It was just okay for me. I don't mind childhood friends to lovers, but I think the miss for me was the actual story that supported their chemistry and desire to be together. It felt flat.

The romance is there, the quirky characters, some of my favorite tropes in romance, just everything. They’re all such cute comfort reads.

What a perfect conclusion to the Lovelight Farms series. BK Borison has created a perfect world, and I will continue to read all of her books!

How fun to be back at Lovelight Farms, I always loved Charlie and wanted to see story play out. He was just the sweetest thing, serious golden retriever energy. Nova is fierce and independent, and Charlie has been interested for forever. After some serious slow burn, they finally decide to have one night with no strings. One turns into more, and it’s such a great story to watch unfold. This is the perfect ending to the series.

Hi. I'm Megan. I'd like to publicly apologize to Business Casual by B.K. Borison. Last week I soft DNF'd it. I just wasn't vibing & friends with benefits isn't my favorite. Yesterday I picked it back up & FLEW through the rest. I've been smiling, giggling, crying in a Starbucks parking lot. I ADORE CHARLIE & NOVA GIRL and I am so sorry for almost not giving a chance. 4.5 Stars. Please forgive me.

This was sooo sweet and the absolute perfect culmination to the Lovelight Farms series. Nova was cool and funny and Charlie... well I want to put Charlie in my pocket and keep him there for centuries. ARE YOU FORREAL WITH HIS LITTLE REQUEST IN THE EPILOGUE. He's an angel on this earth and I adore him.

🎧 The audiobook? Good, not great. I think it's one of the reasons I struggled with the book at first. Don't get me wrong, both narrators were strong and by the end I really liked them. I just didn't feel like their voices matched the characters I had in my head. BUT, not my choice. Still a very good audiobook and I'd recommend it!

Read if you like:

-Friends with benefits
-Best friend's brother
-Small towns

-Self-Growth (You don't have to be perfect!)
-Found family
-Easy, perfect banter
-No third act breakup
-Reverse grumpy sunshine
-🌶️🌶️🌶️

Thank you so much to Berkley for the ARC that I took over a year to read. 🫶

This is a really sweet and romantic read. The angst is fairly low but the longing is high and that is just they way I like my contemporary romance. I haven't read the others in the series but this one has inspired me to do that.

In Business Casual, we get the perfect opposites-attract romance — with all the laughs and all the feels.

Nova runs a fierce, female-owned tattoo shop and carries the weight of the world on her shoulders. She’s guarded, independent, and not one to ask for help. Then there’s Charlie — golden retriever energy in human form — working at a high-end investment firm and always putting others before himself. He’s been low-key flirting with Nova for ages, and one night, they finally decide to go for it. Neither of them is looking for a relationship... but that one night quickly turns into many, and soon, they’re in much deeper than expected.

Charlie absolutely stole my heart. He’s thoughtful, selfless, and so quietly tender in how he shows up for the people he loves. Nova? Tough as nails on the outside, but you can’t help but root for her to finally let someone in.

Their banter had me laughing out loud more than once, and their chemistry? Off the charts. But what really got me was how real their connection felt — this wasn’t just a steamy fling. Their relationship was built on friendship, vulnerability, and mutual care. Watching them work through their struggles and heal together was incredibly moving.

I went in expecting a fun, flirty rom-com — and ended up with a romance that was funny, heartfelt, and unexpectedly deep. Nova and Charlie are the real deal.

Thank you Berkley for the free book! I feel like this may have been BK’s spiciest so far?? And I was so there for those parts. Otherwise I wasn’t all that interested in the concerns each character had with their careers, they both were so busy but magically got all their work done on top of seeing each other so it never felt like the stakes were all that high or the moral that they needed to learn about avoiding burnout and making time for love was all that dire or important. Also WAY too many descriptions of how hands or legs or breaths were shaking/shaky, desperately needed a new way to describe being nervous or overwhelmed. Searched my kindle and it was at least 8 times, one time in back to back chapters. But otherwise the spice is so worth it in this. And although I didn’t really like books 2 & 3 (and they were both low key problematic in their BIPOC rep) this had a really nice balance of wrapping up with the ensemble cast while still having a romance focused on the 2 main characters. I fear I will be chasing the high that was book 1 forever but I’m glad to have listened to other readers and decided to read this one. Overall a nice experience.

