Thank you netgalley and Kasey Morris for the ARC
No spoiler review.
First of all holy crap George and madeline are just 🔥🔥 🔥, especially those scenes 😩. The banter and their chemistry is just electrifying. Also there were some parts that were emo 🤧 but it was wholesome.
I loved the overall theme and storyline of this book. I really enjoyed knowing about the poultry competitions and knowing about different breeds. It is the first time I heard about this type of thing. I learnt something new from it.
I really enjoyed this from the beginning till the end ❤🤭, I hope everyone else also enjoy this book too.

This is definitely unlike any book I've ever read. A romance novel heavily threaded with chickens. I didn't know what to expect when I started reading this and I didn't have super high hopes but I ended up absolutely loving this book. If you know nothing at all about chickens, like me, trust that you'll still enjoy this read. This book gave off a Jane Austen vibe that I thoroughly enjoyed. The characters are well rounded in a way that you feel like you know exactly who they are and understand their thoughts/actions. There's even some chicken espionage! You'll more than likely learn something about birds, especially if you're like me and end up googling the bird breeds referenced.
Long story short, I started this book about 24 hours ago and I've finished it because I couldn't put it down. Highly recommend this book to anyone who likes romance or a great romcom.

I was intrigued by the description of this book, despite not knowing much about chickens other than they make so kind of noises. It was an easy read and I enjoyed it, but there were a couple of points that stood out to me. It was almost an enemies to lovers trope, but it seemed from the start that Madeline disliked George more than George disliked Madeline. Some of the major plot points (I'm looking at you, first kiss!) seemed rushed to me. The way certain minor storylines wrapped up made sense, but some of the major ones were missing some anticipation for me.
Overall, it was an enjoyable read, and it definitely had me looking up d'Eccles and Sebastopols.
Thank you to NetGalley and Kasey Morris for the opportunity to read this book in exchange for my honest review.

Love & Chickens

Publish Date Feb 27, 2024
What a simply adorable book with chickens!! The cover was so cute and it made this book jump up in my TBR- well done!! The characters of Madeline and George were so well done and I loved learning more about them as the story carried on. Who wins a trip to England at a Chicken Show? Madeline does apparently and man she has a surprise when she arrives. I love how George Cooper changed from George F***ing Cooper to F***ing George Cooper.
I love how the book addresses the change of someone who is able to do whatever they want to having a disability due to an accident. As a person who has gone through the change of being able to walk, work and travel with no problems to having to slow down, use aides and rerouting my trips due to pain and exhaustion this book nailed it on the head without it being too much. Many don't realize how much a change in your body changes you not only physically but how you think others see you and you push through and then pay for it later. Thank you Kasey Morris for this - I didn't know I needed this character but it is refreshing to read!!
Chad.... oh Chad - gross - use your cane Madeline (not Maddie). He is a great character to hate & the name is perfect...
Urban Dictionary - CHAD - a stereotypical alpha male that is "cocky"
Cambridge Dictionary - CHAD - the paper fragments punched out after a hole punch.
I am glad Mads realized what a douche canoe he was. Who knew there is cheating in bird shows.... don't be a hanging Chad. Gross Chad Gross!!
This is a wonderful book and I enjoyed watching George & Madeline go from enemies to partners with the bonus of her finding out what a great guy he is. Who needs a dozen roses when you have chickens? This book was a great glimpse into a world that is full of a community that are passionate about what they love. I also enjoyed the friendships within this book and hope there may be more because the characters are so fun to read. Well done, Kasey Morris and I look forward to reading more from you in the future.
Thank you to NetGalley and Kasey Morris for the ARC in exchange for my honest opinion. Keep reading and finding your next adventure in black and white.

I had the honor of receiving this ARC, courtesy of Kasey Morris & Netgalley, &and I must say, it did not disappoint!
I normally wouldn't go for a book about chickens, however love and romance is definitely up my alley! Going into this book, I was unsure of what to expect but to my surprise, it was nicely put together. The author found a way to incorporate chickens, a hate-to-love romance, a scheming potential love interest, physical disability & dealing with it in everyday life, drama, and not to mention a few spicy scenes into one book and I loved it.
Whenever the author mentioned a breed of chicken/poultry, it was never in an overwhelming way, but rather in a way that makes you curious and want to see the beauty being refered to. (So don't be detered by the title! Even if you're not a chicken person, the romance in this book will keep you engulfed!)
Madeline & George's relationship was fate! Madeline went from disliking George so much, practically hating him to falling in love with him. The events leading up to them falling in love were so great, at some point I thought to myself "There is no escaping this man!" Lol.
It was such a great read and I thoroughly enjoyed it from start to finish!

