This is for the romance readers that love a second chance romance.
Blumberg’s writing is warm and inviting, making you feel right at home with the characters. The protagonist’s journey of rediscovery and growth was both relatable and inspiring, and I loved the way she navigates her past while embracing new opportunities.
Overall, Second Tide's the Charm is a delightful tale about love, community, and the beauty of starting anew. If you’re looking for a feel-good read that warms your heart, this one is definitely worth checking out!

While I loved the theme of getting people aware of sharks and science, there seemed to be something missing. I had a hard time staying interested but was able to push through. I think this is a great young adult book for those needing motivation to see if they’re on the right path. I’m not sure if this would be entertaining enough for adults as there’s not a lot of intimacy.

This book was ok. I do usually enjoy a second chance romance, but this one struggled to hold my attention. The chemistry between Adrian and Hope didn’t seem as strong as I would have expected, and overall I got bored of the book.

This my first time reading a book by Chandra Blumberg. I am head over heels for second chance romance tropes. It the couple to see where they went wrong and a chance to get it right. The main characters Hope and Adrian are marine biologists and photographers. I not a fan of sharks but the insight that was given was very interesting. At times Hope and Adrian grated on my nerves. The two were meant to be together as time went on they did realize it as it took them some time.
I received an ARC via NetGalley Harlequin Trade Publishing and Carnary Press; I am leaving my review voluntarily.

The best way to describe this second chance romance is cozy and sweet. Hope and Adrian are both shark enthusiasts whose lives are thrown back together as Hope re-enters the shark research scene. It’s a fun dual POV, where both characters are so drawn to each other, but both are a little scared to jump into the deep end.
I’m glad that neither of them did anything super terrible to each other, and the tension between them was so great! I’m not always into a second chance romance, but Hope and Adrian have won me over! I feel like both characters are fantastic AND I even loved the side characters. Thanks so much to NetGalley and the publisher for this e-ARC! I thoroughly enjoyed it!

Where do I start???!! This was actually very boring and took me three weeks to read. Adrian and hope had no chemistry what’s so ever. They were better off as friends instead of lovers. The book book definitely had potential but fail flat for me.

Thank you NetGalley for the opportunity to ARC read Second tides the charm!
I enjoyed this more than I thought I would going into this read. The second chance trope with forced proximity was the perfect way to end summer with.

I thought this was very good and I will have to add this to the shop shelves. Thank you for the chance for us to review.

I felt like we were too in the leads heads here. The beginning was interesting and I was hoping for this book where they would reconnect over this excursion and instead we got a lot of back and forth about why they should've never broken up and the constant longing for each other. I didn't find the book particularly humors or the couple to have any type of chemistry together nor did I get enough water facts to be interested so it just dragged aimlessly.

This was my first time reading this author, and I can definitely see myself picking up another one of their books. The story centers on two marine biologists, Hope and Adrian, but the side characters play a significant role in the plot. The story, characters, and situations felt relatable and realistic. I loved the theme of found family, which adds depth to the romance, and the slow-burn element was perfect. Overall, it was a fantastic read!

I have been reading too many second-chance romances because Second Tide's the Charm was just ok to me. I did really enjoy it looking back but while reading it I felt myself losing interest. I did enjoy the banter between our main characters and thought it was a solid romance. I should have waited to read this one instead of pushing myself to finish it.

This was cute! I def found the chemistry of these two palpable. I loved the representation of two black marine biologists. But for me it was just cute. I do prefer my adult romance to contain spice and more passion. And that’s no negative thing for the author, it’s hard to find romances with no sex. I will definitely recommend this on my platform for those whom do not like spice.

This was my first time reading this author. This was a cute second chance romance. I enjoyed learning about sharks throughout the book.

Second Tide's the Charm brings a fun and lighthearted second-chance romance set on a shark research boat, adding a fresh twist to the typical love story. Marine biologist Hope Evans and her ex-boyfriend, Adrian Hollis-Parker, find themselves reunited after years apart, both professionally and personally. While Hope hopes to focus on her career and move past their relationship, working in close quarters with Adrian reignites old feelings and unresolved emotions.
Chandra Blumberg skillfully blends romance with marine science, showcasing her passion for sharks and adding an educational element to the book. The characters are well-crafted, and their chemistry feels realistic, though some readers found the romance more subtle than expected. The pacing is a bit slow at times, with repetitive internal dialogue, but the overall feel-good nature of the story makes it enjoyable.
For fans of cozy romances and second chances, this book offers a sweet escape with a unique setting and relatable characters. Second Tide's the Charm is perfect for readers who enjoy light, feel-good stories with a side of marine biology.

i liked this! it had sharks, second chance, love, found family, & so much more! i loved getting to see the characters grow from who they used to be to who they are now.
it felt rushed in some places, but it was overall a good read!!

I enjoyed this book quite a bit. As a science nerd myself (and a lover of sharks), the professions of our main characters were really engaging and fun to read about. As someone who does NOT enjoy the miscommunication trope, this book really did a good job. Early on, I was definitely thinking “god just communicate with each other” but I feel like the rest of the story does a great job making up for that by having them communicate much more clearly every step of the way.
The third act “break up” was also entirely tolerable which I always love. Also the friendships in this book were lovely. The focus is definitely on the romance but our supporting characters were still lovable and not just outlets for discussions about the MCs.
Excited to keep an eye on this author going forward!

This book merges two of my favorite things: a romance story and sharks. Blumberg's novel is amazing! I breezed through this and loved every second. I can't wait to see other amazing reviews!

The unique premise of this second chance romance had me excited to read this new release! In the end, I liked it but didn’t love it.
✅What worked for me:
*Marine biologists studying sharks on YouTube
*Second chance, forced proximity, workplace romance
*Clean language, closed door
❌What didn’t work for me:
*Way too repetitive
*Angst level more like YA
*Not much was happening, making it feel too long
Thank you to NetGalley and Canary Street Press for this free EGalley in return for an honest review.

Highly recommended for those of us who like to imagine romantic bedroom hijinx mixed with actually scientific knowledge this book is a keeper. I usually get bored with second chance romances by halfway, but Chandra Blumberg's writing kept me invested.

Ok so one I didn’t know this was a closed door romance which isn’t an issue but it’s definitely something I like to know going into a book. This was such a cozy read. It’s a second chance romance between two biologists and I had a blast learning so much about sharks. I do have to say that the internal dialogue got a bit receptive and dragged in some parts for me. I just wanted to shake both Hope and Adrian at times and scream at them to just be together. I do wish their desire for each other would have been a bit more obvious, and I don’t mean physically. Sometimes it felt like they’d be better off as friends instead of partners. I feel like this is a book that could be easily adapted to Hallmark but they’d need to sprinkle a little more palpable romance in it. I did enjoy it though and would recommend to someone who was looking for something cozy to read.
