I’m not sure how Mary Kay Andrew’s manages to write a book every year but she does! And I will continue to read and enjoy each one! I received an ARC of Summers at the Saint and I couldn’t wait to dive in!
There are a lot of characters in the beginning of the book to set things up and that was a little confusing. But then the story starting taking shape and I was pulled in. The Saint is an ode to a fogetten time of grand hotels. They are trying to stay relevant in a changing world. Traci is at the helm after the death of her husband, grandson of the owner. She grew up with the Saint in the background of her small town. She needs to hire and offer incentives to get and keep the staff she needs to open for the summer season. Thus we are introduced to the other characters in the story. There is a murder, mystery, love, and redemption in this book. I thoroughly enjoyed it!

This book has it all! A book that kept my attention with a little bit of beach read vibes, a little bit of murder and a touch of romance mixed in.

Mary Kay Andrews hits it out of the park again. If you are looking for a fabulous beach read or even just a book to forget about the fact that you aren't on the beach, you need to pick this up. A perfect example of why every book by her is a "must read".

Love a Mary Kay Andrew's beach read and this didn't disappoint. This book reads like a cross between a soap opera and a true crime documentary, which is the perfect combination for next to the pool with a drink in hand!

Traci Eddings goes from an "ain't" to a "saint" when she falls in love and marries one of the heirs of the exclusive St Cecelia hotel. After he passes, Traci takes over the reins of the hotel and she wants to keep the family legacy strong. She hires a wonderful crew to help her run the hotel but as summer goes on and the murders and mysteries keep building up, she has to figure out who in the hotel is sabotaging her.

With a great cast of supporting characters and lots of scandal, this book was amazing! Many thanks to NetGalley and St Martin's Press for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I love Mary Kay Andrews beach reads, I even love her Christmas stories (really loved Bright LIghts, Big Christmas). But this book is a little different--it seems to hark back to the Callahan Garrity books, but instead of a cleaning service owner, the main character is a hotel owner. The setting is wonderful, the reader can picture the cottages, the beach, the lush greenery and flowers, even Traci's dark, depressing home (filled with in-law stuff).. The characters are interesting, even the "bad guys", the friendship between Traci and her childhood friend Shannon was exciting and fulfilling to see them get back together. But the plot of this book was different from the others, it had a darker side that I did not feel with her other books and pulled at my emotions (spoiler alert) when Parrish died, I could feel Traci's despondency coming from the pages. I realized that everyone had secrets and the slow reveal of all them kept the novel moving. So, as much as I liked the "new" mystery book, I hope Ms. Andrews will still write some of her lighter beach reads and merry Christmas stories.

This was my first Mary Kay Andrew’s book that was not a Christmas novel and I absolutely loved it! I could not put it down. This book has the perfect balance of summer romance and twists that will keep you guessing. Summers at the Saint is the perfect summer vacation book, you will find yourself immersed in the lives of the staff of the exclusive Saint Cecelia hotel and its summer members. The Saint as the locals refer to it has quite a history and widowed Traci Eddings is trying to keep it thriving in a post Covid world. She convinces her niece Parrish to help her fill in for staff that have left to work at newer resorts that offer more pay and significant sign on bonuses.
Parrish soon begins to uncover things at the resort that don’t add up.
Put this book on your summer must read list and preorder it now.

This is the first time I have ever picked up a book by Mary Kay Andrew’s, so I went in blind. I did not expect a whodunnit with a full cast of characters.

When I went into this book I really expected a light rom-com beach read and it was definitely not what I got-I’m definitely not saying that’s a bad thing- I really enjoyed this read, but do feel as though it could be misleading to those who picked it up for the same reasons I did initially.

This book brought the drama, some thrills and a little mystery. You will laugh, and be on the edge of your seat all at the same time. Just be prepared for a full cast of characters with multiple points of view, and a few unexpected twists along the way.

Thanks to St. Martin's Publishing Group and the author for this ARC, in exchange for my honest review.
This is the first book i read about Mary Kay Andrews, and i must confess, i thought it was a beach read.
I couldn't be more wrong. It's a romance mixed with a dark side, a little bit of thriller, and a dash of humor.
Traci is such a lovely main character, or is the hotel itself the truth main character?