This book might just be my number one rom-com of 2024! I have never had such a fun time reading a romance book before! It’s so silly and fun but also covers serious topics in a way that makes you feel for the characters.
Instantly I found myself wishing to me friends with Madeline! I think she is one of my most favorite female main characters!
The story itself is so intriguing! I have grown up around chickens my whole life as my family has them, but I didn’t know anything about poultry events and now I’m interested in learning more after reading this book.
The banter and tension between Madeline and George is so fun! I think they are just perfect for each other:)
This truly might be one of the most well written debut rom-coms I’ve ever read!
I highly, highly recommend! (But especially to those who 1. Grew up with chickens 2. Have a serious affection for Pride and Prejudice.

Thank you to the author for the arc copy in exchange for my honest review!

"What?"
"I love you," he said again. "I love you. Do you need me to say it once more?"
"Maybe just one more time."
"I love you," he said, and then he kissed me again.
"And I love you," I told him.

Short Summary: (From Author's Website)
Three years ago, Madeline Bennett was at the peak of her chicken showing career. Then, everything changed for the worse.
George Cooper, an arrogant English poultry judge, discounts Madeline’s prize rooster at The National, the biggest and most important bird show in the United States. That same night, an accident simultaneously cripples her leg and kills almost the entirety of her prized flock.
Now, Madeline is back on the show circuit, trying to start over. What she isn’t prepared for is seeing George again—the man whom she’s come to consider her most ‘fowl’ enemy.
Feathers fly, and, despite a frustrating attraction that develops against their mutual better judgment, Madeline decides she’s done with George for good—until an investigation into a corrupt poultry judge on the show circuit forces the pair back together.
My thoughts:
I loved all the attention to the details when it came to all the poultry competitions and the drama . I never knew I'd be so interested in chicken/goose beef. (We love you Sir Lancelot). I do wish we had gotten more George/Mads interactions, but I still enjoyed it! (view spoiler) So I would definitely recommend this to everyone who loves chickens, rom-coms, or both! :)
The chemistry of the characters was making me giggle and kick my feet in the air. 🤭
✨Thank you NetGalley and Kasey Morris for proving me with an ARC of this awesome book ✨

When I read the description for this book, I was immediately intrigued. I knew nothing about chicken shows going into reading this, but the author did such an incredible job of teaching me about the chicken world. This book had me googling different chicken and geese breeds left and right, and now I want my own little chicken running around the house like the main character did!
This was such a cute and comforting romance novel, with the perfect amount of witty banter, competition, and conflict. It definitely gave Pride & Prejudice vibes throughout, especially with the miscommunication at the beginning that caused their dislike of each other. This book also featured a strong female friendship that I loved!
I am very excited for this book to be released next week, and I can’t wait to see what else Kasey Morris writes! Thank you to the author, NetGalley, and the publishers for allowing me to read and review this story.

A enjoyable 180 pages, there was a large insight into the world of poultry competitions that I didn’t know existed. The book felt slow paced, and took awhile to move along, and make things feel like they were happening. I feel like the relationships between the FMC and MMC could have been developed abit more. We don’t get to really understand what begins to draw the FMC to him, other than 1 or 2 conversations and she suddenly is like hmm maybe I don’t hate him.
I was able to read this ARC for free thanks to NetGalley and I have left a review

Thanks for the early access - net gallery! Very cute little book. I honestly loved learning about the world of chickens and geese while having an enemies to lovers story. Good job!!

