An interesting story figuring out a death of the lead characters sister , a blackmailer, . I kind of suspected the solution but it kind of slowed down near the end. I was skimming a lot of his thoughts.

Dan Clark's What She Knew is a gripping domestic thriller that unravels the secrets hidden within a seemingly perfect marriage. When Tom Pearce stumbles upon a long-lost object, he is thrust into a whirlwind of suspicion and uncertainty regarding his wife Amy's behavior. As the couple grapples with the fallout of this discovery, tensions rise and secrets emerge, leading to a dramatic climax that will keep readers on the edge of their seats. Despite some minor flaws in dialogue and narrative pacing, the novel's compelling characters, taut prose, and shocking twists make it an engrossing read from start to finish, leaving readers eagerly anticipating Dan Clark's next offering.

What She Knew was an intriguing thriller with great anticipation for the next twist! This fast pace thriller uncovers secrets to a seemingly perfect marriage which take a lot of twists and turns. I experienced a roller coaster of emotions throughout the entire book! The characters are very personable , and the plot was well built! This was my first time reading a book written by Dan Clark, and I thoroughly enjoyed it! I look forward to reading more books by Dan Clark in the future!

Many thanks to NetGalley for this book in exchange for my honest opinion.
This was my first book from this author, so I wasn't sure what to expect.
I enjoyed the short chapters and the descriptive writing style.
I also enjoyed the story being told from the dad/husband perspective (typically books I read are female POV).
However I wasn’t drawn into the plot as much as I hoped.
I felt there was a bit of repetition and found myself drifting.
I did enjoy the twist, and did not guess the ending.
This was good but not great for me.

I struggled with this book a bit, as I thought the conversations between characters didn’t ring true, and a lot of the narrative is repetitive internal dialogue. The story centers on Tom and Amy, who have been happily married for 20+ years when he uncovers something unexpected, which causes Amy to clearly hide secrets. The story is told entirely from Tom’s POV.

The book is told in short chapters, which makes it an easy read, but the dialogue between characters and the complete turnaround in Amy’s personality just seemed unrealistic. There was also a whole huge argument scene where Tom accuses her of lying to him and never once asked why she feels the need to keep the secret. She probably wouldn’t have told him, but still….. I did guess the twist early but it made sense. The ending of the book was ok but I was still left with some outstanding questions when it all was said and done.

Overall, this wasn’t my favorite but it was a fairly quick read with a decent storyline. Thanks to Netgalley for providing me with a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

What She Knew is a fascinating read that will keep you glued to the pages. Dan Clark crafts a superb domestic thriller that uncovers the hidden and twisted secrets of a seemingly perfect marriage.

The book is an emotional roller-coaster, with short chapters from Tom’s perspective. The characters are believable and likeable, with motives and emotions that make you care about them. The writing style is smooth and vivid, with descriptions and dialogues that create a tense and suspenseful atmosphere. The twist at the end is foreseeable, but satisfying.

This is my first time reading Dan Clark and I was pleasantly surprised. I’ll be sure to check out more of his books.

This is my 1st book from this author, so I wasn’t sure what to expect. I enjoyed the short chapters and the descriptive writing style. I also enjoyed the story being told from the husband/fathers perspective (typically the stories are read in the female POV). I however didn’t get drawn into the plot as much as I hoped. I felt there was a bit of repetition and found myself skimming the story to get to the “new” parts and information. I did enjoy the twists, and hadn’t guessed the ending.

What would you do if the person you thought you knew and loved may not be the person they claim to be? What lengths would you go to uncover the truth? A fast-paced domestic thriller that will keep readers turning the pages, Dan Clark stuns again with his latest book, "What She Knew". Perfect for lovers of jaw-dropping twists and endings. Read with a friend, because you will want to discuss.

What She Knew is a complete mystery from the beginning that keeps you guessing. From a lying wife to murder, this book has an incredible plot and story. I really enjoyed the storyline and the twists in this book. It just kept taking turns! I will say, personally, there was a lot of repetitive description. I do think there could’ve been a little less of that, but otherwise I enjoyed the book! 3/5

The Review:

A big thank you to netgalley for giving me a free copy of this e-book!!

This book was a fast read that was thoroughly enjoyable! The main characters, Tom and Amy, were your everyday run-of-the-mill, likable couple. The author did a great job creating characters throughout this story who were endearingly relatable for the reader.

I want to be very careful not to give away any spoilers, so it's difficult to say a lot about the storyline. As I read, it felt like the mystery was solved fairly early on. And yet it seemed like there were still too many pages left in the book. Little did I know, the author had plenty of twists and turns ahead for the readers. I really do want to save the surprises for you if you've not yet read this, so I won't say more... But I really do recommend this book if you're looking for a fast-paced, suspenseful, quick story to read in one sitting.

This was a super-fast-paced book and its short chapters made it an addictive read! Reading this book is the epitome of one-more-chapter-itis, the short chapters make you feel like that and then you notice that it is past midnight already.
It was an easy read, a light thriller – I feel like it would be perfect for those who usually enjoy popcorn thrillers.

Tom and Amy are happily married and head to Essex to visit their 20 year old daughter at college to celebrate her birthday. Before they leave, their daughter asks them to grab a dvd player from the attic and bring it with them. While Tom is searching for the dvd, he finds his late sister Emma's phone in the attic. But how can that be when she died in a house fire a year ago? Her phone should have been lost in the fire too. Then Amy starts acting strange during their trip to Essex and Tom knows she is hiding something but he doesn't know what.

I liked this book and it was a very quick read. I read so many 5 star reviews and comparisons to two of my absolute favorite authors, Harlan Coben and Linwood Barclay, that my expectations may have been too high. But, I think this author has a lot of promise as an author of domestic thrillers and one of my favorite plots involves someone keeping secrets, so I will read more from this author. I just don't think it was as meaty and twisty as the works of the aforementioned authors, but still a good read.

This is the first book I have read from Dan Clark, and I enjoyed it! Very fast paced, and I like the short chapters. I correctly guessed the twist pretty early on, but I still enjoyed the story. I would read more from this author.
