A fantastic second book in the Carcosa trilogy.
Joseph Sale is a talented author of dark fantasies, whose writing style reminds me of Clive Barker. The story is fully engaging and deliciously dark: a real thrill. The world he creates is amazing, which has me really looking forward the third book in the series!

It’s a satisfying blend of intrigue and adventure. It has its faults. Sale perhaps writes more for himself at times. But fun? Yes.

This had a great dark fantasy and horror elements to it. I was invested in the story and loved that it was a sequel in the Lost book of carcosa series. It was perfect for the genre and the world felt like it was the same for both stories. Joseph sale has a great writing style, and is able to make characters that you care about and hope nothing bad happens to. It uses that dark fantasy element perfectly, and I really enjoyed the Sorcereress in this. It left me wanting to read more in this world. And I'm glad I got to read this.

This book took me on a ride full of betrayal, the fate of a city,, and so much more. This book has such a great balance of adventure, thriller, and suspense you get a little bit of everything enjoyable. This book was out of my comfort zone but I loved this book because it helped me take a step forward in reading something I normally don't read. All the characters in my opinion portray very powerful and strong backgrounds and the heroic actions that are taking place. I can say that for me there are moments where the pacing of the book slows down which causes great moments to be lost. But I craved more plotlines within the story. But I can say this Joseph Sales's storytelling skills are phenomenal.

Thank you netgalley for eARC this book I really enjoyed it

This is the 2nd book in the trilogy.
Alan is a human of earth who has always searched for what his dreams and nightmares calls Carcosa. But before he did not know what it actually was. Until he met Cali, that is.
Now Alan has finally found a way to get there, but it may cost his sanity and his very life.

This is the 2nd book in a trilogy that opens up the amazing place called Carcosa.
What started out as a simple play that caused insanity to whomever reached the 3rd Act now is a full fledged living place ruled by the very mysterious King in Yellow.
Follow Alan as he traverses this new place of existence to find himself.
This, for me, was a mix of Clive Barker's Hellbound Heart with a little Dante's Inferno and very Lovecraftian elements.
Highly recommend!!
Got this as an ARC from Netgalley but this review is all mine!
