"Business Casual" OMG you gotta read it! It's the perfect summer rom-com - like Hallmark but with a bit more spice
The main characters, Nova and Charlie, are awesome. Nova is this cool, tattooed girl who's opening her own shop and Charlie is this sweet, golden retriever type who's always there for his friends. They have a one-night-stand-turns-into-more situation and it's both hilarious and swoony. Plus there's this whole small-town vibe with a fun cast of characters. If you're looking for a feel-good escape, this is it! I love everything that B.K. Borison writes and this book was no exception. I highly recommend!
Thank you to NetGalley and Berkeley Publishing for my advanced reader copy in exchange for my honest review. All opinions are my own.

When I requested Business Casual, I didn't realize that it is the fourth book in the Bookstagram beloved Lovelight Farms Series. Shortly after that, the second title, In the Weeds, went on sale, so I read that first to get a feel for the series. After these two, I'm definitely going to read books 1 & 3. The downside was that I actually didn't take to the Porter sisters when they were introduced in In the Weeds and once I made the connection between the book and the copy for Business Casual, I was skeptical because Nova, Nessa, and Harper just seemed... off. I didn't appreciate the way the sisters seemed to not care about Beckett's feelings, insist that he attend events that he doesn't want to, or don't make enough of an effort to accommodate him (Beckett doesn't do well in loud, boisterous situations, and while the family eventually offers him earmuffs to muffle the sound, they do nothing to not CREATE the sound issues that he's having when he sees the family), and were a little too involved in his love life. Nova as an individual seems to tattoo Beckett will-nilly without him really having a choice. I was concerned. That being said, the reality of Business Casual blew me away.
When Charlie surprises his sister with a month-long honeymoon, he also offers to stay in Inglewild, Maryland to run her Christmas Tree farm while she's gone. He and Nova decide to embark on a no-strings fling while he's in town to ease the tensions from her impending parlor opening. As we all know, that doesn't work out as they expect. This book is so much sweet pining, mostly from Charlie. He falls first and hard. He's had eyes for Nova all along and once he got a hold of her, he doesn't want to let go. Nova on the other hand keeps insisting that she's keeping it light, but she finds herself growing more and more attached despite her fear that a relationship means giving up her freedom.
Both Nova and Charlie seem to suffer from deep-seated imposter issues and handle it in wildly different ways. Nova pushes herself to be perfection as she prepares to open her own individual tattoo parlor. She has her heart shielded in bubble wrap to prevent herself from feeling too much for anyone outside of her family. She fears that her family's, particularly Beckett's, pride in her is undeserved and as a result, she overworks herself in an effort to prove to herself what everyone else already sees. Charlie pretends to be a light, joking, goofball because he doesn't think that the citizens of Inglewild really like him. As much as he wants to belong, he worries that they just put up with him, and as a result, he does his best to make sure everyone around him is happy and having a good time in hopes that they keep him around. In doing so, Charlie greatly diminishes the true joy he brings people, can't see how much they value him, and as Nova puts it, makes himself small.
I love. love, LOVED, the very Stars Hollow aspects of Inglewild such as town hall meetings, a town phone tree that's misappropriated for gossip and matchmaking, a close-knit vibe that lends itself to almost the whole town showing up for one member's wedding, and more. The Lovelight Farms books are indeed super cozy and emotional. I can;t wait to double back and read the others.

This was the perfect finale to the Lovelight series and my favorite as well. It had me grinning like an idiot and kicking my feet over how cute the interactions and banter is between Nova & Charlie. One of my top reads of the year.

Am I crying because this is the last book of the Lovelight series? Yes, yes, I am.
Imma miss these sweet folks so damn much.
If you want to read a book with golden retriever hero and grumpy tattoo artist heroine (the absolute perfect combination of opposites attract, amiright?) with a huge dose of "This is one night. We'll get it out of our systems and everything will go back to normal, yeah?" (but of course, that does not work, because does it ever? ... nah!), this book is it for you.
Bonus points to BK for absolutely giving us the most perfect ending to Lovelight. While the series is over, my love for these people will forever go on.

It's always hard to say goodbye to a place that you love, especially when it's a place like Lovelight Farms. I have loved this series from the very beginning and Business Casual is the most perfect ending to this series.
I absolutely adored Nova and Charlie's story. Nova is a badass, tattooed heroine who doesn't take shit from anyone (especially Charlie). Charlie is funny and doesn't take himself too seriously. He shows up big for the people he cares about.
💬 "I’m a people pleaser, through and through, and it doesn’t matter that the person I’m trying to please is an asshole. All my brain recognizes is the itchy, uncomfortable feeling of disappointment."
Usually I find pieces of myself in characters, but very rarely do I so deeply relate to both of the main characters, which made this book incredibly special to me. A perfectionist at heart, Nova just wants to prove her worth and make her brother proud. People pleaser Charlie does things for others so he doesn't take up too much space, yet he yearns for a place to belong.
While the pair start off on the wrong foot, they have a get it out of our systems arrangement that morphs into a keep it casual arrangement, which turns into anything but casual. Neither wants a relationship. I loved how naturally they fell in love with each other. And the tattoo? Perfection.
Business Casual gave me everything I love about this series, especially the phone tree and all its antics. This was the perfect ending to the series and I cannot wait to see what B.K. Borison writes next!

