In the fortuneteller by Natasha boydle we meet Simone and her best friends Helen Emily and shiv. When the story begins there at a fun fair and all decide to pay 20 Quid to see a fortuneteller. This is where Simone learns that she will meet Mr. right but should disregard him because if they marry they will have kids but in five years she will meet impending doom. Instead of disregarding Mr. Wright Simone instead disregards the fortuneteller after meeting and falling in love with Jude it isn’t long before she’s pregnant with twins. It seems everything mystic Maggie told her is coming true so obviously a tragedy will befall her and her family. She becomes obsessed with keeping track checking in with her husband multiple times a day not wanting her children to play and do normal children things because she fears the profits prophecy. She soon starts visiting other fun fairs but cannot find mystic Maggie is Simone and her family truly doomed or will Simone unintentionally self fulfill the prophecy? About 80% of this book is Simone fretting over what the fortune teller said finding week clues as to the doom she is expecting and the ending was shocking to me only because nothing in the book would lead you to think that was going to be the ending. I really thought this book started strong and was really good it wasn’t until 60 or 70% in that I was like well wait when are we going to start getting the close to the ending and then when you think you do… No you don’t. I gave it three stars because it is well written and truly intriguing but would’ve been even more intriguing with the storyline that leads to the ending instead we get an ending out of left field. I see most people like this book and as I said I didn’t like it just thought the ending came out of nowhere. I want to thank Boldwood books for my free arc via NetGalley. The fortune teller is an engrossing page turner with striking imagery and breakneck twists. The author has a crisp writing style which guides readers through this layered and innovative thriller. It was a treat to read.⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

his was such a fun, slow burn thriller that had an ending I did not see coming! I loved the character building in this one. I feel like we got to know them so well, while also maintaining enough mystery it kept me guessing and questioning who to trust. The first half of the book pulled me in fast, but the second half seemed to drag on a bit to me. I had to know what would happen, and I’m glad I stuck it out because that ending is NOT what I expected!

First of all, love the cover, it was what attracted me to the book in the first place. Love how striking it is. I really connected with the characters in this book and thats important for me. The story flowed easily and loved how different it was from other books Ive read.

I was really wanting to enjoy this book. The plot seemed interesting but I just couldn't get into it and it was a DNF for me.

The Fortune Teller is a twisty domestic suspense that explores prophecy, relationships and secrets. It is well-paced. There is a small cast of complex and relatable characters. The story revolves around a fairground fortune-teller's prophecy and how it affects Simone's life. Simone becomes increasingly unreliable as a narrator as her mental health deteriorates. I like the relationship dynamics that are believably written and create a menacing ethos. The suspense-building is good, and the concluding chapters have a couple of excellent twists. I like the believable characters, the tense but relatable relationships and the dilemma that drives the story forward.

This book was slow burn. I don’t know how many times I picked it up and put it down. I always found fortune tellers interesting and I thought the cover looked cool so I was interested to read the book. This book didn’t feel like a thriller at all. I’m a big fan of thrillers and this just wasn’t it. I got more romance vibes from it. I honestly found the book boring and couldn’t wait to finish it. I really dragged my feet on finishing this one. Plot seemed interesting but I just couldn’t get into it!

The Fortune Teller following Simone who meet and obsessed over one random Fortune Teller at a fun fair. Her life seem changing drastically into the bright future and also the risk of the fullfil of the prediction.

This is my first read from the author and I like the premise of this book. It is quite fast read for me because the story very engaging and the plot easy enough to follow. All characters seem generic enough but loveable. The mystery is burning slowly and gave me good tension. The suspens is keep me on the edge and care enough to follow our MC problems. I am just glad this story is free from all those paranormal mystic vibes and straight to psychology conclusions.

A group of 30-something friends are enjoying themselves at a fair when they see a fortune teller’s tent. Simone, 32, is told she will meet someone and will be happy for 5 years but that it will end badly.

