This was a ‘nice’ little story, simple pictures, simple dialogue, I imagine every small child will love to join in the search for chameleon but I think the book may lose its appeal after a couple of readings.

This is a book about an old man looking for his chameleon, except he has never seen it.

I definitely had fun reading this. The story was enjoyable and the art was pleasing to look at. The book gives you the opportunity to look for the chameleon alongside the old man, which is quite the challenge (even I had a bit of a struggle). The book is great for kids since it's an easy read and it let's them explore the book by looking for the chameleon.

This is a perfect storytime read: not too long/limited text per page, interactive look-and-find moments, a phrase for all to join in and shout, and a fun storyline. Come Out, Come Out, Chameleon! would be great for the 3-5 crowd.

This is an adorable story about a man and his hunt for his camouflaged chameleon.

I loved the textured crayon illustrations, and had great fun searching through the illustrations for the chameleon. The way the chameleons hiding place is revealed on alternate pages will ensure the book is just as enjoyable for younger kids who might not pick up on the more abstract hiding places!

A great read for younger children to share with their grown ups, with text that is simple for early readers.

Come Out, Come Out, Chameleon is a fun book about a person that has a pet chameleon that they've never actually seen. Every time they THINK they've glimpsed the chameleon, it disappears again. I think children will particularly enjoy the artwork in this book as the chameleon is hidden on each page. On some pages, I found the chameleon relatively quickly, while on other pages it was more challenging. The story has the potential to be an interactive read aloud by having children search for the chameleon and then call for it to come out once the owner discovers the special trick to finding the chameleon. I love that this story is simple, fun, and uncomplicated. I think it would be the perfect read for older toddlers and young preschoolers!

An old man has a new chameleon. But he’s not actually seen it! He takes us around his house and garden and tells us where he thinks he may have seen it. The man gets sad at the thought of not meeting his new pet until he discovers chameleon care instructions stuck to his shoe. And the instructions tell him exactly what to do if he can’t find it…

The simple text is easy to read, it’s great for a beginner reader and the refrain is perfect for joining in. We love the bold colourful illustrations – they’re perfect for chameleon spotting! In some pages the chameleon is easier to spot than others, it took us ages to find it in the garden!

A delightfully whimsical story and pictures. An elderly man can’t find his chameleon. His trusty dog helps him with this. This is one of those books that will just make you smile. I received a free advance reader copy, and I am submitting my review voluntarily. Highly recommend.

When you have a pet chameleon, it can be tricky to keep track of where he is. Did you spot him in the bathroom or catch a glimpse in your bedroom, or is he actually a figment of your imagination? There is only one thing for it, you must shout and see if he responds..."Come out, come out, Chameleon!"

This lovely book will have you and your little ones guessing on the first read, getting your magnifying glasses out for the second and then for the third to the hundredth, having fun pretending that you can't spot it so that your little person can giggle and play the game, help you out and feel super proud of themselves for spotting it first.

What a delightful interactive children's book about an old man, his dog, and his chameleon that he can never quite seem to find. I love the name, the colorful illustrations, and the interactive storyline where kids can try to locate the chameleon along with the reader. I also thought it was cute how they illustrated the little dog spotting the chameleon while the older man had his back turned. I can just picture kids laughing about this little nugget of information, as if they were in on it with the dog.☺️

I will definitely be looking for this adorable book when it comes out in March, and if you have little ones in your life, you should too.

This picture book was so much fun to read! I especially loved the detail of the note stuck to the old man’s shoe. The bright colors and illustrations were very appealing as well.

Another one that isn’t *quite* as interactive as it seems, but still very fun. The man in the book knows he has a pet chameleon around here somewhere…but he’s never seen him! I’m interested to see this in print, because on the page it’s a little hard to tell where the chameleon was without flipping back and forth. But I think preschool kiddos would have fun trying to spot the chameleon (and the dog’s reactions are pretty funny too - he clearly sees it every time!). And of course it’s great fun to yell “Come out, come out, chameleon!” at the end.

I love the type of children's books that are easy to ask questions and keep kids engaged in the story. Come Out, Come Out, Chameleon is about a a man looking for his pet chameleon. Throughout each page, you can guess with your kids about where you think the chameleon could be. The last page will even give you a good laugh. This is a perfect, short picture book for kids. I will definitely be grabbing the physical copy of this when it comes out in March!
