An in-depth guide how to break through creative block. Accessible writing and easy to follow tips. I can also see this being helpful for scientific writing/ how to write a thesis.

Artists are prone to ups and down. It doesn't matter if you're in dance, or writing, or painting, or music ... you name it (and there are many more ways to express the world). There are many books on managing finances and studios, collaborations, and networks.

Ginsberg focuses on keeping your heart beating - or restoring your resilience if you've burned out. How do you get back in the groove and do what you're designed to love? Here are practical tips on motivation, organization, accountability, and confidence, whether you're in a season or success, waiting, or failure. You'll like the creative check-ins at the end of each chapter, too.

Recommended for all creatives. Before, during, or after your inevitable artistic crash.

I'm struggling to return to painting and had hoped this book would set me on a productive path.

Unfortunately, it did not.

I'm headed into AI generated art now. It solves the expense of art supplies and the storage issue of unsold canvases.

When reading the title of this book I thought: this book is for me, that gradually changed while reading.

What I really like about this book is the amount of different people who talk about their creative process, so you experience situations from all kinds of perspectives. That always feeds you with ideas.

There were also a number of things that I found difficult in this book:

The information in this book hops from topic to topic very quickly. Quite off-the-cuff. I would have liked more explanation, description or depth on a number of topics.

While reading I felt the urge to restructure information in this book.

This book has chapter titles, and within the chapters there are very general subheadings. I would have benefited from a little more detail. Now it often felt like I was swimming in information and I didn't know where I was floating. As a reader, that makes me tend to drop out.

All in all, a nice collection of thoughts around creativity and resilience. I would recommend this book if you haven't read many books about creativity and making.

I would like to thank NetGalley and Bold Story press for the ARC I received in exchange for an honest review

This book is like a pep talk for your creative soul. It gets real about the ups and downs of creating, from the pure joy to the "why am I even doing this?" moments. The author shares stories from other artists and throws in her own tips and tricks. It's like having a supportive friend who understands the struggle and wants to help you tap into your creative power. So, if you're feeling stuck, unmotivated, or just need a boost, "Creative Resilience" would be a good resource.

I found this book to be really hit and miss. There was some really useful and insightful messages, but there was also a lot of waffle! Unfortunately the 'waffle' outweighed the good!

For anyone who has created something, knows that there are moments when you struggle to align your vision to your reality and this book takes the approach of self reflection, insights and personal experiences from artists all over the world on some of the most common struggles an artist experiences.
It is well narrated and easy to read.
Thanks Netgalley for the eARC, and I for one truly appreciate the emphasis on time and rituals and routine- because that is something I have been struggling with as a Writer.

Creative Resilience : Reclaiming Your Power as an Artist. This book aims to help artists from all walks of life navigate and overcome common pitfalls and problems. The author uses stories and examples from a variety of creatives, and uses examples from her own experiences. I think it is a good book that will resonate with lots of stuck artists, even though it didn't resonate with me personally.

I liked the thoughtful quotes and self reflection questions that are mixed in with explanations and examples of what it looks like to maintain your creative practice. This book couldn’t have come about in a better time for me…I have been struggling since entering parenthood to hold on to my art making practice and spark. When you put so much energy into other areas of your life, sometimes things that are important to you get set aside. When this happens, you might lose confidence in your ability or question whether you should put time into creating.
This book gives some much needed guidance to people in a similar situation as me! It provides inspiring tools to help set your creativity and ambitions in motion again.

Truly helpful book on creativity and being a professional artist. I'll go back through the "Creative Check-ins" to use as journal prompts. I have really wanted and needed a book like this! Thank you so much for the ARC!