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
I adored this unique romance story set in the world of chicken competitions!
Before reading this book I knew hardly anything about chickens, so being a chicken person is definitely not a requirement. The author did an amazing job of explaining how the competitions work without the information feeling out of place! I also looked up pretty much every single type of bird mentioned throughout the story (I like to be able picture things correctly in my head). This is not necessary, but I highly recommend doing it because some of the birds were so stinkin' cute!
Anyway, on to the actual review! The author did a great job of developing all of the main characters and side characters. They all had a good amount of depth and the two main characters, Madeline and George, had realistic character growth. I loved seeing their relationship developed over the course of the book!
Another strong aspect of this book is how the author was able to weave in the chicken show politics seamlessly with the romance plot line! It made the book so interesting and enjoyable to read! I also really liked the nods to Pride and Prejudice that were scattered throughout since it's one of my favorite books.
Overall, I would definitely recommend this book to readers who want a unique romance story, those who love Pride and Prejudice, and people who love chickens (or animals in general)!
Thank you to the author and Netgalley for the arc!

This book was so sweet! The premise was unique and the whole read just felt silly (in a fun, good way) and lighthearted- I read it in one sitting! If you like regency era inspired reads, Bridget Jones’ Diary, Pride and Prejudice, Best in Show, and fluffy romcoms, this is for you!
This was a fast read, was light on the enemies to lovers (he fell first) trope, light on the smut (if that’s what your looking for), and had a more plot-forward feel… and the plot was wholly different than anything else I’ve read out of romcoms lately- it was delightfully quirky.
Some of the character development and plot felt a little rush in parts but overall this was a charming read from Kasey Morris and I’d recommend giving it a go when it releases later in the month.

This was such a cute read!! Who knew chickens could be so interesting and exciting. I’ve shown animals but never knew about chicken shows!
I loved this story! It was well written and I loved the characters. The chemistry between Maddie and George was excellent! Their dialogue and witty banter was so great. Maddie had this spunky attitude that I loved as well. And her friend Patricia was the definition of a true friend, loved her and her geese. Overall, I don’t know what I expected from this book, but it’s love and chickens and was a super cute read. Fast paced and it had me hooked from the beginning. Definitely a great contemporary romance and a plus if you love chickens!

Competition breeds power and corruption most fowl! The world of poultry shows makes an interesting and unique backdrop for a strong set of characters in a story lightly mirroring Pride and Prejudice. Good storyline and well developed characters make this a fun read for sure.

-Semi Spoilers-
Thanks so much for the arc! This novel was even cuter than I expected. Just a wholesome tale. Going in with no expectations- just a cute book with a cute title-but it delivered! Enemies to lovers, a little scandal and intrigue, and a happy ending! What more can you ask for in a book based in the world of showing chickens?! George and Mads had a tumultuous start, with Mads having such a traumatic association with George, it’s hard for Mads to get out of her own way. But, in the end, “It all comes down to love and chickens, doesn’t it?” 👏

This book was so cute! I love a Pride and Prejudice retelling, and this was very well done. How can anything be better than Mr. Darcy in grey sweatpants--with tattoos?? *chef's kiss* I loved the chicken aspect, especially since I have no knowledge of chickens or birds in general. I didn't feel like the information was annoying, but it was given in a very useful way that actually made me curious about chickens. I would definitely read more by this author.

Thank you Kasey Morris and Netgalley for the ARC. I thought the premise behind the story was new and fresh, using the world of showing chickens as the background. But as someone that really has no interest in chickens, it got to be a little much for me. The enemies to lovers story was cute and played out as expected. I love a good happily ever after. But I could have done with a little less chickens and more depth to George and Mads relationship.
I still enjoyed reading it

I liked this book , you dont have to be achicken lover to enjoy a good love story ! It was diffrent it had chicken drama!

Who knew chickens could spark something romantic? Who could give a backstory that has you crying about a chicken? Kasey Morris. I never would have expected to find myself encompassed in a book about chickens and romance. The beginning tends to keep the greater focus on Madeline and her chicken shows as well as a dip into her past while trying to hate George. I unexpectedly enjoyed the chicken show logistics we learned about and spent too much time figuring out what each breed mentioned looked like because she made it sound so interesting. The second half brings in some more tension and drama. Kasey had a plot twist within the judges I did not expect and could not predict how it would end. I would love to see an epilogue of William at the end in the future.
There was witty banter, some true hate that turned into love, and friendships developed. I hope there will be another with her new journey, chicken-wise and relationship-wise.

This book has everything I didn’t know I needed! Who knew chicken shows were so big and the judges were so attractive?! I loved the main characters, I loved the storyline and I loved Elsie the chicken and Sir Lancelot the goose!
