Man oh man... Where do i begin.
Lets start with a rating 3.5 ⭐️ rounded down 1.5 🌶 .
This started off superrrrrrr strong to me. Two families of con artists breaking away from their parents for a normal life, and getting a new Ritchie Twins Core Six?!?!? I was intrigued as hell.

Somewhere along the way though, i fear we lost the plot. The first 40% of the book was spent talking about the "Job that shall not be named" and then when we find out what actually happened (while yes it was bad) I don't feel like we got the development we needed after the fact for it to have been such a HUGE part of the beginning. Similar sort of feeling about our MC's Phoebe and Rocky have always done cons together and have been everything from siblings to divorcees. BUT you know from the very start that these two have feelings for each other. At first, the tension and the ANGST was slayingggggg, and then they just gave in ???? QUESTION MARK. what happened to all the we can't do this??? And while I might not have been the happiest about it we had the perfect set up for a love triangle and I think it wouldve fit very well. So yes pacing was my biggest issues. Also the smut was really choppy. I do think it was on par with addicted/calloway but something about it just felt idk weird. The rating is still high though because despite all this I did really enjoy the story line and It was good enough for me to want to read the next book but there was something I cant exactly put my finger on. I still think there is potential here and with "plot twist" from about 80% definitely left me with some questions. I am hoping that the second book picks up!
Thank you to netgalley and the publisher for an eARC in exchange for an honest review.

"Dishonestly Yours" follows the story of Phoebe, who is seeking to embark on a new honest life after a lifetime of family scams.
It feels great to dive into something new from the Ritchie sisters. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book; it's a captivating story. I'm already completely invested in this family and eagerly awaiting for the next book in the series.
I loved getting to know Phoebe and Rocky; their relationship is filled with affection, protection, and plenty of sexual tension. They have a great dynamic, and I was constantly on edge with their back-and-forth.
I highly recommend it; the story flows incredibly well, and the series has great potential. I'll be back with a longer review closer to the publication date because I have a lot to say, but I'm definitely craving more.
Thanks to NetGalley and Berkley Publishing Book for the opportunity to read this ARC! 💗

I received this as an advanced readers copy from NetGalley. As some of my favorite authors being able to read Krista & Becca Ritchie was amazing. The plot buildup was amazing and left me waiting for more. Everyone will find a character to relate to regardless of how they feel about the main character! It definitely reminded me a bit of bonnie and clyde and has a spunk of curiosity through out the whole book. overall very happy. gave it a 4.5 rating and would definitely recommend to other!!!

🍓 what to expect:
— con artists
— small town
— childhood friends to lovers
— best friend’s brother
— she has a love of strawberries
— found family
— mutual pinning
— it’s always been you
— forced proximity

MY HEART!!!! Dishonestly Yours starts off a brand new book series by K&B and makes you fall in love with a whole new set of characters with a lot of found family that most of us loves when it comes to their previous work.

Phoebe and her childhood best friend Hailey has always only known the life of con artists and now it’s time for them to try and put that past them. They decide to move to a small town in Connecticut to get their fresh start but they’re joined by Hailey’s older brother Rocky who Phoebe has a history with. Rocky is not planning to keep on a straight line as the girls are and that makes it a little difficult for Hailey and Phoebe to move on.

If you love small town, mystery and the opportunity to read about two con artists who are soulmates then Dishonestly Yours is for you. Phoebe and Rocky’s relationship is one for the ages for if you ask me and they are for sure a couple that now lives in my heart. But their relationship is also complicated since they have lived a hundred lives due to growing up as con artists. They have been friends, lovers, enemies, siblings and even married. That’s what they had to do to sell whatever lie and con they were running.

There’s angst in spades and if that’s something you love in romances then you’ll be happy and there’s also a lot of jealousy between them since they’re pinning for each other. Phoebe and Rocky have known each other since birth which means they know everything about each other and therefore they con and deceive everyone except each other, since that’s like a sacred line for them.

The twists and turns at the ending will leave oh so speechless, shocked, mad and also in tears. Phoebe’s one of the strongest people I have read about and I will forever have her back. This is THE book of the year. Get ready for July 2 is all I’m gonna say!!!! And get your tissues ready ladies and gentlemen!

4.75 stars!!! I adored this oh my god. from the second I started reading I was completely invested in Phoebe and Rocky’s dynamic. their push and pull was done is such a way that I wasn’t bored or rolling my eyes at any point.

I think the world of conning had the potential to be really corny but it wasn’t at ALL. I looooove that they’ve chosen to explore it! the sibling dynamics are also such a KBR staple and they were done soooo well here. genuinely had the best time.

I didn’t know it was a cliffhanger tho and now my feelings are hurt that I’ll have to wait a million years to keep reading!

This book really intrigued me and I was so excited to read it. Unfortunately the book fell short for me, there were some things that felt unbelievable to me. But I will say that I have hope for the series and I am looking forward to the rest of the series.
Thank you for the opportunity to read this book!

