This was a really well written book about feelings. It has gorgeous illustrations and it has representation with people of different skin colors. Often times, I find that children's books have one skin color in its illustrations. Olive has a lot of emotions and the book shows Olive going through her day to day life and it explains her emotions. It also explains to children that it is okay to have a mix of emotions.

Thank you to NetGalley for the ARC of Olive All At Once by Mariam Gates. This is a perfect SEL read-aloud because it validates every child's feelings, no matter how complex or "mixed-up". The illustrations are captivating and the message is presented loud and clear.... it's always ok to feel how you're feeling, even if sometimes you can't understand all of the emotions yourself. Can't wait to see this on my classroom library shelf!

This book is about a girl named Olivrand her first day of school. This book also describes all the emotions that she goes through in different situations. The illustrations are beautiful. I highly recommend this book.