I have read most of Mary Kay Andrews books and have always enjoyed. Although this one was labeled a beach read I found it to be more involved that her other books. The story is about a high end resort, The Saint, and the people that own it and are employed there. There are some twists and turns with a murder and trying to solve it which involves quite a few people. There are many characters in this story. While I enjoyed the story I didn't find it as satisfying as her other books.

I was so honored to read this book before its release. I have always enjoyed her books. This one was no exception. I loved the characters and was totally hooked from the beginning. It was hard for me to put down and do real life activities! The twist at the end was unexpected! Very well done!

Mary Kay Andrews has become a must read for me. Her storytelling ability is one of a kind. This story had a lot of characters and the backdrop had to be developed before it picked up the last half of the story. I would highly recommend this book to all the summer read fans.

Running a high-end resort is never a easy job. Add in a brother-in-law (also owner) who hates you, staffing problems, murder and theft and Traci feels like she is way in over her head. Do not miss this wonderful book!

Imagine if Outer Banks (from Netflix) was a drama told primarily through the lens of the adults? Well imagine no longer because Summers at the Saint brings the beach, the drama, the mystery, and the incredible writing.

I encourage you to NOT judge this book by its summer fun loving cover. Much like the Saint itself, this colorful outside is hiding so much within. In all, I really enjoyed this book and found it was a great vacation beach read. A clever storyline, well defined characters, and just enough mystery to keep me on the hook.

Thank you #netgalley and #stmartinspress for the #arc. #summersatthesaint #marykayandrews

I enjoyed this book especially after just finishing Bright Lights, Big Christmas. It had a murder/corruption storyline with a hint of romance and a couple plot twists.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC.

This was my first MKA book, and I expected a bit of a smoother and deeper book. It wasn't really a romance, which is what it was labelled.

Title: Summers at the Saint

Author: Mary Kay Andrews

Publisher: St Martin's Press

Rating: 4 stars

Brief Summary: This book has an ensemble cast of characters, and it follows works at the fancy "Saint" Resort.

What I Enjoyed: This book was more than just your classic beach read. There was an element of mystery and suspense. It was similar to an Elin Hildebrand novel in some ways.

What I Disliked: The book was very long.

Overall, I did enjoy this book and will be definitely be reading more by Mary Kay Andrews in the future!

Romance...Murder...Entertaining.

Such a fun read. Romance, drama and a murder intertwined with wittiness. I giggled and laughed throughout the book, especially the "takeover of the gun" scene (I pictured myself in one of the girl roles). I LOVED everything about the book and every minute I spent reading it.

"I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own."

Wow, what a cute and captivating story "Summers at the Saint" turned out to be! I'm all in for suspenseful tales, and this one had me on the edge of my seat from start to finish.

Mary Kay Andrews weaves a narrative that's not just a murder mystery but also a rollercoaster of family drama and a sprinkle of romance. The multiple storylines add a layer of complexity that keeps you hooked, though I'll admit, it took a moment to catch up with all the characters and their perspectives.

The plot is intriguing right from the get-go. Two lifeguards, Traci and Shannon, working for the "saints" among the affluent crowd! Fast forward a few years, and Traci's life takes a turn when she marries into the family that owns the resort. The joy is short-lived as tragedy strikes, leaving Traci to manage the struggling hotel on her own.

The mix of mystery, shady histories, and the challenges of running a high-end resort in a post-pandemic world adds layers to the story. Traci, along with her crew of young employees, becomes the heart of "The Saint Cecelia." Their struggles to maintain the legacy of the resort while dealing with suspicious activities create a compelling narrative.

Sure, the start might be a bit busy with numerous points of view, but once you settle in, it's an absolute delight. Mary Kay Andrews creates a perfect balance between the suspenseful mysteries and the warmth of summer vibes. It's like a literary vacation you never want to end.

This book is perfect for a vacation read. Picture yourself under the sun, trying to unravel the mysteries alongside Traci and her team. It's engaging, fun, and just the right amount of suspense to keep you turning those pages. "Summers at the Saint" is a delightful escape that I wholeheartedly recommend, especially if you love a good mix of mystery and summer vibes.
