The blurb for A Walk of Shame is really catchy, and you'll find the first part to be fun, entertaining, and steamy, but as it goes on, it may lose its edge.

That title should definitely draw you in…and then the book itself will keep you flipping pages all night! An amazing story and characters!

Walk of Shame is a fast-paced, sweet and steamy hockey romance. Cal and Astrid were amazing and their banter was perfection. This story is an addicting, light hearted rom com that definitely brings the steam! I didn't love the ending, though. I guess I was expecting a little bit more. The rest of the story was entertaining and kept me turning the pages!!

This title took me so much longer than anticipated. The amount of typos that were missed was so frustrating. I saw so much potential with the story but the connection between the two MCs felt rushed and sudden.
I am still unclear where the epilogue came from and how the final couple ever worked out.
Over all I enjoyed the story, but I am thankful for a review copy because after anger bang (which i adored) this just felt flat.

A night out becomes stressful when the guy you’re drawn to ends up being not only a former hockey player, which you’ve sworn off since your selfish ex, but also is a coworker that has your dad as a boss. Yikes! Talk about complicated. But the heart wants what the heart wants.

This fed my sports-romance-loving heart, I devoured this one so quick! The Diet Coke joke that ran through the story was equal parts funny and sweet and all-around memorable. The author really knew how to create relatable characters while also weaving together a sizzling romance even surrounded by all that ice in the rink 😉

After reading this one, I’d definitely be interested in checking out more from this author. So many thanks to the author and team overall at Entangled Pub for giving me the chance to read an early copy!!

Okay, the start of this book was giving Lifetime movie if it was a book. I was worried, but it did not disappoint. I loved the immediate time jump into the future, because it made me realize that time has passed and this character had to have been changed by the time. I thought the plot and interpersonal conflicts were well done. I was really surprised by the secondary character, the elderly lady, because she added a lot more depth to the story and the main female character. I also really enjoyed her showing a bit of her past, I would probably read a whole book about her adventures. I also really did like the third act breakup because I think both characters needed time to figure out each other's feelings. I did not like the ending as much, I thought it was a bit anti-climatic but not in a "and everybody lived happily ever after" kind of way. I guess I either wanted more of a mutual love confession or something different. I also understand the past trauma of being married, but there was no discussion from both parties if they were okay with that. I just felt like a lot was swept under the rug. Good book overall.

It took a while to get use to the writing style but once I did I really enjoyed this book. The story line was funny and entertaining and I just loved Astrid and Cal’s story. The ending was a bit of a surprise and I’m intrigued with the next book how it came about.

Walk of Shame by Avery Flynn is a scorching forbidden romance between a former hockey player with a tragic career ending turned goalie coach meets the daughter of the hockey team’s coach! Add in a prior meet with steamy connection, forced proximity & her ex fiancé all in close distance & this romance is sure to keep you entertained.

Walk of Shame is great for fans of…
🥅 Hockey Romance
🥅 Forbidden Romance
🥅 Forced Proximity
🥅 Goalie Coach x Coach’s Daughter

For my fellow One Tree Hill fans, you remember the iconic Lucas Scott professes his feelings speeches?! We get one of those in this book!! I love when the hero lists out all the little quirks & things he likes about the heroine & this has it! *Insert happy dance here.*

The spice be spicing. The chemistry is evident & electric right away. I appreciated how he was into it immediately & I loved all of his small gestures towards her. This is quite the interesting romance read.

If you are looking for an enticing sports romance, I recommend checking out Walk of Shame!

Massive thanks to NetGalley & Entangled Publishing for the gifted copy, which I voluntarily read & reviewed.

Fun rom com about a girl getting ready for her wedding when she receives a call from her fiancee that he isn’t coming. Hockey player male main characters (which is all the rage in romance currently-hockey and/or dragons) paired with some really compelling lines such as “Too far is never far enough with you” had me swooning (just a little) even though hockey romances aren't usually one of my preferred subtropes. If you like romance and hate hockey, you'll still like this, and if you like hockey romance, run don't walk.

