So this was my first Gage Greenwood and I was really excited for it. I received an ARC from NetGalley and am leaving this review voluntarily.

I really enjoyed this book. The themes of grief are heavy and Mr. Greenwood can write gore artfully. The characters were mostly fleshed out well and I really enjoyed Charlie and Tiffany. The story moves quickly and definitely will have you hanging on.

There were a few aspects of the story that felt a bit unfinished so my main complaint with the book is it could’ve been longer. The folklore surrounding the evil was interesting but felt like an afterthought at times. There were a few situations I expected a more fleshed out explanation from that never came.

Regardless, this was an awesome book. I absolutely look forward to more books from this author in the future.
