This is a review for an excerpt of Midnight Ruin. As such, I cannot reliably speak to the overall plot of the story, only the three scenes that were available in the excerpt.
As always, I really appreciate Katee Robert’s careful and thoughtful approach to the LGBTQIA+ and kink communities. This latest installment of the Dark Olympus series is no exception.
The way this world has grown exponentially throughout the series is something that I’m in complete awe of. Midnight Ruin is a welcome addition and a new foray into a rarely explored and highly misunderstood/misrepresented area of play.
I can’t wait to read the full book as the dynamic between Orpheus, Eurydice, and Charon is an intriguing and (let’s face it, it’s a Katee Robert book) ridiculously hot. We all know Katee is one of the best for building tension and having it payoff in an absolute downpour of sparks.
I know this will be an instant hit with fans of both the author and spicy romance reimaginings!

Hot hot hot!! I love this series and author! I cannot wait to read the full book. I adore the mythology and references to the original stories. Add in Katee’s particular brand of spice and you make the perfect book. Absolutely addicting

The newest installment in the Dark Olympus series offers significant developments in the overarching storyline, particularly in terms of politics. The romance aspect, featuring a polyamorous relationship between Eurydice, Charon, and Orpheus, also takes center stage, with Orpheus dealing with past mistakes. While the power dynamics and the act of groveling aren't my personal preference, they work within the context of the characters. Overall, I'm highly invested in where the larger plot is heading. The audiobook maintains consistent narrators, although the main male narrator is not my favorite, he has grown on me. As a disclaimer, I received an audio review copy of this book from Netgalley, and all opinions expressed are my own.

The plot is starting to drag. Nothing new is really happening. Like please wrap up the barrier is failing and an attack is coming plot line please. It’s getting repetitive
…and I’m getting bored of things being dragged out.
But in terms of the romance and the couple…this has to be my favorite so far. 🌶️🌶️🌶️

Fun to get a peek at a new title! I am excited to see what happens in the rest of the story both with these characters and the larger Dark Olympus Plot.

What a Tease! Midnight Ruin was an amazing next chapter into the Dark Olypus world. I really love the character dynamics and how the focus on The main couple (Triaid) only seeks to enrich the world that has been building up. I'm not only invested in the story of Orphious and Charon and Eruidise as a couple but how the actions leading up to this book are affecting them. also helps that the smut is just so well done!

This preview makes me so excited to read the full novel! I have been so intrigued with the Charon/Eurydice/Orpheus relationship since i heard about it and I'm really curious to see how Orpheus can be redeemed after being so terrible in book 1.

What an enticing excerpt! I am DYING to read the entire book, and it was exciting to get a little taste ahead of the release date. Cannot wait to read the full book. Katee Robert does not disappoint.

Such a great taste of the book! I love this author and series, and have reviewed the full audio book as well.

I've only read the first book - Neon Gods from the Dark Olympus series, but this preview is making me want to continue on with the books!
But boy oh boy was the beginning itself intense! This preview introduces us to the three main characters, and I'm so excited to read the rest of the book!
3.5 ⭐

This was just a few chapters showcasing the coming together of Charon, Eurydice and Orpheus as a threesome. I appreciate that we can see that Orpheus has grown in character since the first book, when he basically threw Eurydice to the wolves without a second thought.

Dear lord that was delicious af!
5 stars
I love Katee Robert’s writing style so much
I fully plan to read the full book but realize I need to read the entire series to know the characters so off I go to find the first book at the local library~
My only issue is on page 18 of the NetGalley edition of the preview it seems something was cut off? It goes from ending one sentence to starting another right at “er [explicit] has made her….” Like? What happened here?! Of course this issue is right in the middle of a super steamy bit ugh

Latest in the Dark Olympus series, this time spinning the tale of Eurydice, Orpheus and Charon. Filled lots of steam, the political intrigue and posturing plays a larger role than in earlier books and sets up a shifted dynamic for the following books. As I was reading, I kept remembering bits and pieces of a classic film retelling of this same story where it was much more romantic and tragic. Both renderings have their strong points, but really points out how the same material can be used to create such different interpretations.

This series keeps getting better and better. I got the preview just as the full book was published so I ended up reading past the preview. But I adore Dark Olympus and can't wait to read the next one!

Finally FINALLY, we are getting to read the story of Eurydice Dimitriou, Charon Ariti, and Orpheus Makos. I honestly have no words to describe the Dark Olympus series by Katee Robert. Even though I only got an ARC of a small sampling of this book, it left me literally panting for more. This series always impresses and never seems to get old, no matter how many books we get into. I absolutely cannot wait to read or listen to the whole thing.

Midnight Ruin by Katee Robert is a steamy romance novel that tells the story of Eurydice Dimitriou, Charon Ariti, and Orpheus Makos. Eurydice has always been the innocent sister, overshadowed by her powerful family and her ex who shattered her heart. But now, she's ready to step out of that shadow and forget her heartbreak once and for all by exploring rough hands on soft skin.
Charon has been Hades's right-hand man for years, but he's ready to take something for himself. He offers to give Eurydice a special kind of education, but is her heart really free enough to be claimed? Orpheus, the golden boy of the upper city, is now a shadow of his former self. He'll do anything to get Eurydice back, even if it means she's not coming into his arms alone.
As enemies slip through Olympus's faltering barrier to lay siege on the lower city, these three hearts will face countless challenges and obstacles. Midnight Ruin is a thrilling and sensual ride filled with romance, action, and suspense. The characters are well-developed, and their chemistry is electric. Katee Robert has created a vivid and intense world that will leave you wanting more. If you're a fan of steamy romance novels with a touch of mythology and suspense, then Midnight Ruin is a must-read.

This was a nice preview of the book Midnight Ruin. After reading it, I went ahead and preordered the book, I can't wait to read the rest!

I read the preview and was immediately hooked. I had to have this book so I could read how we got here and what happened. The perfect 3 chapters to use as a teaser. I have since read the entire book. I absolutely devoured it, the characters and their build up and how they got to where they are is incredible. I was not happy that we don’t actually get to know if he broke his back at the end or not so hopefully that’s covered in the next book or I am going to be super disappointed

I don’t generally go for previews but I love Roberts Olympus series. It’s hard to rate without the complete book but this did leave me wanting to read the whole thing,

Wow! This preview was just a couple of chapters, but I can already tell that this book will not only be spicy, but a wild ride. This chapter is so much deeper than a dom/sub, puppy play scenario. You can tell that there are deeper themes at play here such as acceptance, and healing. It seems that Orpeus is using this scene to pay penance for the way he treated Eurydice in the past. He feels that he deserves the punishment. Eurydice on the other hand, feels that she is entitled to the power over him, which she is. Orpheus made a fool out of her and hurt her deeply. She always gave him the power in their relationship in the past, and by him submitting to her now, she is gaining some of that power back.
My favorite partner in this scene though is Charon. Charon is HOT. He is a switch, and I love that. He is undeniably the best character, and truly loves Eurydice and has conflicting feelings for Orpheus. If this is a snapshot into the rest of the book then I have no doubt that it will be amazing.
Thank you NetGalley, Sourcebooks Casablanca and Katee Robert for an e-ARC preview of this book in return for an honest review.