A big thank you to Berkley and Netgalley for the free arc in exchange of an honest review! I was absolutely giddy after receiving an approval of my first B.K. Borison book in this series after reading all the shouting about how fabulous this series is.
Business Casual is the first book I have read in the series and I’m excited I get to return to the small town of Inglewild for the first three books in the series. This book had previous characters but they were introduced so well I felt like I instantly knew them. Business Casual can be read as a standalone but why would anyone miss out on this entire fabulous series.
From the first page, B.K. Borison had me hooked! I was scream laughing out loud at the ridiculousness of the banter between Nova and Charlie. It was sheer perfection!
Nova is Beckett’s sister who is a bad ass tattoo artist and Charlie is an investment banker who is charming and oh so sweet. They each are battling their own insecurities and neither of them are looking for a relationship. But Nova is distracted by Charlie every time she is around him and offers up a proposition of one night together with no strings attached. Can friends with benefits have just one night?
Nova are Charlie are such relatable characters. I enjoyed watching their journey grow from friendship, overcoming their insecurities and falling in love. Their chemistry was off the charts!
Nova and Charlie absolutely pulled at my heartstrings. I have a feeling each and every book in this series will leave me wanting to read everything from this fabulous author.

This book was everything that I needed and more. I didn’t think that it could get better than Layla and Caleb from Mixed Signals, but boy was I wrong! Nova and Charlie are definitely the spiciest couple from Inglewild and possibly the most talked about on the phone tree! Charlie is that sweet boyfriend that you didn’t know you needed and Nova is the fierce businesswoman who knows what she wants. Thankfully what she wants turns into something more. I could not put this book down! Although I know it’s the last book from Lovelight farms, it wouldn’t hurt my feelings if Borison surprised us one day. My love for Lovelight is deep!

I'd read and enjoyed the other three books in the Lovelight Farms series, so was thrilled to receive an ARC for the fourth and final edition (for now). This might be my favourite of them! It was a much quieter book than the other three, which had much more complicated plots and more external dramatic conflict, and I preferred it this way because it allowed for a lot more internal exploration and personal growth for each lead individually and together. No third-act breakup either! Just a realistic, well-developed narrative between two people who are friends before anything else and have that as a steady foundation to build their romantic relationship on...once they'd admitted their feelings to each other, of course 😅 the rest of the town, which included previous couples, made for wonderful supporting characters, as always, and I loved being back in Ingelwild.

Oh-my-EFFING-gah!!!! This book!!!😍🫠
I’m going to be honest, I didn’t go into this book too excited because Charlie didn’t really seem all that interesting to me. He’s sweet and a great brother but didn’t see too much past that. I was completely wrong! Whether you’re a fan of this series or not, this book is a hit!! Beautiful ending to this amazing series!!

A wonderful finale to the Lovelight series, with a swoony romance, fab repartee, and charming story about MCs Nova Porter and Charlie Milford. Recommended!

I can't believe the Lovelight series is now complete, but what a journey it's been. I loved watching Nova's guard come down as she learns to let others into her life. She's such a strong character, pursuing her dreams of owning a tattoo studio, and I couldn't help but admire her tenacity.
Charlie has a heart of gold, always trying to please everyone, even at the sake of his own happiness. The best part of watching their story unfold was being able to revisit friends in the Lovelight world, both old and new. This series will always have a special place in my heart, and will be my go-to for a small town comfort read in the future!

This is a great book to wrap up the series. I love Charlie and Nova. However, I will say that I will miss these characters terribly.

This was such a cute, heart-warming read. B.K. Borison always delivers on the emotion and heartstrings. Lovely banter, swoony romance, and a wonderful cast of characters. What’s not to love?

I’m going to be honest I love B.K. Borison but Business Casual was probably my least anticipated out of the Lovelight series. But let me tell you Mrs. Borison proved me wrong. And now I honestly think Business Casual is my favorite out of this series.
Before I get into the nitty gritty let’s rewind a bit. So, Business Casual, follows Nova and Charlie. Nova is Beckett’s sister who's a grumpy badass tattoo shop owner. And then we have sweet sweet Charlie. Quite literally our golden retriever hero. Charlie has been flirting with Nova for a while, neither of them are interested in a relationship. And one night they decided to throw caution to the wind a form a friend’s with benefits arrangement, our as they like to call it, Business Casual Relationship. PS I see what you did there Mrs Borison;) very clever. And of course like any friends with benefits relationships our couple can’t just have one night!
From the very beginning B.K Borison hooked me. I was smitten with Charlie and Nova right from the get to go. Their witty banter had my cackling. And don’t get me started on their chemistry. Ma’am I had to take breaks, BREAKS. The spice and chemistry between those two were definitely off the charts. Overall, Nova & Charlie’s story was relatable and truly pulled at my heartstrings. Both Characters had their struggles and strengths. And it was incredible to watch them both go through this journey of healing together.
B.K Borison has a fan for life , I'm excited to see what they write next!
Thank you NetGalley and Berkley Publishing Group for this arc in exchange for an honest review!