Simone has found that rent in London is simply beyond her means and she is thinking of moving back home near her mother where she easily afford to buy her own home. That’s when she meets a man named Jude who intrigues her. After some time together, she moves in with him. Their love quickly accelerates and when Simone finds she’s pregnant, they plan a quick wedding. They are so happy and the birth of twins adds to their love and happy family. However, Simone finds herself obsessed with the fortune teller saying that after 5 years, her happiness will end tragically. This results in her doing nothing but zeroing on what could happen to her family meaning she could not relax and her life became nothing but fear.

I found this to be an intriguing story but was sorry that Simone let the prediction of a carnival fortune teller take over her life. I understand her fear but I also know that this stuff is pure nonsense. But as the story completes, we find out more and how someone has manipulated her fears. Enjoy!

A fun girl's night to a local fair will impact the lives of four strongly connected women.

Simone, Helen, Emily, and Siv decide to have a fun night out on the town, feeding into their inner child by going to the local fair. One stop at the booth of a fortune teller seems harmless enough. How accurate can Mystic Maggie be? Most of the women get a generic reading, easily done based on common life stages of a woman's life...career advancement, children, marriage. For Simone, Maggie is way, way more specific. Within the next five years, she will meet, marry, and have children with the love of her life. In five years, it will all go crashing down. Crazy, right? This prediction is too specific coming from a fair booth vendor. All the women go on with their lives, but things begin to come true for each of the women, some easily explained, some not so easy.

The book is centered around the Simone and her life over the next five years. As you go through her journey, you can physically feel her begin to unravel mentally. For those who deal with PTSD, anxiety, postpartum, or any other mental illness, this might be hard to read. Natasha Boydell did a great job really bringing the uncertainty, the panic, the breakdown of a previously strong and confident woman. The repetition of phrases, the interactions in relationships degrading, and more really drive this all home.

Around 75% through I was wondering how much longer I could handle watching Simone slowly break down, and then BAMMMMM! There are two, very, very shocking twists that happen at the end of the book. I thought I had figured out one of the twists, and I had piece of it right, but man oh man, overall I was wrong! The twists absolutely made this book. If you pick this book up and have similar feelings, please keep going. It is 100% worth it. This is my first Natasha Boydell book, but now I want to read more if her books have endings like this!

This book was with a very, very promising premise. It started out a bit slow, but then it picked up the pace and… yeah, and then it turned into a very good read, delivering exactly what the book promised it would be and then some more.
If you enjoy weird characters, paranoia, not being sure what is real and what isn’t – yesss, this one is for you!

In this book we meet Simone who gets a reading that concerns her that something is going to change in 5 years. We watch as Simone goes down a rabbit hole of paranoia just waiting for something troubling to happen. This was a bit slow for my liking but still a good read.

I kept wanting to see what would happen to Simone since the fortune teller told her that she would have 5 happy years and then... But anyway, I did feel I was wondering about Tom in this whole story. Was Mystic Maggie correct in her prediction? The ending I just said "oh", not sure I liked it.

The Fortune Teller was just meh for me. The premise was interesting and I was willing to go along with Simmy for a while. But eventually her neurosis was just too much. The wheels started to fall off about three-quarters through and the ending was an unexpected train wreck.

Simmy has been unlucky in love, but that is going to change after a reading from a fortune teller at a local carnival. The reader; however, came with a five year expiration. Simmy meets Jude, falls in love, and starts the perfect family. No matter what she can’t shake the fortune teller’s warning and goes on the hunt to find her for another reading. Time is running out and for her and her loved ones.

When friends go to a fair for fun they find a women willing to tell them their fortune. All except one has their fortune told and then they go to dinner and enjoy their evening. But one of their fortunes is starting to mess with their lives. As they each face the side of their fortune the friends deal with issues beyond normal friendship and marriage problems. But is the fortune to blame or someone else?

I was on the edge of my seat this entire book! I really enjoyed the different mix of who you thought was to blame and the feeling of never knowing what is coming around the corner. I was not expecting the ending at all and I think that is what made this a good book. I would recommend!

Wow! I could not get enough of this book. It capture my interest from the very first page and right up until the very last page. Thrills galore and it had a way that left me hanging. I could not put this book down. highly recommend!