This book kicks off a very unique series. If you've read or heard of Krista & Becca's book you'll know they write very long series that follows the same set of characters over multiple books. Well, Dishonestly Yours gives us the chance to fall in love with a set of brand new characters.

This book starts with one of our main characters, Phoebe Graves, and her best friend Hailey Tinrock moving to a wealthy coastal small-town. They're trying to do what seems like the impossible, get away from their con-artist families and the only life they've ever known. After their last con went terribly wrong, they decide to flee and live a normal, boring life in Connecticut. On the surface this town seems to be filled with spoiled, but harmless, aristocratic families but over the course of the story we start to uncover that some in this town are keeping big secrets.

Our second main character, Hailey's older brother Rocky Tinrock, decides to go with them. This man is angry, jaded, and bitter. All he's ever known is conning and protecting his siblings and friends from the dangers of it which has left him disillusioned. Phoebe is her own brand of protective. She always needs to make sure she's pulling her weight on jobs, often as a honey trap, which always leaves her with a layer of anxiety just underneath.

This story is told from both Phoebe and Rocky's POVs and their relationships is complicated. They've lived a hundred lives due to growing up as con artists. They've been friends, enemies, siblings, lovers, married. Whatever lie was necessary to sell the con they told. When I say this romance was angsty please believe me. And if you're someone who loves to see characters show jealousy, you'll find that here in spades. These two have known each other since birth which means they know everything about each other, they will con and deceive everyone except each other. Yet they've never been able to be honest about how they feel to anyone, they've never lived anywhere longer than a few months, and no one knows anything real about them besides their siblings. Their chemistry practically leapt off the pages and anytime they were in the same room I was yelling at them to just kiss.

Speaking of siblings, is a KB book real if there aren't siblings you could obsess over? Phoebe and Rocky have 2 siblings each, plus they meet some interesting new friends in town. Every single one is so unique with their motivations, I dare you not to fall in love with at least one of them.

The twists at the end of the book will leave you cursing these authors and begging them for answers. Dishonestly Yours does a perfect job of setting up this town and characters and by the end leaves you with so many burning questions. Thankfully we have 2 more books to look forward to!

The Ritchie authors are back and cooler than ever with this new series! I am so glad to see they have introduced a new series with Dishonestly Yours, moving away from their previous Calloway and the second generation families. FINALLY urgh.

Anyways. This book. In this, the grifter concept in it made the characters unique and the plot intriguing, with Phoebe as a seductress and protector of her best friend Hailey, and Rocky as cool but hanging by a thread. The love and tension between them added depth to the story. The siblings of Phoebe and Rocky also played significant roles in the narrative, creating a close-knit group dynamic similar to the previous series.

And the romance guys, oh my god! wow! The friends to lovers romance was addictive, angsty, and messy, with morally grey characters that kept the reader invested. And the coastal town setting and rich inhabitants added to the summer vibes of the story. The unexpected twists and cliffhanger ending left me eagerly anticipating the next book in the series!! Really recommend it!

Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for the arc!

I really liked Phoebe and Rocky’s dynamic with each other. A couple that wants to be together so bad and has so much chemistry, but won’t get together for familial and other reasons.

I also loved Hailey’s character, she was such a good best friend even if she did mess up at times (but don’t we all). I also loved all the siblings we meet in this book, and I can’t wait to see them get devolved more in the next book.

This book was a rollercoaster, especially with the last 10%. I just have so many questions about the next book in this series (or will it be a duet, idk).

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for providing me with the ARC of Dishonestly Yours! I want to start by saying this book sounded SO fun to me. Best friends escaping their life of conning - which they were born and raised into - sneaking off to a wealthy Connecticut town to start new? Love that. Hot brother? Amazing. Trying to fight the itch of flat-out robbing these awful rich people? I'm obsessed. There was also a really steep plot twist introduced in the last couple pages which I actually really want to know more about.

Unfortunately, I think it wasn't executed that well. I stopped reading several times because of how ridiculous and unrealistic the interactions were The main characters stick their tongues out at each other. Phoebe, the MC, constantly says things - or lies - that she immediately cringes at, which made it hard for me to believe she's a professional, life-long con artist. The first few scenes with their landlord were so absurd and random that I kept rereading to make sure I wasn't missing something. It really took me out of the story and felt a lot like rewriting the same tropes, lines, and scenes embedded in every romance, even if they didn't make sense in this context. Not to mention the cons they flashback to didn't make a ton of sense or give off brilliant-con-artist vibes.

For fans of KBR, this one will probably hit for you. The romance was steamy and angsty and juicy. Sadly, the rest of the plot was just a little too flimsy for me to lose myself in. I'll still recommend to a lot of friends, it just wasn't for me.

