First and foremost it needs to be stated somewhere that this a hockey romance. This does not dissuade me one bit, but being as the cover appears to be a drunk Barbie there was no indication of this fact.
Astrid is the only child of a hockey coach and former fiancé to a goalie. Left at the alter for a new team, she has had enough of hockey and its players to last her a lifetime. Who can blame her honestly, being in a relationship with someone so emotionally underdeveloped that he didn’t realize bailing on their wedding meant the relationship was over would cause anyone some trauma. After finally rebuilding her life in a now town, she is finally feeling more like herself than an accessory to hockey.
That is until she meets Cal. The instant attraction is undeniable and it seems like the perfect one night stand until they meet again at dinner. At Astrid’s dad’s apartment. Who just happens to be Cal’s new boss. You guessed it, Cal is hockey guy. Not only a hockey guy, but a former goalie here to coach Astrid’s former fiance, Tig.
They try their best to keep their distance and their hands to themselves, but can they stop before disaster strikes? The answer is no. No they cannot. But can what was supposed to be a casual no strings hook up, walk of shame included, end up as something more?
Thank you Entangled Publishing for the arc in exchange for a fair review.

This book as a blast! I really enjoyed this hockey romance, I felt it was a perfect balance of hockey and romance, especially as someone who doesn’t really understand the sport terribly well. Our main characters were steamy and funny, everything you could possibly want! I found myself laughing out load several times while reading this, which made it all the more enjoyable. I cannot recommend this book enough for someone looking for a funny, sexy, playful read that will have them cracking up every other page..
There was still emotional depth in the book, and I loved that our FMCs dad was such. Supportive character.

I started reading Walk of Shame on 15th February and can't seem to get past the 35% mark. I loved the first one and had such high hopes for this one but sadly it didn't live up to it. I really struggled to get into it and to read this point was a huge feat, even though there were fun and enjoyable parts. I put it down and started and finished 17 books and can't the enthusiasm or desire to pick it back up again so I'm going to throw in the towel. As much as it pains me to say it, this book just wasn't for me and I'm not going to force myself to read any further.

Such a wonderful and steamy romance. I’m a sucker for hockey romance, even though this one is mostly on the sidelines of hockey, it still did it for me.
Astrid is absolutely hilarious, loved watching the romance develop with Cal.
Unfortunately, the epilogue was a bit disappointing. I’ll get over it.

I enjoy a good hockey romance and this one started off really well and made me laugh out loud quite a few times. Astrid and Cal were likeable characters but felt the story didn’t really go anywhere halfway through and i had to push through to finish the book.

This is the second book in this incredible series, and this is Cal and Astrid’s story.
Astrid has sworn off relationships and hockey, after she was dumped at the altar 5-years previously, by her childhood sweetheart, and professional hockey goalie, which has her dad at the coach. From the moment that Cal and Astrid meet, there is an intense connection, only to find out they he is her neighbor, and he is going to be the goalie coach for her ex in her dad’s team.
This is a well written story which is fast paced, ad easy to read, with humor, witty banter, emotions, close proximity, family, friendships, and love, which leads to an entertaining, fun, and steamy addictive page turner.
I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.

This was fun, hot, funny and heartbreaking at times. The heat starts pretty early and continues throughout the story. The spice is very hot, descriptive and different every time. I really enjoyed the banter between Astrid and cal, they had instant chemistry. The side characters were fun too and some actually surprise you, especially in the epilogue! I really loved the pig thing with cal’s family, that was really awesome and fun. Another fun scene was when they played bingo which led up to a spicy scene, so that was a bonus. Astrid was very stubborn and I just wanted to shake her but she realized when it was time to get with it. Cal was pretty stubborn himself but he came through in the end too.

Walk of Shame- Downside of dating book #2

We revisit the 3 besties Astrid, Thea and Nola!
Astrid after being left at the alter on her wedding day by Tig her childhood on again off again sweetheart. Tig is the goalie for the team Astrid's father coaches and on the day of there wedding he face times to say he is leaving to play for the Ice Knights. Astrid is done with all things hockey!
Flash forward 5 years and Astrid's dad now coaches the Ice Knights but she she still has nothing to do with hockey. She helps Nola family by bartending on the first floor of her apartment building.
Cal knows this is his last chance to keep hockey in his life after a close to life threatening injury he knows playing is no longer an option. Asked to come back for 1 year as a goalie coach to a failing Tig he takes the opportunity.
Astrid and Cal have what is planned to be a one night stand after Cal comes into the bar on the first floor of his new apartment building 😮. But after Astrid dad announces his retirement after this year and asks Astrid to come back and consult....she reluctantly accepts.
Cal and Astrid, now working and living in the same building seems both impossible and exciting. Cal takes care of Astrid when through her whole life she has been the care giver. The chemistry and connection between these too is intoxicatingly funny and steamy.
I really enjoyed the opportunity to read this before release date and to see some familiar character return from the Ice Knights.
No spoilers but that epilogue? I need to know how others feel about that. 😮🤔
ARC provided by NetGalley and Valentine PR in exchange for my honest review.

This book is so cute! It is a little slow at first, but it helps the character development in a way where you instantly fall in love with them! The plot is great! Super fun read. I love how witty and fun these two characters show with the plot. Must read book!!!!!!!

This was soooo cute! Please tell me that there are more books coming!!! I need to see how the couple in the prologue got together! I need more........period.

