An interesting concept - for those not familiar, a Talli is a narrow shawl or wide scarf, worn by religious, Jewish males ie over the age of 13. It has long fringes which can be seen at times depending on what they are wearing. Always white, and if embroidered, then in white. It I used in prayer to help cover the eyes.

I found the writing style rather turgid. It needed some levity or shorter, punchier sentences. It seemed to be trying to echo the Regency novel style of literature, but didn't quite make it.
I got rather bored as the storyline moved slowly and the 'heroine' was lacking in personality.

A very fun time-travel book. Just the right amount of romance and mystery to keep you going through the adventure.

This book was so much fun! In the beginning it was a bit difficult to get into the book. It is the second book in the serie, but it was advertised that it could be read as a stand alone. After finishing this book I wished I had read the first book in the series. I loved the characters, but at first I didn't understand who was who and who was related to who. When I finally knew who was who I flew through the book. I loved the time travel aspect of the book.

I liked the notes at the beginning of the book with some facts and fiction in the book and the glossary. English is not my first language so I didn't know the meaning of a couple of words. It was nice to know them before reading the book.

Thanks NetGalley for a copy of this book!

Thank you to Netgally, the publishers, and Linore Rose Burkard

When I requested this book I was unaware that it was apart of a series, one that requires you to read the previous books for this one to make sense. I am unable to read all the previous books along with this one before the publish date. Therefore, I will rate this a fair 3/5 stars and will adjust the rating and review when I am able to read all the books in the series along with this one.

This was a great second book in the forever in the time series. It had what I enjoyed from the first book and had a great romance going on. It used the historical setting perfectly. And I love the time travel elements to it. The characters felt like they were from the first book and I never didn't enjoy reading them. I enjoyed the way Linore Rose Burkard has written this and can't wait to read more from her.

In "Forever Lovely," I found myself swept away by Margaret Andrews' unexpected journey from 1819 England to 21st Century Manhattan in search of her missing sister. Margaret's clash with modern life and her budding romance with Stewart Russell, a grad student enamored with early British female writers, kept me engrossed from start to finish. With its blend of time-travel adventure and heartfelt romance reminiscent of "Outlander," this standalone sequel offers a delightful escape into a world where love transcends centuries.

Lovely time travel romance.

This time the girl travels into the future to meet her sister and accidentally meet a guy on a Jane Austen conference. I liked the story and romance. It's set in Current time and Regency Period which is one of my favourite. It's more of a time-slip rather than time travel, as characters seem to be able to go back and forth in time.
I was a little confused in the beginning, as I didn't read the first book in the series, but it became clear later on.

This was such a great read! I jumped into the book without expecting much but was immediately impressed by the author's knowledge of the Regency time as well as the immaculate writing. I have seen a lot of Regency romance books that halfway through end up using modern terminology and was glad that wasn't the case with this one. Despite the frequent time jumps in the story, the tone and terminology remain consistent throughout the book.

I really enjoyed the way present day New York was described through the eyes of a person from the Regency era. It was quite entertaining, and I had a good laugh on numerous occasions. I loved Margaret and her enthusiasm for adventure. She's probably the most endearing character I have read in a long time. The romance between her and Stewart was sweet and the mystery surrounding the tallit made the book even more interesting. Although there is a lot of overlap with the first book in the series, I had no problem reading it as a standalone with all the necessary information provided to connect the dots.

Thank you NetGalley and BooksGoSocial for providing me with an e-ARC. I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Absolutely WONDERFUL, incredible book. It is fascinating to think what it'd be like to go back 200 years and experience the world then, while still maintaining all we know now. (And vice-versa, forward 200 years.) This book does both of those with absolutely amazing detail and an excellent, engaging, perfect plot. Absolutely perfect!

After the initial pages, I found myself not connecting with the story or characters, so I decided to pass on this book. Did not finish

This is Book 2 in the series and this one was much more enjoyable to me than the first. It takes a while to get into Ms. Burkard's style of writing, but when you do, it's an easy and fun read. I read a lot of time-travel as the main focus, but my only complaint about Forever Lovely is how the author made it way too easy for the characters to just hand over the tallis and they were instantly sent back to the present or the past. That's way too easy in my honest opinion. Otherwise, the story is enjoyable. Thank you for the opportunity to read Book 2 of the series in return for my honest opinion.

Easy read about time traveling romance. i never thought this would be something i would be into but the author did a great job at making it easy to understand. the characters were everything and if you’ve ever felt like you were an old soul horn in the wrong era this book is for you. its everything you could want from a book like this! i could definitely be slow at times but i feel this book had a way of pulling you right back in!

