Thank you to Entangled Publishing for this ARC!
I really enjoyed this story and thought it was a great sequel to Anger Bang. I like that these books are in the same world, but you can read them as standalones.
Astrid and Cal are super cute together and I am into their relationship. Cal is the perfect man for Astrid and they bring out the best in each other. I loved that they kept saying the last time was going to be the "last time" but still going back to each other. Their chemistry is off the charts, their banter is everything, and the spice is spicy!
For me, I wasn't into the epilogue and thought that it didn't go with the story that we got and that is why it is not a 5 star book. But that does not take away from the amazing writing of Avery Flynn and I still really enjoyed this book!

5 ⭐️ 3🌶️

I don’t recall ever reading a hockey🏒 romance but add them to my list of favorites after this read, this was a five ⭐️ read for me.
From chapter one I could feel every emotion the characters were feeling.
The FMC, Astrid, is a fierce and I-do-me-kinda attitude girl after being left at the altar and swearing out hockey. Enters Cal, MMC, into the scene and changes everything.
The main character had instant sexual chemistry that was super spicy, the can’t keep my hands off each other kinda spice 🌶️. Cal is super sweet I love it and when they both realized their true happiness lay with each other i just melted💓.
Both MCs had to process a lot of their own hangups in order to realize what truly mattered, and how they both came to that realization on their own was very emotional to read. And Astrid and Cal HEA was chef kiss😘.
Flynn did leave me intrigued of how the other two characters ended up at the altar. Do I see a book in the future? 🤔🤭

It was just fine. I'm not sure I love the writing style, but the book was enjoyable, the spice was spicing, and it was a hockey romance so I was happy.

I will be honest, I picked this book its cover. I thought from the title and cover it would be hilarious. The first half was a struggle for me. I’m really not a fan of third person pov, so it was very hard to follow in my opinion and I think that’s why I struggled. Once I got use to the dialogue, it ended up being an enjoyable hockey romcom.

Thank you to Valentine PR and the author Avery Flynn for this advanced copy and letting me review it. Walk Of Shame is the first novel I have read by the author Avery Flynn and it did not dissapoint. This was a 4 star hockey romance read. Astrid has some emotional walls up after she is dumped by her hockey goalie fiancé through FaceTime. For the next couple of years she decides to travel going on different adventures. She is currently bartending where Astrid meets Cal who she has an unexpected connection with. Cal & Astrid find out they live in the same building along with both working for her hockey coach father.
Their romance scenes are everything along with having great banter and chemistry.
Tropes:
Hockey Romance
One Night Stand
Forced Proximity

I am a sucker for a good hockey romance and this book delivered exactly what I wanted it to.
After being dumped via Facetime right before walking down the aisle by her goalie fiancé, Astrid shuts down emotionally and spends the next five years travelling the world and avoiding anything having to do with hockey. While working at a bar she meets Cal and sparks fly with whom she assumes will be her next one night stand. As it turns out she not only lives in the same building as him but will be working along side him to improve her dad the hockey coach's goalie's career. The goalie you may ask is non other than her ex fiancé.
This book has both POV's of Cal and Avery and I think that really adds to the story line. The banter and chemistry between the two main characters was strong and made their relationship likable. Neither wants to cross the line again but they cannot seem to stay apart as their passion flows. There are also sweet moments between the two with allows for a more in depth relationship growth. This book is extremely spicy and easy to read and enjoy. It is fast paced but doesn't not feel like the story is moving so quickly that it is not believable.

This was everything I wanted in a hockey romance! Avery Flynn is a new to me author and I really enjoyed this book.
I love the banter and the steamy scenes between Astrid and Cal. The author did a great job with the evolution of the characters and their back stories. Helping them realize that stepping out of their comfort zones is crucial for their happiness. The mostly lighthearted tone and the fun banter between the characters kept me from putting this book down.
You will want to read it if you love:
-Hockey Romance
-One-Night Stands
-Forced Proximity
-Secret Relationships
-Steamy Scenes
-Playful Banter
This book was a fast and enjoyable read. I found myself rooting for them and smiling while reading.