This book was hilarious with all the trying to one up each other. And Cal just seemed like the best guy and he really understands Astride and that is all she really needed and wanted. Someone to keep.her on her toes and let her be her and yet still be there and take care of her. That ending was wild though, how everyone just came together and it showed sometimes you really can put the past behind you. Not sure I would have been alright with a few things. But I suppose Astride really was over Tig and okay with how it all worked out for them.in the end. Especially with the pub in all.

🏒I guess you could say I’m in my hockey romance era because that’s what I’ve been reading a lot of lately in between my usual thrillers/horrors.

🏒Walk of Shame is really good so far, I started it earlier this week and hope to finish it tonight. I’m engaged and find myself wanting to read more. I would have finished already but I had to get caught up with a few arcs. IYKYK

Five years ago, Astrid O’Malley experienced the ultimate in public humiliation. Being dumped at the altar by her childhood sweetheart was horrifying enough. That fact that he was a professional hockey goalie and her dad was his coach? It was all anyone in sports could talk about.

Eff hockey. Eff goalies.

These days, Astrid lives a life (mostly) free of hockey and free to pursue whoever she wants with exactly zero shame in her game. Like tonight’s hook-up. This guy’s nailed the lumberjack aesthetic perfectly. Especially when he has the stamina and creativity to back it up.

Because the rule is: it’s one night only. Which is gonna be a problem because she’s just discovered he lives in the apartment upstairs.

And he’s joined her dad’s team. As the goalie coach. To train her ex.

Now Astrid is in some kind of hockey hell–filled with her ex, her family, and the best sex of her life. And somehow she’s been roped back onto the team.

Puck my life.

Walk of Shame is the second book in The Downside of Dating series.

Walk of Shame is a fun romantic comedy. I fell in love with both Astrid and Cal. They are fantastic characters individually but put them together and they are extraordinary. The chemistry and steam is off the charts. The snark, competitiveness, and genuine affection between the two mains was enjoyable to read. I loved watching Astrid and Cal's love story unfold.

Walk of Shame is a cute romance between two unsuspecting characters. One was burned by a hockey player and hardened her heart. The other was consumed by hockey. They thought their lives were great until he walked into her bar, then they realized was great really meant.

The book is perfectly paced, well-written, and the setting and world-building expertly crafted. I devoured Walk of Shame because once I started reading the book, I was hooked and couldn't put it down.

Avery Flynn is a one-click author for me. Every book is phenomenal. The themes, settings, and multitude of characters are unique, likable, and imperfectly perfect.

I did not expect to love this as much as I did! Astrid is relatable, funny, and I loved seeing her navigate her feelings with her dad, hockey and of course Cal. This was steamy, I loved how comical it was and all the inner monologue and dialog. Super cute, insta love and the banter was top tier. Perfect sports romcom.

I hadn’t read any of the other books in this series so I wasn’t familiar with the characters, but I was able to follow along just fine. This was a cute hockey romance with a happily ever after. It was an enjoyable, albeit predictable, read.

I loved the story, the world building and meeting the different characters. I felt completely immersed in the story and couldn't stop reading it.

Walk of Shame by Avery Flynn is a quirky romcom but fell flat on some points. I thought the humor was trying too hard most of the time and I didn't feel the chemistry between the two main characters like I should. There were some great side characters but overall it didn't rise to my expectations.

I really enjoyed this one. I liked the characters and the way the two MC’s were forced together was super fun and unique. The FMC’s dad was such a cool character and I enjoyed the way they all worked together.
The way these two fell for each other was an absolute good time and I highly recommend this book!

Love, love, loved it. The humor, the banter and a pinch of drama really makes for an immersive read. There were some drawn out parts that felt a bit off but other than that, I would definitely recommend to any fellow romcom/chicklit friends.

Well I just came to the conclusion that Avery Flynn books just aren’t for me.

This is the second book in a row that I just couldn’t finish . I’m dissatisfied because a few friends of mine really like her books.

I can’t recommend because I couldn’t even finish this one

Honestly I was so excited about this hockey romance and it started off with a bang, but then it fell off for me. It is a personal issue of writing style though, because it is written in 3rd person. For spicy scenes and romance it feels disconnected for me when it is written from that aspect. The storyline is cute and I loved the chemistry! It is definitely worth a read!
