This was such a fun book! I love a cozy murder mystery. I know this doesn't fall perfectly into the cozy mystery category but I gave me the same feeling so I'm counting it! I had no idea this was a series (let alone book 11) before starting the book but I had no issues understanding what was happening and there weren't too many call backs to previous events to where it got annoying (that definitely exists in series sometimes). It also makes me want to back track and listen to the earlier books in the series. Overall great book with a fantastic narrator

My first book of the series but very fun! Fans of Stephanie Plum will enjoy this: same fun banter (though a little less ridiculous) and actually has some resolution for the character. Audiobook was excellent.

Thank you to NetGalley and the author for my advance copy of this audiobook

First I would like to thank Dreamscape Media for providing me a copy of the audiobook in exchange for my hones opinion.

This is the story of Kate Rossetti, detective, who almost runs over a dead body in a rug on while driving with her man-panion. While trying to solve the murder Kate learns more about herself and her relationships with her friends and family.

What I Loved:
- Team, Kate’s team at the police station are a fun group who cares about their jobs and each other who tries to bring some levity to the darkness of their jobs
- Family, Kate is close with her family and I love that her mom works close-by and her sister was so excited to share news with Kate
- Change, Kate is working on making changes in her live including prioritizing people over her job for the first time and its refreshing to see that in the story
- Twist, I could kind of see the twist coming but it was still fun to figure out who ended up being the big bad guy and how he is caught
- Audiobook quality, per usual the quality of the audiobook was amazing and the narrator did a great job differentiating between the large cast of characters

I was so excited to read this book as it gives a lot of Stephanie Plum vibes with a big cast of characters and centered around a strong woman just trying to get by. Since this is part of a series I cannot wait to get my hands on the other books and learn more about Kate’s backstory. If you are looking for a cozy-ish mystery with a great cast of characters and an overall fun case I would absolutely recommend this book and my audiobook lovers out there will not be disappointed.

I received this as an audiobook and enjoyed listening to this cozy mystery. The story was light and fast moving and although I joined the series at this book I didn't feel it hampered my understanding of the characters, but I did feel that a lot of interactions between the characters would have had greater meaning if I had read the others in the series. The only thing that really annoyed me was the narrators voice of Jim/Gem. The pace of speech for him and the fake english accent really grated..

DNF. I found this incredibly cringy and awkward to read. I got second-hand embarrassment from the cheesy one-liners and was beyond annoyed at the fake "girl power" that the author was attempting (and failing) to create with the strong, powerful, independent female lead who's a badass detective... but is also dating a perfect can-do-no-wrong billionaire and hates wearing dresses because they detract from how she's Not Like Other Girls. This book was definitely not for me.

I cannot believe I only found this series at book 11. I hope the first 10 are as well done as number 11.

I will say, I’m not certain if this was a mystery with a romance or a romance with a mystery.

The characters are great. Very well written and developed. None seem to be overly bogged down in their personal baggage, but they are not flat, springing fully formed into the story, either.
As a stand alone book, it kind of works, but leaves you wondering what you have missed. Not having read the preceding 10 installments, I cannot speak to what is covered there. It is possible to read and enjoy this book by itself, but it does feel there are pieces missing.

Thank you to NetGalley and Dreamscape Media for providing a free audioARC in exchange for an honest review.

Perhaps coming in 11 books into the series was a bad move but I struggled to connect with the characters. In particular, Kate’s love interest appeared 2D while the constant reminder of just how ‘unconventional’ Kate is (eg people remembering her as ‘the detective in the red dress’) made her difficult to enjoy.

Ultimately, this is probably a great series and is perfect for a specific audience however I feel I missed the mark with this one and will not score it too harshly to reflect this.

This was thoroughly entertaining, and I loved catching up with Kate Rosetti and the many things going on in her life, both professionally and personally (especially personally). Watching Kate open up to a real relationship even as she investigates a multi-layer mystery is both endearing and intriguing. Add in her quirky co-workers' reactions and contributions to both and it makes it all the more amusing. This is one of those books that makes you sad it is over, and now I am excited to see what the future holds for this likeable cast of characters..

I loved everything about Shoot for the Moon by Gina LaManna. This was my first read by this author, and now I can’t wait to check out the entire Kate series.

Good mystery/detector story. Lots of side stories going on but well written. Entertaining and a quick listen.

This is book 11 in a series, I haven’t read any of the other books and kept up, but it might have been nice to know some of the other personalities in the storyline. Kate is a homicide detective that cannot ever seem escape her job. While out on a date, a dead body rolls off the truck ahead of them. Seriously?? This is a murder mystery that involves a lot of moving parts and more questions the answers. Kate is grappling with so much. The murder, a kidnapped child, a whackadoodle barely pregnant sister, way too much crossover between her work and family life and serious matters of the heart. It’s an easy well narrated mystery. Definitely going back to listen to some of the other in the series. Upgraded to 4 from what would have been a 3.5 rating if half stars available.

I can’t believe this is the first Detective Kate Rosetti Mystery I’ve read! I love a good women detective series where each book could be a standalone, but there is an overarching story. I can’t wait to go back to book one of this series.

This was such a fun detective, murder, mystery book. The book was very fast paced and an easy quick read.

If you love women detective books like the Tracy Crosswhite series or the Bree Taggert series, you will love this book!

Narrator Suzie Althens was amazing. I love her warm voice and she brought this book to life.

Thank you to Dreamscape Media, Gina LaManna, and NetGalley for an ARC audio copy.

I really liked this book. While this was a police procedural, it didn't take itself too seriously. Kate would work with various members of the police department, but it didn't get too heavy into the detective work. The dialogue was light and humorous. There were always developments in the relationship between Kate and Gem, her billionaire beau. The plot was well-paced and wrapped up nicely at the end.

My only issue was with the narrator's pronunciation of Gem's name. I seriously thought his name was "Jim" and was wondering why the author used the names "Jim" and "Jimmy" for two important characters. It wasn't until I was recording this on Goodreads that I saw the name was "Gem".

FYI, this book was published a few months ago, but it looks like the audiobook is finally coming out.

Thank you to Dreamscape Media and NetGalley for an ARC audiobook in exchange for an honest review.

A light, enjoyable murder mystery that'll be a fun read for genre readers, but something about the relationship between our bada** detective and billionaire Gem doesn't quite work for me. Gem just doesn't feel like a real person, just a credit card with abs.