I had forgotten how much I enjoy Avery Flynn's hockey romances and her Ice Knights universe. "Walk of Shame" was a lovely reminder. Astrid, bestie of Thea, star of the first book in this series, "Anger Bang," is the FMC here. Having been dumped by a star goalie 5 years earlier, Astrid has been on a spree of one-night stands on several continents, spurring commitment and hating all things hockey - hard to do when your dad is a professional coach and you were raised in rinks. MMC Cal is a goalie whose dream was sliced away from him and who is now trying to stay connected to hockey any way he can. Here, that means he is brought in to bring Astrid's former fiance back up to snuff. And Astrid's dad convinces Astrid to help - with her not knowing she would be working with Cal, her hot kitchen-bang ONS from the night before.
Astrid and Cal's story is a funny and steamy easy read. Astrid is doing her damnedest to not be emotionally vulnerable ever again, yet with Cal she starts breaking all of her rules almost immediately, Cal for his part knows he wants Astrid as more than a hook-up fairly early on, and pursues her in super cute ways (I want a man to bring me Diet Coke and PB cups!). And while I don't love third-act partings due to misunderstandings, this one is relatively short and it at least makes some version of sense as to why the misunderstanding would happen in the first place.
I loved Astrid's relationships with her friends, and I would have enjoyed more scenes with her therapist. Cal's sisters are great, and it felt a bit like there might be another series happening there. The steam, as always in a Flynn book, is hot and plentiful. What kept this from being a 5-star read was the weird AF epilogue (though I will still read Nola's book, don't get me wrong) and that I felt like so much was focused on Astrid's growth as a person. We didn't get as much insight into Cal, though he arguably needed less development to have a healthy relationship.
4 stars. Thank you to NetGalley and Entangled for a complimentary ARC of this book. These opinions are my own.

Hockey romance. I’m so surprised I keep reading more hockey romances and I haven’t gotten bored yet! This one was good. Not a whole lot of hockey activity actually, compared to some other. Fmc thinks shes given up love and follows her rules to keep her safe from failed love again. Mmc comes in and makes her break all her rules. He sees her for who and what she is and shows her that he’s paying attention! Cute story, I enjoyed it. Several typos but hopefully that’s fixed by the time it’s released. Wasn’t too hard to read thru them but annoying when there’s multiple.

3.25 stars ✨
This was a fun, fast paced, steamy and easy read. Astrid was a complicated character and the story mostly focused more on her individual character growth. The writing style was good and engaging and the side characters were well sketched but I felt like I barely knew Cal. He was just portrayed as Astrid's love interest and I felt like I knew nothing about him other than this and his job. So while there was definitely some sexual tension and chemistry between Astrid & Cal, I still couldn't connect with him. Overall, this was an enjoyable read and the epilogue was great too but I did not like it as much as I thought I would've based on reading the blurb tbh. Still, I'm looking forward to read whatever the author decides to write in the best future.
Thank you Netgalley and Valentine PR for providing me this ARC in exchange of an honest review

This story started off really strong and interesting. Astrid made it her mission not to fall in love again after being jilted on her wedding day. Then handsome Cal walks into the bar. After, a brief sexual relationship they fell in love. That was pretty much the story. The couple was sadly a bit boring for me. Though the sexy scenes were great. Oh and the epilogue was hmm, nope. Very strange. Overall, it was an okay love story. If you are a fan of the authors you will enjoy it. A huge thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for my ARC.

I love the humor Avery Flynn pours into her books. Walk of Shame had me cackling out loud several times, and just plain grinning through a huge portion of the book.
I enjoyed the banter and tension-filled build of their relationship and how they couldn’t keep their hands off each other. Astrid’s habit of hiding, running and avoiding was funny for awhile, but got pretty tiresome. Most of the relationship development happens via text messages or with their clothes off.
While I truly enjoyed the storyline and characters, this book had me confused with either story continuity issues or just gaping holes that I would have loved to better understand. I’m not a fan of the ending or the epilogue.
I loved seeing Zach Blackburn, Fallon and the Hartigan’s!
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

This book had me smiling. All the banter and tension between Astrid and Cal was *chefs kiss*. All the side characters are great. I enjoyed this one more than the first just because of that. We get to see a lot more positive relationships for the two MCs than we did in the first. I wish we got a little bit more scenes with some of them, especially Cal’s family and Astrid’s dad.
I loved Astrid. She was headstrong and independent. Cal was the best. I love a book boyfriend who pays attention and is nothing but supportive.
Not going to lie, the epilogue kind of threw me lol but I loved that Astrid was able to have closure with Tig and that they were able to have a good platonic relationship after everything.
Thank you so much for the ARC! I loved it :)

Loved the pacing of this book! A good amount of spice, humor, and some very touching moments. I was glad that the FMC was able to get the closure she needed from her past relationship. I feel like that allowed her to form a much stronger relationship with her partner in the end. I’d definitely recommend people check out this story!
Thanks to Entangled and Net Galley for providing me an e-arc copy of this book!

