MKA hooks the reader with interesting characters I wanted to befriend, as well as a few I loved to hate. Full of secrets, friendship, mystery, romance, and a murder to solve, this book is a great get-away when you need to escape.

Romance is not a genre a pick up frequently, yet this is the second novel by this author that I've really enjoyed. It's more of a genre mash-up - mystery + light romance - with a strong, capable female protagonist and several overlapping mysteries that held my attention and even managed to surprise me a little.

This is clearly a beach read, but reading it during an arctic blast made the cold and snow more tolerable. Andrews books seem a little formulaic, but I've enjoyed them and will likely read more from her.

Disappointing from an established author. This was really not good. There is.. possibility.. but it needs a massive editing overhaul before publication which I don't think will happen at this point. The story is disjointed, the villain is obvious, there's so many unnecessary words, and while it's clearly trying to be a thriller it's not.. thrilling. Nor fun enough to be a cozy. Just kind of.. blah.

Riveting suspense good storyline. Mary Kay Andrew's hits it out of the ballpark again. It is full of suspense, perseverance, sorrow, loss, joy this book has it all. Well worth your time.

Great read, Story set at the St Cecilia Resort commonly called The Saint. The main character, Traci, started out as a "townie" or as commonly called, an ain't vs. a Saint from the right side of town. Traci started working at the Saint Resort at age 17 as a lifeguard and worked her way up. She and the younger son of the owners fell in love and eventually married. Unfortunately, 5 yrs later, she loses the love of her life in a plane crash. The family never approved of her, but since she now owns a large part of the resort, they are stuck with her. There are many secrets and family scandals that abound. Will they unravel? Page turner for sure. Another great MaryKay Andrews book. What a fun read! I stayed up until 2AM finishing this because I just had to know what was going to happen next!! A tale of mystery, intrigue, deception, and friendships anew - these all come together to form what happens at the Saint one summer and you literally have no idea what's real and what's not. I LOVED this book and I knew I was going to based on the synopsis. Such a great read and need to find more by this author!!

I am biased because I am such a fan of Mary Kay Andrews (MKA). I had very little knowledge of this book, just that MKA had recently completed it and it would be available in May., according to her FB posts. I was elated when I received this DRC! And I was not disappointed. MKA wove such an intricate web of shady dealings, family intrigue, murders, and thefts set in an exclusive St. Cecilia resort, known as the Saint. When I started reading the book, this description of the Saint, brought to mind the Don Cesar in St.. Petersburg Florida. You will root for the good guys, while a few reptilian characters will repulse you. This book will be a juicy summer read - whether by the pool, on a beach or in an air conditioned room. Enjoy!

What a great book! Mary Kay Andrews never disappoints. Traci Eddings is running the luxury hotel St. Celicia. She has inherited the hotel when her precious husband dies. The issue, she has never been accepted by his family. Born in the area you are either classified as a “saint” or and “ain’t”.. Traci was definitely an aint. Meeting her husband while working as a life guard at the hotel, they fell in love. Never was she allowed to fit in and was constantly reminded of it. As the years pass she sees sneaky underhanded dealings but nothing prepares her for this summer. This book has all the elements for a great beach read. Love, friendship, treachery, and murder. I loved it.

I jumped right into this book during a blizzard weekend, and it was the perfect read to keep my mind fully entertained and thinking. The Saint is a luxury resort hotel where members and guests pay for exclusive access and high quality vacations and services. Traci Eddings married into the family and now owns the hotel after her husband died in a tragic accident. She is a sharp woman, but has been struggling to retain staff and drive a profit. As if that wasn't enough her brother-in-law lets his weasel-like personality shine as we get to know him in this story.

New staff begins to be hired and move on site; personalities start to develop, but tragedy also strikes. The reader will try to become one of the detectives figuring out who is behind some of the crazy activities at the resort, while also feeling a lot of compassion for the good ones.

Scandalous. This summer resort and the family who owns it have quite a few secrets. It’s starts with a drowning from years ago and takes off like a runaway train until all the secrets are finally revealed. It’s a page turner but sometimes the plot was too predictable and the clues were a bit repetitive. I am a sucker for clever women, even when they’re villains too.

Great story for reading under an umbrella at the beach or cozied up next to a fire. The author takes the reader on a journey of healing and love. It was nice to see supportive families and how multiple relationship play out throughout the summer. Honesty and love can be the best answer.

I really enjoyed this book. I downloaded it for free from NetGalley. I love Mary Kay Andrews books and this one is one of her best. Romance, mystery, and intrigue. I didn’t want to out it down until I found out who was doing all the nefarious things. Would definitely recommend this book.

I wait for MKA’s summer release every year. Her books never disappoint and “Summers at the Saint” is no different. I didn’t want to put this down but wanted to pace myself so it wouldn’t be over! This book is full on mystery and romance. The perfect combination for a summer read! I loved this one so much! Perfection!

Once again, Mary Kay Andrews has written a perfect beach read! Summer at the Saint is a fantastic combination of romance and women’s fiction genres mixed with an intriguing mystery! Mary Kay Andrews is a master at character development and this novel is the perfect example of that! I was drawn into all of the characters (both main and supporting) stories and outcomes! I would love it if this novel was developed into a series because I know The Saint and the little town of St. Cecelia, Georgia has many more tales to tell! I have been a fan of Mary Kay Andrews for years and loved all of her novels and Summer at the Saint is my new top favorite from her—5 huge stars!!

This was only the second Mary Kay Andrews book that I have read, so I didn’t really know what to expect, just that it was offered through a NetGalley mailing and I thought the premise sounded promising. I’m glad I did. “Summers at the Saint” pretty much had it all; romance, murder, intrigue, beautiful settings. The story was fast paced once it actually got started several chapters in. Centering around Traci Eddings, a local girl who ended up running the St. Cecelia, referred to by the local as the Saint, a five star retreat for the privileged. Traci worked as a lifeguard with her best friend in 1992 when she met and fell in love with Hoke, the son of the owner. Hoke is tragically killed in a plane crash, leaving the running of the resort to Traci. As Traci works hard to maintain the Saint’s sterling reputation, she has to face the loss of both her chef and front manager. She devises ways to get new staff in for the summer, but in doing so, she has to cope with her husband’s resentful family. No spoilers here, just suffice it to say that things don’t go the way she expects, but through it all, she keeps a level head, especially with the arrival of Whelan, who it turns out, has an ulterior motive for working at the Saint. The plot was good, the characters engaging, but left several questions unanswered, so I took a star away for that. Still, this will be an excellent summer read. I've read quite a few of MKAs novels but this one I just couldn't put down. I thought it was just a beach read but it was so much more. There was some intrigue, murder, secrets, love and friendships. The character development was well though out. I found myself rooting for some and others, I just wanted to tell them what I really thought of them. Saints - oh how the mighty have fallen. Gotta love a good Mary Kay Andrews story. Her southern charm, wit, sassy comebacks and emphasis on female lead characters keeps me intrigued for more.
