A sweet story of second chances and summer camp. Jessie and Hillary were camp best friends who had a falling out and haven't spoken in years. When Jessie gets news that their beloved camp--where she is now director--is closing, she hatches a plan to invite back old campers for one last summer of fun. Hillary surprises herself by applying to be arts and crafts director for the season. The two old friends may have a chance to rebuild their friendship and maybe embark on something new together.

Each main character has a love interest at camp, but this is really a friendship love story. It'll make you want to go back to camp, even if you weren't a summer camp kid.

Thanks to Netgalley, the publisher, and the author for the ARC to review. All opinions are my own.

What can I say about Until Next Summer other than WOW! Ali Brady is an auto-buy author for me. Bradiegh & Allison make the perfect writing duo team and I always cannot wait to see what comes next. I love the alternating perspectives, the trip down memory lane to over night camp, all the nostalgia feels. It's all just SO SO SO SO good!

Thanks to the Ali Brady for a chance to do a Traveling Arc and Berkley for an advanced copy via Netgalley of Until Next Summer by Ali Brady! I'm such a summer camp girl, that I'm always drawn to books set at summer camps and the magic of summer camp.

Two former best friends each find love at an adults-only summer camp in this romantic and nostalgic novel that proves “once a camp person, always a camp person.” Jessie and Hillary lived for the summer as campers when they'd be reunited at Camp Chickawah, but when Hillary didn't come back as a counselor they drifted apart. Jessie worked her way up to Camp Director and Camp Chickawah is her life, but when the owner's children decide to sell the camp, she decides to have one last summer as an adult camp for all former campers to come back for one last summer!

This book is more about friendship than romance, and I was okay with that! I loved the summer camp nostalgia in the book and all of the summer camp fun. This was a fun book and it had the right mix of friendship, romance, and found family all set in a wonderful summer camp setting!

Highly recommend reading this one when it comes out in July!

Thank you NetGalley and Berkley Publishing for this advanced reader copy to review!

I give this book 4⭐️ :
This story follows Jessie, the director of a summer camp she’s been involved in since early childhood. It is what she lives and breathes. Then there is Hillary, Jessie’s childhood best friend, who chose a different path in adulthood, and led to their falling out. When the camp is set to be sold and closed down over a decade later, the two work together to make the last summer the best one yet.

I have done some summer camps in my childhood, but none were ever times I would remember forever. I was unsure if I would enjoy this story as much as I thought possible, thinking I wouldn’t be able to relate. Ali Brady’s writing is so beautiful and easy to follow, and they truly made me wish I had been to a summer camp to get the feel as described in this book. I felt like I was there, felt the emotions of the characters, and was invested in their stories.

One thing I love about this book, is that it isn’t just a romance. It’s a story of friendship, too, and is just as important (if not more) than the romance storylines. I adored that!

It’s a book perfect for the summer or to read on the beach. I recommend to others!

Thank you to Berkley Pub @BerkleyRomance and Netgalley @Netgalley for this e-arc. All thoughts are my own.

Growing up, Jessie and Hillary were inseparable at summer camp. They vowed to become counselors together, so Jessie is disappointed when Hillary takes another path. She stays on and ultimately becomes camp director.

When Jessie learns that the camp will be sold, she decides that as a last hurrah, she will invite adult, past campers back for one week stays. She’s excited but nervous when Hillary signs on to be the arts director. Hilary strikes up a romance with the camp chef, while Jessie fancies a brooding camper.

The two work on their friendship, and realize that this doesn’t have to be the last summer. Working together, they try to say their beloved camp before it’s too late.

I loved going to summer camp as a kid, so reading books about camp always brings me back and give me nostalgia. This book was very atmospheric and took me back to camp in the best possible way. I felt like I was right there with everyone in the story trying to keep camp open another year. However, I never did feel fully connected to any of the characters. I didn’t feel invested in either of the main characters, I really only cared about the camp, so it did make for an interesting read. I kept hoping the whole time for more, that I would suddenly connect, but it never happened. I did enjoy that this book had a great found family and featured strong female friendships. The grumpy sunshine trope was also nice, though I did tear up at a few places. This one is a fun read, I was just looking for a little more depth.

