Summers At The Saint by Mary Kay Andrews was a fabulous book. I devoured it in two short days. The nostalgic St. Cecelia is not only special to the community but it means everything to Traci Eddings. Mystery has it all, light hearted humor, a beautiful coastal setting and relatable characters. This is truly a perfect beach read! You will find yourself cheering Traci on throughout this quick book with a great cast of characters.

Thank you St Martin Press for the opportunity to read and review this awesome book. I look forward to many more by Mary Kay Andrews.

This perfect beach read is exactly what I needed! I love going into books mostly blind and I was really surprised with this read. I've read this author previously, but didn't know too much about this particular plot until I dove in! This is a great summer fun kind of read with some mystery and some romance. Well-balanced read!

I absolutely love the turn that author Mary Kay Andrews has made in her recent novels. Each story (Summers at the Saint, The Home Wreckers, and The Newcomer) provides just the right mix of mystery, drama, and romance. This combination grabs your attention and keeps you coming back form more.

While Summers at the Saint was not my favorite Mary Kay Andrews book thus far in my life, it was an overall enjoyable read. The story started off with almost too many characters, and at first I struggled a little bit to see how they were all going to fit together or why they would be important. However, they all did play a large role in this story set in one summer at a resort hotel. I enjoyed the age range and range of perspectives of all of the characters as they really added to the progression of the story, though some language used sort of came out of nowhere, it was a fresh way to write a story I felt.

The major twists happen in the last third of the story. There were parts I felt dragged on a bit too much, so I do think the story could be shorter somehow. I did not see the twists coming nor did I think the story was going where it did, so I did appreciate that.

Thank you to Netgalley and St. Martin’s Press for the opportunity to read this in exchange for my honest opinion.

This book has all the feels, but not for my classroom. It’s a great cozy book for anyone who wants a little romance mixed with a little mystery, and a quick escape from adulting! MKA hits it out of the park yet again!

4.5 stars! I loved this one. It was an easy, quick read with a charming setting, a good story, and a fun cast of characters.

Although there were a lot of characters and some of them weren’t very fleshed out and didn’t seem necessary, I still enjoyed the book overall. Even with a murder mystery, it managed to be a mostly lighthearted read that wasn’t too dark.

I think this would be a perfect beach read.

This was a good read, not my favorite, but it kept me reading. I enjoyed the story line, but the pacing wasn't my favorite.

Title: Summers At The Saint
Author: Mary Kay Andrews
Publisher: St. Martin’s Press
Pub date: 5/7/2024

This is a one of those books I’d consider a quick read. Enjoyable from start to finish. Mary Kay Andrews gives you several mysteries, a murder, plenty of drama and some romance to boot all in one book.

The book is written around the people living, working and surviving the luxury hotel named The Saint on the island of St. Cecelia, Georgia. As the reader you get the picture of the haves and have nots pretty clearly. Traci Eddings, the main character, once was a have not (an “ain’t”) who married into the family who owned the The Saint and now is trying to bring the hotel back to its former glory and be fair to her staff. This will be no easy task since she is still looked at as an outsider by her brother in law who is used to getting what he wants, plenty of scheming and a murder!

Thank you #NetGalley and #StMartinsPress for giving me the opportunity to read this story and find another author that I can add as one of my favorites.

A summery mystery that had me guessing but also had me wondering when it would end. I enjoyed the setting and the wide host of characters but it was missing something to really bring it all together for me. A solid 3 stars I think.

This was somehow my first book of Mary Kay Andrews but it will not be my last! This one starts out slow but you get hooked so fast you can't put it down. Traci is the widowed owner of a high end resort on the Georgia coast which has always been known as The Saint. If you were from the wrong side of town, you were an "Ain't" But traci, an Ain't, married into the family is now is fighting to keep the place up and running.

AMazing beach read--thanks so much for the copy!

SUMMERS AT THE SAINT was an engaging & entertaining read, with a touch of romance woven throughout. It was my first time reading this author, but it won’t be my last! The story is told through multiple POV, which added to the intrigue, especially as two mysteries unfolded simultaneously.

The cast of characters was diverse, each with their own motives, which kept me guessing until the end. While I managed to predict some twists, others genuinely surprised me—particularly a pivotal event halfway through that I didn’t see coming.

If you enjoy mysteries filled with a plethora of characters, unexpected turns, & just the right amount of suspense & romance, this is a book you’ll definitely want to pick up!