Readers of The Ritchie sisters will find this has a similar vibe to Addicted/Calloway sisters and Like Us in the family ties. It does stand on its own and is definitely a unique story. Get ready for a cliffhanger too.

*I received an ARC from Netgalley. My review is my own.

clearly, the ritchie sisters have a fondness for crafting entire series around lovers who have known each other all their lives and I have no complaints. similar to their famed lily and loren, phoebe and rocky have heaps of history and little idea of how to actually be together. as children of con artists, the pair are equipped with unconventional skills, complicating their undeniable connection. in dishonestly yours, the pair, alongside hailey, phoebe's best friend and rocky's sister, look to leave the world of conning behind following a job gone wrong. but when lying and scheming feels as natural as breathing, committing to a normal life won't be so easy.

honestly, before the 40% mark, I was a bit skeptical of this story. previous to that point, the premise felt a bit dramatic and hard to believe. the characters read younger than the advertised mid-20s, creating doubt in my mind that they could con with any success. but certain flashback chapters shifted my impression, showcasing just how capable they truly are, crafting dangerous operations and walking away with tons of money. as the pressure and tension heightened, as their families began to ask questions, I couldn't get enough of dishonestly yours. overall, this book serves as a quality start to a series I have high hopes for. not only is the cover gorgeous, but the twists and turns introduced in the closing chapters felt so thrilling. this is a messy tale that really hit its stride in the second half, centered around an unconventional romance. as distrust between our main characters, rocky and phoebe, and the people who taught them all they know, their parents, reaches a breaking point in the final pages, the stage is set for what will hopefully be an exciting next installment.

thanks to berkley and krista & becca ritchie for the advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.

Mastering the art of looking rich, stealing money, and never getting caught are the hallmarks of every good family. At least the families that Phoebe and Hailey grew up with. Everyone is in on the con and that is the way it always will be. Until Hailey decides that she wants out!

Phoebe understands the dangers of the con and constantly craves the adrenaline high, but the last mark may have cost too much. She agrees to try to go straight, and the girls hightail it to a small east coast town.

If you love the Mentalist and Party of Five with some spicy romance thrown in, this is definitely a read for you. Although part of a large family, these kids raised themselves in between jobs. They are more loyal to each other than to either set of parents. With all their extra special talents, the reader understands the desperate measures their parents will take to keep them close. Characters are fun to watch trying to fit into "normal life", and the plot is fast moving. My only complaint is that the next book is not out right now! Can't wait for more. 4 out of 5 stars and 2 hot peppers.

like most reviews, i was excited to start something new from the ritchie sisters after absolutely loving the addicted/calloway sisters series. a book based on the children of con artist families, trying to start anew and leave their life of crime behind? color me intrigued. that being said, i thought dishonestly yours was a solid start to the series.

the writing for the first 30-40% of the book was a bit clunky and didn't immediately grab my attention. as we get to know phoebe and rocky more, it got better. their push and pull dynamic, though frustrating at times, really speak to their undeniable connection and soulmate like bond. their relationship reminded a bit of lily and lo. the flashback scenes were great and really serve to explain the dynamic of the families and how they went about their cons. there are found family elements, a country club aesthetic, the angst-est of angst and just overall really interesting characters that i hope to learn more about in book 2.

thank you berkley romance for the e-arc in exchange for an honest review!

4.5 Stars
I'm probably in the minority when I say this, but I have been waiting for Krista and Becca Ritchie to leave behind the Hale/Cobalt/Meadow families for years and give their readers something fresh and new. I know they haven't left them for good, but it was nice to get the start of a new series with Dishonestly Yours.

Dishonestly Yours had me hooked from the very start. I was a little worried I wouldn't love the grifter concept, but it made the characters in this book unique, and the plot interesting. Phoebe was a seductress but also the protector of her best friend Hailey. She was tough and adaptable while trying to hide her big emotions. Rocky came off cool and collected but was always hanging on by a thread. I ached for these two. The love and affection they had for each other always had to be contained and it made for the perfect amount of tension and angst. They needed to be able to finally be together. There was a lot trying to push them together and pull them apart in this book. It was a ride with all the revelations and twists that came.

Phoebe and Rocky's siblings were along for that ride. Best friend Hailey was a goth girl who came across as surprisingly timid. She was also Rocky's sister. They also had a younger brother who makes an appearance. Phoebe has two older brothers: Oliver and Nova. They were along for part of the ride as well. These six were a close-knit group (think Hale/Cobalt/Meadows style).

There are a lot of other things I want to say about this book, but I would be giving everything away. Instead, I'll end with a few more comments. The Ritchie twins gave me another addictive friends to lovers romance that was angsty and messy. I was completely invested in all of the book's characters and the fact that they were morally grey only added to that. I loved the summer vibes of the coastal town and its rich inhabitants. The twist and turns this book made surprised me when I was least expecting it. And that cliffhanger... I need the next book NOW.