charlie milford…the man that you are. 🧎♀️🧎♀️🧎♀️
Nova Porter and Charlie Milford are friends, kinda. Charlie's sister, Stella is best friends with Nova's older brother, Beckett and although Charlie is not from Lovelight, he has weaved his way into the towns atmosphere, which means, Nova sees Charlie, a lot. And likes what she sees. Charlie is no stranger to flirting with Nova Porter, and what better time to flirt than at a wedding? After a flirtatious night at a wedding, Nova offers Charlie a proposition, one night to get their attraction to one another under control. But what was supposed to hamper down their attraction, only makes it grow more intense. And this time? Charlie is in Lovelight for the long haul.
B.K. Borison wrote the perfect book to end the Lovelight saga. While adding updates to existing characters, she also successfully added layer upon layer to side characters Nova and Charlie while simultaneously making their romance one of a kind. Nova truly sees Charlie, and Charlie sees Nova, and they can both drop the weight of others' expectations when they're around one another.
Charlie is a piece of my heart, I love him and B.K. has made another swoonworthy Lovelight MMC. I loved how all of our favorite trio characters make an appearance in this book while not making it feel like an extended epilogue.

This was such a great ending to this lovelight farms series. I loved the parallels between Nova and Charlie. They are the perfect couple to end the series. We got some much info about them in the other books and I'm so happy they got their HEA. Its not often that we get a book about a tattooed FMC, and as a tattoo girlie myself it was so refreshing to read how much Charlie loved all of Nova's art. There was so much chemistry between these two characters that I swooned. B.K. Borison did an amazing job navigating the people pleaser in Charlie and all of Nova's insecurities. I loved that all the characters from previous books made appearances, the found family in this series was TOP TIER!!
Full official review on my socials will be posted one week before pub date.

I had to take some time to collect my thoughts and even still I don't know what to say other than I LOVE CHARLIE AND NOVA.
as the token Lovelight fan (I even have an In the Weeds tattoo), I knew I was going to love Business Casual. That being said, this MIGHT take the cake for my favorite in the series??? (if not an incredibly close second).
Charlie and Nova must be protected at all costs. these two are so so SO perfect for each other and continued to show up for each other time and time again. they communicated in their own language - so in tune with one another. GOD I love them.
not to mention, all the lovely appearances from our other Lovelight babies made me emotional. so emotional I actually cried (and I'm not a crier haha). it was truly just such a perfect ending to an even more perfect series.
read if you like:
- opposites attract
- black cat x golden retriever
- small town
- forced proximity
- friends with benefits
- sarcasm as a first language
thank you Berkley & BK Borison for the arc <3 I LOVE YOU GUYS.

This is a lovely finale to this Lovelight Farms series. It's been so fun to watch not only this series unfold but to watch Borison grow as an author and in her career. This is the story of Charlie and Nova. They are going to scratch an itch and "get it out of their system". But once turns into a month - just until he has to go home - and then turns into more. This romance grows but they do as well. And both are very satisfying.
Think Hallmark with steam and a little more depth and you've got a winner. This is fast and fun and definitely a romance you can't stop reading

Nova Porter has enough on her plate without needing to add a relationship to the mix. She has her hands full, ensuring everything is perfect for her new tattoo studio's grand opening, but that doesn't mean she can't make time to flirt with Charlie Milford. Despite not being a resident of their small town, Charlie spends as much time as he can in Inglewild, where he's an honorary citizen, and he loves nothing more than ruffling Nova's feathers. To get her mind back on track, Nova propositions Charlie. The pair agree to have one night together to get each other out of their systems, and then they'll go back to their respective responsibilities. Only one night isn't enough, and with Charlie in town for the month, they don't see the harm in continuing their little bed sport. But as the weeks pass and feelings deepen, can Charlie convince Nova that he's a risk worth taking?
Ugh, I'm so sad to see this series end. I love it so much. Each installment feels like being wrapped in a cozy blanket and given a warm drink to sip. Borison has such a knack for writing realistic relationships that never fail to make me swoon. Charlie and Nova were so fun. I adored the teasing banter and loved how they would rile each other up. Charlie is the human equivalent of a golden retriever, and Nova has this tough exterior with a squishy inside. They complemented one another perfectly. One of my favorite things about this series has always been the setting. The small-town vibe is perfect. I always finish these books wishing I could live in Inglewild. The secondary characters also shine, and I love the little-found family all the characters have created. If you're looking for a fun and flirty rom-com for the summer, I recommend checking it out.