I received an ARC copy of this book through Netgally in exchange for an honest voluntary review.
This was my first read from this author. I enjoyed this story from start to finish. Everytime I pick up a book about hockey players I know I'm in it for trip and this one was no different. Astrid was an amazing character and I loved reading about her.

Book two in this series but a total standalone. Bride left at the altar trope with a funny romantic comedy story. I truly enjoyed reading this as I love Avery Flynn’s writing style. She can make me giggle out loud. Cal and Astrid are the main characters. Cal has lost his hockey career due to injury and he is not a happy camper. Astrid has been left at the altar by her hockey goalie fiancé, her father is the hockey coach and she has always been his assistant, however once she was left at the altar she wanted nothing to do with hockey. Cal and Astrid meet and have a moment. Thoroughly enjoyed this story and as always can’t wait for the next book.

The premise on this was fun, but the chemistry didn't hit for me. The protagonists kept trying to prove they could just be friends and by the end I kind of wished they would....just stay friends.

Astrid thought her HEA had arrived. Then her fiancée dumped her by Facetime...on their wedding day...for a Hockey move. Her life until that point had been nothing but Hockey but now she won't watch it, talk about it or even have it mentioned anytime she's at her part-time bar job. Which is touch on her father who is manager of the local hockey team!
Cal is new to town and a new resident in the same building where Astrid lives, unbeknownst to them both. But after he steps in to provide support at the bar against a sleazy patron, he and Astrid have a fun, flirty and passion filled ONS. Then they learn that not only are the neighbours but also colleagues after Astrid's dad guilts her into one more season assisting him with the team before he retires!
Astrid and her posse of friends are #girlsquad goals. They'll support each other through anything and help bury any bodies. Cal is perfect as the gruff, touch goalie coach who didn't want forever but fell hard and fast for the "refuses to have more than one night" Astrid. His dirty talking ways are on point and that man enjoys a "meal". The relationship is playful and flirty even when they think they are hiding it so well - see the Diet Coke shenanigans.
I loved seeing the FMC be the one with the bed hopping ways and the MMC be the who falls first. I would love to see a series with Cal's sisters 'cos they are an absolute hoot. It was great seeing little snippets of some of my faves from other book popping up throughout the book.
The epilogue though - talk about never saw that relationship coming!

Astrid is a professional hockey coach’s daughter who was left at the alter by her long time love, who also happens to be a hockey goalie. After her disaster almost wedding, Astrid has sworn off all things hockey, especially hockey players. That is until Cal shows up at Flying Sow Pub and sparks fly. Little do they know that first night, Cal is her dad’s new goalie coach and Astrid is heading back to the world of hockey to help her dad.
This was a super cute, kind of insta-lovey, hockey rom-com. I really enjoyed Astrid and Cal’s story. Their story kept me entertained and their banter kept me laughing. Cal’s love language is definitely gift giving, shown by all the little gifts he left for Astrid while she was actively trying to avoid acknowledging her feelings for him. I do think the ending felt kind of rushed and a little unfinished, but overall I really enjoyed this book.
This book is the second in The Downsides of Dating series, but can definitely be read as a standalone. I say that as someone that hasn’t read book one. If you’re looking for a cute and spicy hockey rom-com then you’ll enjoy Walk of Shame.

What happens when you do the Walk of Shame, not once, but multiple times and as much as you try to regret it you can't? You get Walk of Shame by auto buy author Avery Flynn.
This book was a sinfully fun read that had me laughing out loud, feeling all kinds of hot and missing Avery Flynn's stories because no one and I mean no one writes stories like this.
If you pick up this story, be warned that you won't be putting it down till you are done. I'm not going to say more, because you really need to read the book without spoilers.
Run, don't walk to grab this book. You won't be sorry.

I loved this book. It’s easy to read and has amazing characters. Great world building and fantastic plot. Very beautifully written.
Astrid O’Malley is a very vibrant young woman. She detestes all things hockey. And for a good reason. Her childhood sweetheart left her at the altar. He was a professional hockey goalie.
Now, five years later, she lives and does whatever she wants. Enter a hot stranger that quickly becomes one-night stand. Soon, she finds out that is he no other, than her ex’s goalie trainer. Add the fact that her father is her ex’s coach and asked for help with his last year coaching.
She can’t escape him now. He is at her new work and he even lives in her building. I loved the intensity of the chemistry and passion between them. They literally were made for each other.
Overall I loved this book very much. If you’re a fan of neighbours-to-lovers, hot romantic comedy then you’re in for a treat.

When Astrid gets dumped at the altar by her goalie fiancé, she cuts everything hockey out of her life for good and goes on a journey of self-discovery. Five years later, she meets a man who she might be willing to give it all up for and he just happens to be the new hockey coach on her dad's team.
I wanted to like this book, but honestly, it just felt very dry. There wasn't a whole lot that interested me about Astrid or Cal the whole book. There is supposed to be a lot of inescapable chemistry between the two and it just felt very flat. Also, her ex fiancé was about as clueless idiot as they come and even after everything he did, I still didn't feel any type of way.
It's not a poorly written book by any stretch. However, the lackluster characters don't make up for the lack of plot in this book. Not my favorite.

Walk of Shame is a very cute romance. The premise being a jilted bride who no longer believes in line only had one night stands, and hates hockey . Until a comedy of errors being a one night stand and hockey to the front of Astrid's life. Astrid's dad asks her to support him during his last year coaching. Cal is the guy she never saw coming, this unconventional romance was a treat to read t
