A perfect summer escape filled with charm, mystery, and romance. Mary Kay Andrews brings her signature Southern warmth and wit to a story that blends family drama, secrets, and beach-town vibes. Heartfelt, engaging, and ideal for a poolside or vacation read.

Really good book. Plenty of twists and drama and great characters throughout! Really good Summer read.

Going headfirst into a story without any knowledge of its synopsis can turn out a lovely experience, especially when it's a genre and a setting you like.
But going headfirst into a story without any knowledge of the author or any of her previous works can also mean you're up to get disappointed, and how it stings when it starts a way and ends up in the other direction!
Now, what I just wrote feels out of place from my usual reviews and kinda formal, like an old woman clutching her pearls and using a dissatisfied tone while talking about neighbourhood gossip.
And that's exactly how I felt reading this. Like, every character, of every age and gender and race, felt like they were clutching their pearls — literally and figuratively speaking, because I can imagine some of them with clutching actual pearls — while running a hotel, telling people off, resolving a murder and, more generally, scheming.
Idk if I would have come up with such a imaginative way of dealing with this book if the pace wasn't so slow, if so many words haven’t been used for adding nothing at all to the story, if the characters weren't so many — all flat and none of them worth of be remembered —, or if I wouldn’t clock the “twist” not even halfway into it.
Last but not least, I don't think we should make sexual harassment jokes, not in every possible context, not ever.
There's so many way *that* specifical sentence could have been turn into, but the author had to chose to go with the worst possible way.
Thanks to St. Martin’s Press and NetGalley, who provided me with a copy of this book in exchange for an honest opinion.

Only my second book by this author, but I will definitely be reading more from her. This was a lovely mystery and romance. I enjoyed the characters and twists and turns. Thanks NetGalley for the audio EArc.

Summer, secrets, and scintillating suspense. Summers at the Saint by Mary Kay Andrews is a fully immersive beach read—sun-soaked luxury with a side of murder, class feuds, and heart. Traci fights to save her resort while unraveling buried betrayals that hit close to home. Part spirited bait-and-switch of light and shade, part emotional redemption—totally addictive.

Great audiobook! Didn’t love the print version. Enough plot to keep it moving, likable characters. Chapters could have been a liiiiiitle shorter.

High Society with a mystery, how can you not love it! It's easy, quick reading so perfect for a vacation or to listen on audio book. The characters were layered and had depth making me invested. I actually teared up at the big moment of the book (not the ending). Give it a read!

Off the coast of Georgia, The Saint is a resort and hotel. The wealthy Eddings family has run it for decades. Traci, a widowed in law runs things. Everything turns sinister when there is a sudden death. ARC from NetGalley.

Summers at the Saint (5/7/24)
I have never read anything by Mary Kay Andrews before, but I am so glad I picked up Summers at the Saint. Almost page of the novel feels so much like summer! I could just picture myself sitting by the pool at the Saint Ceceila resort.
I also appreciated that this novel was more than just a summer fluff piece as it had layered characters and two mysteries (one past and one historical) that you will need to solve. The characters are navigating a web of family relationships, when someone starts to pull on the strings of the past. The novel is fast-moving so I kept turning the pages and finished it in less than 24 hours!
After Summers at the Saint, I look forward to read other books from this author. Five stars!
I will post reviews on post this review on Goodreads, Bookbub, Amazon & Barnes & Noble.

Mary Kay Andrews is one of my all-time favorites and she does it again. This is a great beach read or whenever read of The Saint and the characters who run and visit. A bit like an Elin Hildebrand with a suspense story included. The hardest part is whenever I finish an MKA is I want to read another. They are like potato chips; you can't read just one.

This was exactly the kind of fun summer romp I wanted it to be. I found it page-turning and sparkling, and I was rooting for Traci all along. My first MKA but not my last!