A time travel story that follows Miss Margaret Andrews from 1819 England to present day New York City, using a magical time-travel shawl. Being separated from her from Julian St John, she finds herself inadvertently at a Jane Austen conference. There she meets Stewart Russell who is studying early British female writers and due to the shawl, they find themselves drawn to each other. Yet Stewart is a wanted man and Margaret is determined to get them both back to 1819, before the unthinkable happens.
Whilst the premise is quite unbelievable, I found myself enjoying the light-hearted and sweet romance. It was quite interesting to note the differences in dialogue between the character between the two time periods and denoted how language has evolved. It was also great to see how simple inventions could change the lives of people, which is introduced early in the book.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book from NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

In the captivating pages of Linore Rose Burkard's "Forever Lovely," readers are transported on an extraordinary journey through time, where history intertwines with the promise of true love. The protagonist, Miss Margaret Andrews, a brilliant bluestocking from 1819 England, embarks on an unexpected adventure when she finds herself whisked away to 21st Century Manhattan. Her dream of becoming an inventress takes a backseat as she navigates the bustling streets of New York City, armed with her knowledge of Jane Austen's era and an uncanny ability to replicate the speech and mannerisms of that time. Fate brings Margaret to a Jane Austen conference, where she encounters Stewart Russell, a graduate student engrossed in the study of early British female writers. Stewart is instantly smitten with Margaret's charm and wit, but her claims of being from Jane Austen's day raise doubts in his mind. Unraveling the mystery behind Margaret's time travel becomes a pressing matter when Stewart finds himself entangled in a dangerous situation, with both their lives hanging in the balance. As the clock ticks, Margaret races against time to find a way to return them both to 1819 before disaster strikes. With each passing moment, her feelings for Stewart deepen, complicating her mission and forcing her to confront the possibility of leaving behind the man she has come to love. Burkard weaves a tale of adventure, romance, and self-discovery, set against the backdrop of two distinct eras. Margaret's resilience and determination shine through as she navigates the challenges of a foreign time period, all while grappling with her growing affection for Stewart. "Forever Lovely" is a testament to the power of love and the strength of the human spirit. Burkard's vivid descriptions and attention to historical detail bring the story to life, immersing readers in the sights, sounds, and emotions of both Margaret's time and the modern world. With its intricate plot, lovable characters, and heartwarming romance, "Forever Lovely" is a must-read for fans of historical fiction and time travel adventures.

I appreciate NetGalley and the publisher for granting me access to this book, but in full transparency I decided to DNF this book once I was 20% into the book. This book is marketed as a stand alone book, but I felt that I would enjoy it so much more if I read the first book first.

Forever Lovely is beautifully written, and holds a lot of promise. I wish there had been more back story explaining how time travel was possible in the beginning pages.

If you are able to overlook not knowing the whole backstory, and being content with the story in front of you, I would suggest you jump into this book. If you are the type of person that needs a good backstory to explain situations, then I would suggest you read the first book first.

If you are a fan of Jane Austen you will most likely enjoy this book as well. It is written in a similar, but more modern style. There is a sweet humor in within the pages that I just adored!

I look forward to picking up this book again.

The author says it's a standalone but it's really not. Even though there are 4 years in between (in real life), the first book sets the base of this book. By 7%, I'm really annoyed with St. John. Margaret and him came to NY for her, not for him, but he keeps shorting her time (what she wants to check out) because he wants to do something else, like ride his Jaguar... I didn't understand how Russell, who studied and lived in the 21st century, didn't know English still had peerage and lived by it. I liked Margaret and Stewart's story; it was cute but there are over-the-top problems that could have been more believable. There is a HFN, albeit no HEA. We have no idea what happens to them and how the ton received him. There are multiple duplicates within the book and within the series; repeats that we did not need - some up to 5x-6x. In this book too, the verb tense is wrong (have forgot vs. have forgotten). I received a free copy and I'm willingly leaving a review.

Forever Lovely, A Regency Time-Travel Romance by Linore Rose Burkard. Forever in Time #2. BooksGoSocial, 2023.

A lifetime of criticism from her older sister leaves 18-year-old Margaret Anderson without confidence in her own ability to ever attract a husband. Facing life with no way to support herself when her father’s estate passes to a male relative, Margaret persuades her time-travelling cousin to take her from 1814 England to present day New York. Margaret intends to identify some simple but appealing thing she can take back with her, then claim to invent.

The mechanism of time travel is a special shawl. Four characters are sharing it in this story, so the events and details surrounding its use take up quite a bit of this book, unlike many others I’ve read where what causes slipping through time is hazy or not discussed at all. This is a pleasant, simple story.

✨ my first time reading a time-travel romance sprinkled with a dash of mystery and I’m surprised by how much I enjoyed it ✨

I’ll start off by saying that if you haven’t read book one in the series then please do! Even though this can be read as a stand alone, it will help build up characters and the world you’re about to be thrown into more clearly. If you’re a fan of suspense then this book definitely does the trick, jumping from the 21st century to the regency era really made for an enjoyable and captivating read and the characters absolutely held my attention. I love how Linore wrote Margaret to be so relatable and then when we read about her experiencing new things and overcoming obstacles to find love, it makes it even more heartwarming and endearing. This book features adventure, sacrifice and love which will make you want to keep on reading 💫
