Constant action and stressful situations kept me hooked from the first page. I enjoy these characters and am anxious to read about what happens next.

Honestly, this book just didn’t really do it for me and I hate that because I was so excited to get approved for it. It was just a bit too slow for me.

*4.5

Jess and Troy are really good together but she still has so much she needs to work through. All she wanted to do was help Violet and her daughter no matter the cost to her. Troy is amazing and just wants to be by her side through all of it. He was not phased at all by the fact that she has a daughter. I want them to be happy together and for her to be able to see her daughter. I hope everything ends up great in the final book.

🦋ARC REVIEW🦋

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

🦋 One More Betrayal is the second book in the Hidden Secrets Trilogy. This book picks up directly after the first book ends. It continues to tell the story of the dual POV characters of Jess and Troy (present) as they navigate a new relationship with Jess holding onto her secrets and trying to heal from past trauma, and Angelique and Johan (past) whose friendship blossoms while they fight on opposite sides of WWII.
I thought the first hundred pages of the book about Jess and Troy was a little slow. Angelique and Johan’s story peaked my interest which made me continue with the book. After about 1/3rd of the book, both stories started to pick up and kept me very engaged. I think Jess is one of my favorite main characters in a long time. She is very strong and determined to heal. She might have setbacks with her PTSD, but she works through them each and every time . Also no matter what she is dealing with she always helps her friends with whatever they need. I like how Troy is very caring and supportive of Jess. There is a small point at the end of the book where I did not like him, but luckily the storyline was misinterpreted and was quickly resolved.
Also, in this book, I enjoyed all the friends and I am glad that Jess told them about her secrets. They can then prove to her that they won’t leave her side. I also love the side story of the support dogs.
Overall, I enjoyed this book, especially the dual POV stories. Both stories end up with a cliffhanger, so I will be on the edge of my seat until the next book comes out!

Be alerted, minor spoilers !!
The story of Jessica and Troy, which started in the first book of the trilogy, One more secret, continues in a great way. Jessica really settles in more and more in Maple Ridge, she's building friendships, seeming to benefit from the therapy she takes and is slowly on her way to recovery. Her trust in Troy starts to build and the fabulous work he and his brothers are setting up. Troy is doing everything a man can do to help her to the point where he finally can declare his ever-growing love for her. A bit more honesty about some of his actions would be advised, as it will be an issue further in the story. Will someone please smack him in the head?!
Danger however looms over Jessica's happiness when she gets acquaintance with a young mother in her town. The encounters turn into some hefty situations. Jessica again chooses someone else's luck above her own happiness, and I couldn't fantom her decisions. She draws strength from the story she discovered on Iris. Tension in the story is more embedded in the story than in the first book. It gives all kinds of exciting twists and turns. The cliffhanger toward the third part of this trilogy is a surprising moment in the story, yet I do want to know how this all gets her and Troy to a happy end in Maple Ridge.
The second storyline, set in WW II, develops as a great, impossible love story. Angelique and Johann grow closer and it does not go unnoticed. Will Iris be able to get through with al the danger work she is doing for the resistance and return to her home? The cliffhanger on this storyline is at a dangerous moment where the story can go any which way.
I am highly anticipating part 3, curious to see how Ms. Lindenblatt will merge both storyline into one satisfying ending (no pressure here...) And how Troy and Jessica handle all the revealing in the last chapter, if Iris and Johann will end up together and, not the least, if Amelia will learn the truth about her background.
This is my honest review in exchange for an ARC of the e-book.

This is a continuation from the first book. Things are finally getting better for Troy and Jess. They have a good thing going and things are finally looking up. Once Jess discovers her friend Violet needs help, she is desperate to do anything to help, even if it means ending the best thing that ever happened to her. There is so much going on, that no one knows about, and it all affects Jess and Troy. Will things work out in her favor and will she be able to keep her secrets safe? It ends in a cliffhanger and now I am dying to read book three! I was given an ARC through NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

Book 2 in the Hidden Secrets trilogy and it's a cracker. This picks straight up from One More Secret - literally - so the books need to be read in order. Once again it's an adventure with Troy and Jess in the present and another timeline with the diaries of Angelique, a spy during World War Two.

Jess is navigating her PTSD and her secrets. Troy is falling in love and also navigating her issues - sometimes unwittingly. It's a small town so there's new friendships and kindness and meddling. Dogs add some light to it all. The pacing is great, not all the goings-on relate to Jess's past, and her protectiveness and loyalty are not always helpful.

If I had a quibble, Troy seems to be the last to know everything, but Jess' experience with men makes this plausible. Looking forward to Book 3 and hopefully a happily-ever-after for Troy and Jess!

Thank you NetGalley, and the author for the ARC. Opinions are my own.

Oh my! I just couldn’t get enough of the highs and lows, emotional twists, and suspense! I had to go back and read the first book again because I wanted all the feels to be fresh when I dove into this second book of the Hidden Secrets series. It was definitely the right move.
The second book is just as emotional as the first but with so much more suspense and surprises.
I don't know what’s in store for us in the 3rd book but I hope Stina puts us out of our misery sooner rather than later. I need to know how this all plays out for Jess and Troy.
5 stars!!!

One More Betrayal by Stina Lindenblatt

WHAT I THOUGHT:
I have been looking forward to this book for MONTHS. I read the first one, which ended on a cliffhanger, and book picked up right where the last one ended. I love the mental health representation. I find it super realistic and relatable for a lot of people. Stina Lindenblatt did a great job of showing PTSD and domestic violence, and not romanticizing it.

The second story with Angelique during WWII was peppered into this book in a way that not only kept me interested, but kept me on the edge of my seat. I wanted to find out what happened with Troy and Jess, but I also wanted to read about Angelique. It was a war for which timeline I wanted to read more.

This book also ended on a cliffhanger, and I will be IMpatiently waiting for the third book in the trilogy.

♡Some open door scenes.