I'm such a fan that so many authors are adding a little depth to the genre they write. Instead of a chick lit or summer light read, this one had a little suspense with it. You would never classify it as a mystery, but it had me guessing about a few things.
I love that there are multiple ages of characters represented that are all relatable and interesting. All of them leading into multiple storylines of love, family, grief, secrets and scandal. This might seem like a lot, but the layers align and make for an easy to follow plot.
While I never want to lose anyone in my family, I always dream of inheriting a hotel/spa/inn to run. This is the perfect backdrop for a summer read. It kept me engaged and wanting more. The complex layers and unique and likable characters, made this a great read.
I read this as an immersive read while listening to the audiobook. Kathleen McInerney was a terrific choice of narrator and made listening a pleasure. She brought it all to life and let the story shine.

This book was SO dang good. The twists, the turns, the plot. At first, I wasn’t sure what to expect with so many characters, nor where the story was going at the start, but once it started, it never stopped. It was so, so well paced, the alternating POVs really added something to the story, and the character flesh outs were phenomenal. I really felt like I knew the characters… that is, until the twists came! Eek! Such a good story and MKA is a WONDERFUL writer. So sad I waited to long to read this one, but I really enjoyed it! Thanks for the opportunity to read as an ARC!

Mary Kay Andrews' books are always perfect for summer...some mystery, some romance, some beachy atmosphere, and a bit of glitz and glamour. And she's done it again with Summers at the Saint. As you read the book, you can just picture yourself at the resort as i a Saint or an Ain't. Grab this book, throw it in your bag, and head to the beach, pool, or just your front porch. Enjoy!

I really tried liking this. I enjoyed the story until Parrish died but honestly after she died, I felt like all Tracey was concerned about was the reputation of the resort. When she did show empathy it felt very fake. I'm thinking Mary Kay Andrews writing just isn't for me... STUNNING cover though!

Summers at the Saint is classic Mary Kay Andrews—fun, breezy, with just the right mix of mystery, drama, and beachy vibes. The setting at the old resort is super charming, and the mix of past secrets and present-day scandal keeps things interesting without getting too heavy.
Perfect for a poolside or weekend read especially if you love stories about friendships, second chances, and a little coastal intrigue.
This was my first time reading any of her books. I enjoyed it well enough.

This book wasn’t at all what I expected! I guess I judged a book by its cover and was surprised. It was so much more complex and intertwined and just.. good. I was anticipating summer vibes and some drama but this one teetered on the edge of thriller once certain events started happening. There was twists, drama, love, grief, and family. There was a heavy introduction of characters in the beginning, but each was important and was provided enough of background to decipher who’s who. Worth reading!!

Mary Kay Andrews is my favorite Christmas author and I was sooo excited for her to come out with a summer book!! I’m obsessed with her witting style and I loved every single character. And the plot twists!! Loved this book and can’t wait for whatever she has coming out next!

A very interesting read. It’s definitely more of a mystery/literary fiction than a romance, there’s a little bit of romance but not that much. I found the concept really intriguing, the mystery kept me guessing throughout the book. I also appreciated some of the themes/messages. There were a few too many characters and they got confusing at times. It was hard to keep track of everything going on. I enjoyed the ending and think this is a great summer read to pick up!

I'm never disappointed by a Mary Kay Andrews book. This one was mostly mystery and had twist after twist. The coastal setting in the southeast was vividly described, and the resort where most of the story takes place sounded like the perfect vacation spot. Her characters were great. Traci grew up as a "townie" but fell in love and married into the prominent Eddings family, who own the resort. Her niece and her former best friend's daughter are both working at the resort, and she has hired a new superstar chef. Unfortunately, tragedy occurs and dredges up memories of another tragedy from the past. Law enforcement and some amateur sleuths chase down lots of interesting theories and possible suspects. I like the sassy writing and entertaining story that I can always count on in an MKA book. Thanks to NetGalley and St. Martin's Press for a digital copy to review.