This book is perfect for poolside or beach reading! The ultimate summer read and would be great on vacation.

3.5 rounded to 4

"Ten for Two" is a phrase my pool friends use, and I was thrilled to see it in the opening pages of this book! Jessie and Hillary, who have grown up attending camp together face a misunderstanding during what should have been their counselor summer, leading to a loss of contact. Reuniting at Camp Chickawah for an adult summer camp, tensions run high as the camp faces closure, which is "Chicka Awful". The former friends realize this doesn't have to be their last summer. This book is brimming with fun and nostalgia! It makes me want to go to summer camp!

I loved this book. Having never been to sleepaway camp, this book still managed to make me feel so nostalgic and invested in Camp Chickawah and its future. Growing up, a lot of my friends went to sleepaway camp in the summers and I always wanted to go, but my parents never let me because of the cost. This book made me so sad on the memories I missed out on! The characters felt so real and had full backgrounds and depth, which definitely drew me right in. They were definitely imperfect and immature at times, but that just made them feel all the more real.

There were so many aspects of this book I loved - romance, friendship, forgiveness, found family, teamwork, growth. I also appreciated the very subtle Jewish representation sprinkled throughout the book - it's subtle enough that readers could easily skip over it, but I felt seen.
I just really loved this book and definitely recommend this one!

As kids Jessie and Hillary loved their summer camp and vowed to become counselor’s together. As Jessie worked her way to camp director as she grew, Hillary drifted apart. Now, Jessie learns the camp will be sold and has one last hurrah, inviting adults to camp- including Hillary.

This book did the incredible… it made me nostalgic for an experience that I’ve never had. I feel like I myself was a camper because the experience was so vivid within the book. All the characters were great and I loved getting to know them: especially the dog. This is a very cute story and will be the perfect summer 2024 read.

“Camp life isn’t real life. For most people it’s an escape from the real world. Whereas for me? It’s my entire world.”

Until Next Summer comes out 7/9.

I absolutely adored Until Next Summer, this new Ali Brady book! One of the things that really stood out to me was the focus on female friendship and relationships. It was so refreshing to see that, along with not just one, but two romance storylines. Both love interests were fantastic, but I have to admit, I had a soft spot for the tortured grumpy artist.

This book really made me feel all the things. I'm not typically a camp person, but it made me want to be. I was completely engrossed in the story and couldn't put it down. It was an absolute delight to dive into Jessie's and Hillary's lives, if only for a few hours. The writing was captivating and the story was beautifully crafted and very fun to read. But what I loved most was following along as these two women tried to rekindle their friendship and find meaningful romances. Both characters had so much going for them, and I just loved to see everything unfold for them!!!

If you've ever experienced summer camp, the nostalgia in this book will grip your heart in the best way possible. The way summer camp makes most people feel is truly indescribable and Ali Brady has captured that feeling effortlessly: the memories, the sense of belonging, the community, the freedom, and the pure joy of it all are perfectly portrayed here!

If you enjoy books with a dual point of view, summer camp for adults, found family, strong female friendships, leaning against doorframes, forehead kisses, and a grumpyxsunshine dynamic, then this is definitely a must-read for you.

Thanks so much to Netgalley and the publisher for sending the arc!

Jessie is a camp girl who grew up going to Camp Chickawah and now serves as its director. When she learns the camp will be sold, she plans one last hurrah inviting past campers to an adult summer camp before closing for good.

This was such a charming and nostalgic read. I never went to summer camp but could easily immerse myself in the story reminiscing on my own summers growing up on a lake. Jessie reconnects with her old BFF Hillary, confronting the abrupt ending of their friendship years earlier. In addition to summer hijinks, there are romantic entanglements and a plan to save their beloved camp.

Ali Brady always manage to write 400+ page books that I fly through. This is such an easy and entertaining read with a perfect blend of found family, female friendships, and flirty romance. Highly recommend adding it to your summer reading list when it publishes July 9!

Until Next Summer is a story about not only finding love but also finding yourself.

There are so many things I love about an Ali Brady book. The way they always blend women’s fiction and romance, the fact that we get two swoony heroes, how invested I become in each heroines storyline, the emphasis on self-discovery, the tropes and of course, the spice… and in this book some of the sexual humor was laugh out loud funny.