What a way to end this series. I found so much of myself in Nova and several other characters here in Inglewild. I'm going to thoroughly miss this series and this universe. Reread worthy for sure!

Lovelight Farms is a series that I have thoroughly enjoyed and Business Casual is no exception. This time, the story revolves around Charlie, the half-brother of Stella (from the first book), and Nova, the younger sister of Beckett (from the second b00k). I really enjoyed the banter and romance between the two. I love the Gilmore Girls vibe of the town and how the characters from the previous books are intertwined in the story. Although I'm sad that there won't be any more in this series, I can't wait to read more from B. K. Boris in the future!

Nova Porter is the youngest sibling of Beckett, whose story is told in book #2, In the Weeds. She is a talented tattoo artist and is opening her own business, but is worried that it's just not quite ready to show to her biggest supporter, Beckett. She's not looking for a relationship, but for some reason, she is attracted to buttoned up banker, Charlie Milford. He's also attracted to her, and flirts with her shamelessly. To get it out of their systems, she proposes one night together. (cue the open door romance). It turns out that Charlie is Stella's brother, one that she just recently discovered, and he has been spending time in Inglewood getting to know her. I really enjoyed both Nova and Charlie. They are both hurting in different ways and have pieces of themselves that need to heal. They are explosive together (I had to fast forward the audio a few times), but their time together is definitely not the casual one night stand. It was intriguing to see Nova try to keep it that one, and Charlie falling head over heels. This was a great end to the series, with all the characters from previous books coming together in this one. A 5 star read, but I knocked off a star because of the descriptive love scenes.

Business Casual by B.K. Borison is a sweet and slow-burn romance that’s full of heart and just the right amount of steam. Set in the same world as the Lovelight series, it follows two lovable leads navigating workplace tension, vulnerability, and the risks of falling for someone who feels off-limits.

Borison’s signature charm shines through in her cozy writing style and relatable characters. The banter feels natural, and the emotional growth in the story gives it more depth than just a typical office romance. If you like your love stories with a touch of awkwardness, plenty of warmth, and some truly tender moments, this one's worth picking up.

Perfect for fans of small-town charm and messy-but-endearing characters figuring it all out.

This is my favorite book from this series. Nova and Charlie are the best couple. Their fun loving energy and chemistry makes them easy to root for. I loved that it wasn’t a slow burn and they let their feelings be known fairly quickly. The spice was just right.

3.5 star rating!
Thank you for the ARC.
I didn't realize when I requested this that it was part of a series lol so I read them out of order. I liked this one a lot better than the first in the series. I enjoyed the FMC and the MMC a lot. MMC was very kind and caring to not only her but his sister and that was refreshing. But why was it so spicey?! I wasn't expecting that LOL!

this was packed perfectly with sexual tension, banter, vulnerability, emotions, and all things cozy. this series overall has done such an amazing job at capturing the small town feel while also making the couples romance very present and engaging, but this book takes the cake. it exceeded every expectation i had. The black cat X golden retriever vibe was absolutely immaculate!! also, i have to mention there’s NO THIRD ACT BREAK UP!!

BK writes the most comfiest warmest worlds. I want to find myself in a place that exists like the worlds she creates. Charlie’s story was probably my favorite of them all. It took me a minute to get to it because I did not want it to end. I want more from all the characters and updates and phone tree shenanigans. Will love this series forever.

Ooh this one was my ABSOLUTE favorite of the series! Charlie and Nova were everything and more. I loved the golden retriever/black cat vibes they had going. And sweet Charlie, being the ultimate people pleaser and never wanting to impose. I loved seeing him gain confidence and the security in knowing that his family and friends loved him so much. And Nova, overcoming her worries about perfectionism and achieving her ultimate dreams. And her understanding and support for Charlie? I loved every second of this book!
