I picked this up because I really like the PFF NFL podcast, and I wanted to get more background. It delivered on exactly what the title promises - a brief overview of sports analytics, kind of what I would expect in an intro college course about it.

I really enjoyed the first edition, so when I saw the second edition I knew I had to grab one. As a person that works in the sports analytics field, this book helped guide a lot of what I do. I liked the additions, and will definitely still recommend this book.