And as a girl who LOVES summer camp, I felt like so much of this book was made for me. From the campfires, to the mess hall and evening activities to the fast friendships and to living ten months for two, I was transported back to my childhood summers.

Short synopsis: After the announcement that her childhood summer camp is being sold, longtime camp director Jessie hosts an Adults camp as a last hurrah. Hillary let her best friend Jessie down years ago when she didn’t go back to host camp, now she’s attending Camp to make amends with Jessie.

My thoughts: Ali Brady is such a dynamic writing duo. I have adored everything I’ve read by them. Their books focus on deeply bonded friendship, but have such great romantic subplots too!

I loved watching Jessie and Hillary let down their walls and see how much they grew, both on their own and as friends. Each of their romantic interest storylines were so unique and fun, but these men were both so swoony in their own way.

Such a great story of friendship, personal growth, forgiveness, teamwork, and of course great camp shenanigans and pranks. I found myself laughing out loud, and deeply invested in the outcome of the relationships and the camp alike!

I’ve enjoyed all three Ali Brady books, but this one is my favorite. 🥰

Synopsis:
Jessie and Hillary were best friends from summer camp as kids. But as they become adults their lives were pulled in different directions. Jessie never wanted to leave camp and now runs the same camp. And Hillary worked an organized and planned out life in the city. But when the new owners decide to sell the camp Hillary comes back to have one final chance at saving their friendship.

My Thoughts:
What I love about every Ali Brady book is the focus on female friendship/relationship but also how there’s always not one but TWO romance storylines. Both of the love interests were great but I have a soft spot for the tortured grumpy artist.

I felt all the things. I am so NOT a camp person and this book made me want to be. So that says a lot.

Jessie and Hillary are the best of friends each summer during their time at Camp Chickawah. They dream of becoming counselors together, but when it becomes the right time, Hillary chooses to get an internship instead and they end their friendship over it. Jessie continues her camp life turning it into a full time career. Fast forward a few years and the camp is in trouble due to funding. They have one last summer to enjoy at camp and Jessie decides it should be an adults only camp of former campers. Hillary signs up hoping to repair her friendship with Jessie.

I really loved this book! It’s more about their friendships than the romance, but it’s also about finding yourself. Jessie really was lost with her family being divided in two, but she felt at home with camp. Too many changes in her life and camp felt stable. I enjoyed the romances for both of the main characters, but I appreciated that it wasn’t the main plot.

I’ve loved each of Ali Brady’s books and this was another absolute winner for me! Thank you @alibradybooks and @berkleypub for the chance to read the book early! Go #blueteam! Until Next Summer is out July 9 and would make a great summer reading novel!

I adored this setting. Brought back nostalgia from summer camp as a kid. Always love the way Ali Brady writes dual POV. I felt for the characters so much. Love the found family aspect.

For anyone who is a former or current “camp kid,” this one is for you! It is a love letter to all things summer camp and female friendship. This book is guaranteed to put a smile on your face and bring back all of the camp nostalgia. As someone who was both a camper and counselor at summer camps, I can tell you that I was flooded with memories. Ali Brady make such an incredible writing duo, and I just adored this story so much.

This was my first book by the duo that comprises Ali Brady. It's dual POV with two women best friends who find romance (with two other characters) during an adult summer camp. The plot was as expected, complete with two estranged friends reuniting to battle off the selling of their beloved childhood camp. There are lots of shenanigans that are alluded to but I felt like the reader was always experiencing them from the outside, since one main character is the camp director, thus keeping professional distance, and the other felt like an outsider at the beginning of the book. Overall, very predictable with a few sex scenes thrown in that I think were intended as romantic but just felt very cringy. I think there are definitely some better summer camp rom-com options out there.
Thanks so much for the ARC.

Oh how I wish I had been a camp kid! The writing duo Ali Brady has become a must read for me. And this one did not disappoint. I enjoyed the characters love of camp. The supporting characters were just as important as the main characters. I enjoyed both Jessie and Hillary's stories, life changes, and becoming who they were meant to be. This one is hard to put into a category - it is women's fiction with romance but the romance is not the main story. I will be recommending to all readers for a great summer read! I look forward to the next book from the writing duo Ali Brady.
