra and Colin are from two different worlds, she from an impoverished one and he from a wealthy one. Despite that, they fall in love, but their union is threatened when others interfere, causing them to be separated. Over a year later, Colin comes across Cassandra, but she had ended up marrying his friend. But the truth is she was forced to marry the wrong man and now all she wants is revenge. She blames Colin for her marriage. Colin is still in love with her, and when he follows her home to find out why, he is attacked and injured and loses his memory, and Cassandra has no choice but to take care of him. As she nurses him back to health, her old feelings begin to resurface and she remembers why she had fallen in love with him in the first place.
A good portion of the story is told in flashback, looking back to what happened between Cassandra and Colin. There are some elements of mystery included as to why Colin was attacked, which adds some intrigue and drama. It was a quick, sweet and entertaining read with some plot twists that kept me interested till the end. A lovely addition to the series!

Marrying the Wrong Man

Cassandra was in love with one man, but she married another. Treachery and deceit changed her life forever. Did Collin deceive her and cause her to marry a man she did not love, or was there more to the story? Cassandra was angry with Collin, but was she not a deceiver, too? She was going to entrap him into marriage. Both Cassandra and Collin were wronged. Could they find the forgiveness they both needed? Would they get a second chance at love? I enjoyed this story and would recommend it to those who like second chance romance, Regency love stories, and surprising twists.

Low spice really clean regency romance. Main character Mary goes to humiliate this man who she loved before (still does now) Colin at his brothers wedding. They kick her out. Days later he goes after her and he gets struck in the back of the head and doesn’t remember anything.

This is an enemies to lovers , memory loss love story. I love the twists and turns and the surprising ending.

Her Dreamy Deceiver by Marie Higgins is a simple book, told partially in the past, to explain the present, mostly. Cassandra Talbot, Marchioness of Kentwood, was attending a wedding, uninvited, with the express purpose of exposing the crimes of the new marquess, the brother of the groom. It was something she needed to do for her own peace of mind. Cass was the daughter of an impoverished baron, impoverished by his own gambling and drinking. He expected her to make a good marriage so that his financial problems would lift, but where was she to meet such a man? Well, as it turns out he walked right up to her front door, along with his cousin. His name was Collin Worthington, the current marquess; she had been married to his cousin, the dead marquess. He had died in an accident because of his debauchery and drunkenness two days after they had wed. It was a convoluted tale, one he wanted to hear when he followed her back to her estate where he was injured by a rock at the hands of an unknown person. When he awoke his memory was gone. Then, she had to tell the story.

This was little more than a misunderstanding, one with huge consequences, to both of them, but mostly Cass. As Collin slowly regained his memory and heard the story, he was shocked at the deception. It broke her heart to be near him again. It was an odd mix of anger and love. Cass had relaxed into her new life as a widow, even sent money to her mother and sister, careful to see that it did not fall into the hands of her father. She had spent the year mourning what might have been. She had never had the respect of the servants, but all of a sudden she felt powerful and worked to gain their respect. Collin was shocked at what he had learned of his cousin and even more shocked to discover how it had happened. They were good characters and it was a heart-rending story. Both had much to explain to the other. The plot was a good one, helped along by outside forces. It was an interesting read.

The Earl of Hanover, Collin Worthington, runs across the woman he had wanted over a year ago, but she married his friend. Lady Cassandra Kentwood was forced to marry the wrong man, and now all she wants is revenge. But when Collin is injured and she takes care of him, she remembers the reason she fell in love with him in the first place.
The second book in the series & it’s easily read on its own. A well written book but much of the story is looking back to what happened between Collin & Cassandra rather than concentrating on how they get back together & move forward. There’s some mystery, some surprises as well as romance. I liked both Collin & Cassandra but didn’t love them. A quick read, which I would have liked to have been longer so that the characters could have been developed more

Her Dreamy Deceiver by Marie Higgins is a low spice Regency Romance where Charlotte, the widow of the former Earl of Hanover, humiliates her former love interest, Collin, the current Earl of Hanover, for ruining her life at Collin’s brother’s wedding. Collin, still in love with her, chases after her to learn why she blames him for her marriage when he is struck in the back of the head and loses his memory.

About half of the story is told in flashback and has a strong mystery component in regards to what happened between Charlotte and Collin that led to her marrying his best friend instead of Collin. The pair have a great deal of attraction to each other after a year apart and the moments between them are on the sweet side instead of the spicier side.

I would recommend this to Regency fans looking for a shorter sweet read and readers of historical romance who want a bit of mystery in their stories.

Slightly suspenseful, this romance abounds with lies, half-truths, and an embarrassing scene, but overall the feelings between the main characters remain firm despite a dark element. Setting out to publicly denounce the new Lord Kentwood, Lady Cassandra does not expect him to follow her home nor to be forced into taking care of him when he is severely injured. Little by little, the reason for her anger is unraveled and Cassandra is devastated when she comes to understand that both she and Colin had had the wool pulled over their eyes. Fortunately, their initial attraction for one another is enough to pull them through difficult circumstances and the novel ends on a good note. I received a copy of this novella as a gift through Dragonblade Publishing and NetGalley and this is my honest and voluntary review.

What more could you ask for in a novel? Romance, mystery, humor and sex all bottled up into one great read! I thoroughly enjoyed it!

A very sweet tale is told in this second book of the series. Cassandra comes from an improvised family. Colin from a wealthy one. They met by chance and quickly fell in love, but others interfered and they were parted. A good portion of the story is looking backwards while the rest of the story is in the present stage. Due to Colin being hurt, there is mystery included in this story as well as a few twists/turns at the surprising end. A very clean story that is wonderful for any high school age or higher.

I don't say this often, but I would have liked this book to be just a little longer. Half of it was devoted to the flashback of what had happened between Cassandra and Collin - I would have preferred it be more about how they reconcile and move on from past hurts. That part actually happens over just a few pages. Although Cassandra had to set her initial plan in place in order for the rest of the events of the story to happen, I was a little frustrated with her once I got the entire backstory. I did appreciate that she eventually comes to realize that some of what happened was her own fault - I hated that she was going to be one of those women who trapped a man into marriage - even though she really believed they could be happy together. It just seemed that since she and Collin had such a strong connection she could have talked to him about all of it. I still do not understand exactly what Stuart's plan was - at first I thought he was just wanting to make Cassandra think Collin had abandoned her, but then why would he tell Kentwood where Cassandra was? And why wouldn't he have kept a close eye on the situation to prevent Cassandra's father from finding her with Kentwood? And what exactly was Kentwood's plan for Cassandra in that cottage? Getting some answers to these questions would have been nice. I thought Collin forgave Cassandra a little too quickly when he learned she had planned to trap him into a marriage - it at least deserved more of a conversation between the two. In the end this book was just okay - not great, but by no means terrible either.