Things I Liked:
-I loved the friendship between Astrid, Thea, & Nola in this novel (although I am curious how the whole Nola marrying Tigs thing came about in the epilogue...that feels like a major friend code violation).
-The spicy scenes were well done!
-I loved the grump neighbor that ended up being related to one of Astrid's friends & the guidance that she offered Astrid.
Things That Didn't Sit Quite Right With Me:
-I just am not a fan of instalove.
-I really disliked Astrid's dad for even asking her to come back to coach beside him...knowing that it would hurt her...
-The book dragged for me (I felt that it could have been shorter)...but the ending felt very quick & like it was all done just to wrap everything up in a nice bow (it didn't feel very realistic to me).
-The epilogue feels a bit cringy with Tigs marrying Nola. I am interested to see how that played out if they are the focus of the next book.
Overall, I gave it 3 stars.

Walk of Shame (Downside of Dating, book 2) is quick, fun, light, and steamy instant-attraction hockey-ish romcom featuring plenty of Harbor City characters. Don't worry you don't have to have read the other romcoms set in Harbor City (I haven't yet) or even Anger Bang (Downside of Dating, book 1, featuring Astrid's BFF Thea) to enjoy Astrid and Cal's story. I loved Astrid's hockey "uncles", her BFFs Thea and Nola, Cal's sisters, and his semi-reluctant friendship with Zach Blackburn. Those characters brought a lot of fun to the story. I wish Astrid and Cal's characters were able to have more depth─as individuals and as a couple─everything felt very surface level. For instance, Astrid had a whole separate job that was mentioned but she never actually went to... I love all the sweet things Cal did for Astrid, but I wish everything wasn't so rushed! And I have absolutely NO IDEA what that epilogue was?! Is Nola's story going to be book 3? If so, spoiler alert! It felt VERY weird.
3.5 stars

This was a hilarious romance story that follows a girl who gets left at the alter by her longtime boyfriend who also happens to be a famous hockey goalie. She takes the next three years "touring the world" of men and never seeing the same one twice because she'll never fall for love again. EVER.
So she takes a super hot guy from the bar she works at to bed. Ends up he not only lives in her same apartment building, but he's also the goalie coach for her fathers hockey team...coaching the man who left her at the alter!
All kinds of "last time" shenanigans happen, hearts are swooned, hearts are broken, then hearts are melted back together into a huge gooey mess of love.
Best part!? Epilogue wedding wasn't even the main character's wedding! Happy dance for me.

Synopsis
Tig broke Astrid's heart when he broke up with her on their wedding day via FaceTime. Tig left town to play hockey for another city and in the five years since her wedding day, Astrid promised herself that she would never date another hockey player. Astrid unknowingly broke that promise when she had a one night stand with bartender, lumberjack hottie, Cal. Turns out they live in the same complex, but Cal was also hired as the "goalie whisperer" by Astrid's father to assist with Astrid's ex.
- Secret dating
- One night stand
- Hockey romance
- Dual POV
My Opinion
This book reminds me of an early 2000s romcom with Kate Hudson. It's witty, sexy and a feel-good love story. I laughed a lot, the spice scenes were perfection and Cal is a hottie!
Rating
4 stars; I liked it and will recommend to others
3.5 spicy pepper emojis; At least two open door scenes. Explicit language with a variety of sexual acts.
Thank you
Thank you to Valentine PR and NetGalley for the ARC in exchange for my honest review.

I received this as an Arc and I’m so glad I did. This was such a fun read. If you have read Anger bang you are semi familiar with Astrid. I truly love her character she has a strong and independent mind with a Healthy dose of stubbornness. Cal is the ultimate book boyfriend. He knows pretty quickly he wants Astrid and he takes his time to Wooo her!! I loved the banter and the spice in this book (it’s my favorite combo). The only thing that would have made this book better is if Cals sister had bigger roles, they are hysterical.

This is such a cute book! I absolutely flew through it because I just didn't want to put it down. Strong, sassy leading female? Check! Sexy, supportive main guy? Check! Great spice? Yes! I can't wait to read more titles by Avery Flynn.
