A blend of poetry & tarot.

A personal perspective, via Tarot Tuesdays, helps those new to tarot to understand the meaning of the cards a uniquely creative way.

This is a really great book for people who are curious about the Tarot, or just starting the journey. Also for people who like to write.

It was relatable to me, since I am interested in Tarot just for self-discovery purposes, and I'm not interested in reading for other people. Reading about her experience reassured me in my choice. I also loved the idea of Tarot Tuesdays, and combining the card readings with creative writing.

I got a lot of inspiration from this book. Thank you to the author and NetGalley for allowing me to find this gem.

This is a quick reference guide to understanding tarot. The author goes through each card, almost like a devotion a day, and not only describes what she sees in the card, but how each related to her life at particular moments. While I enjoyed the stories, this was not a very practical book if you are just getting started. The cards appear in a somewhat random order and she leaves a lot for the reader to interpret on their own.

"Conversations with the Tarot" by Maria DeBlassie is a captivating journey into the enigmatic world of tarot, providing an awsome experience for beginners.
Despite my limited knowledge of tarot, I found this book to be an invaluable resource that deepened my understanding of each card and its significance. The inclusion of short poems to accompany each card adds a layer of depth and beauty to the book.

DNF at 25%. It was too slow for me, at time repetitive, and I also expected it to be more poetry focused and story focused. Instead, is more reflective, very literal at some points, about the meanings of the cards, without much additional material. I liked the author's fiction and wanted to read her non-fiction as well, but this wasn't for me.

Conversations with the Tarot by Maria DeBlassie is a delightful poetic tarot resource that will surely find its way into the personal collections of many modern witches.
Sadly my E-Arc edition did have many glaring typos but I can not wait to see how the finished version turned out because with those repaired this work will easily become a five star piece.

DNF at 45%. This book wasn't quite what I had hoped it would be. I was looking for a journal reflection of each card of the tarot, but realized early on that this book didn't cover each card in the traditional upright position and made it hard to layer this with my card drawings to gain a deeper understanding. The kindle book had wild formatting that made this book almost unreadable at times, and I switched to my NetGalley shelf and read there instead because it was free of those formatting issues. I didn't love the set up of the poem coming before the card reflection and often found myself flipping forward to read a reflection, then back to read a poem, and it was an annoying process and I found myself not wanting to pick up the book.

I couldn't finish this book. There were so many typos and misspellings, paragraphs stopped in the middle of the page and did not continue on the next. I can't give an opinion of the book itself, because the format is completely unreadable.

In my entire reading life, I have never come across a book filed with more typos than actual correct words.
Sadly, the book does not even spell the word 'universe' correctly, leave alone any of the other words. The book was difficult to understand due to the pages filled with typos, and I gave up at 28%.
I am not sure if this is a keyboard issue, or a technical issue - but before putting out the book, it should have been checked. others too have mentioned this in the reviews, yet it has not been fixed.

The little I could read and make out - was not impressive either. This is a very basic book on the tarot, and the conversations themselves, whatever I could piece together (thanks to my knowledge of spellings) were too few a lines to call itself a conversation. Also it didnt help that there was no logical flow or interconnectedness between the chapters/flow of the cards.
DNF the book, which I rarely do, but sadly, this was just unreadable.

I'm thankful to have previous background with tarot and I feel that helped understand the book more. I definitely thought that this was more poetry focused but seemed more of a personal dive into the means of each card and how it reflected with the author at the time.

I was approved for the book and in the same week it was archived so I was not able to download it. I did however grab a copy and I really love it! The author teaches us not to adhere to strict rigid meanings of the cards via interpretations, but how to personally connect with each card more deeply...thus providing us with deeper meanings through our readings. This is an invaluable resource to anyone who is interested in reading tarot or someone who is beginning.
This book re-inspired me to go back to my daily card pulls. Thank you so much for the chance to read it.

This book was an excellent addition to others I have collected regarding life's insights, mysticism, and magic. It was well done. Maria DeBlassie did an excellent job of sharing her descriptions and insights as well as the lovely poems focused on each card. Tarot is read with a certain person's depth and experience and is a constant source of learning and sharing with others. It is a door into the energy that the earth gives us and Maria DeBlassie has shared her gift with us.

Love this book although I had problems with the file. When I tried Kindle, the format is ruined and the letters were mixed up... everything is unreadable. When I try to download the pdf file, the pages were blank on Adobe. I legit thought the files have a virus (still kind of worried). Though when I opened it on the Netgalley app, everything is fine.

The stories for each card is quite personal and I think this is a great book to have if you are trying to learn tarot because it makes learning more personal, like each card has a story.

What an interesting kind of tarot book. I've read several books on tarot, but never one like this. It was a very personal perspective, and I think(?) touches on every tarot card at least once, though upright or reversed, depending on how the author pulled the cards over the course of two years. Because of this, it isn't in the usual order of a tarot book, with the major and then minor arcana in order. I think this would be an interesting book for people who are more familiar with tarot, for an additional perspective. I did personally struggle as I am less familiar, which is why I would recommend it for people who already know tarot, or to be read in tandem with another tarot book, as I would've liked to (and should've) checked each card's meaning.

I love books like this, ones you can read straight through, at whim, or look up specific cards. I have recently gotten back into tarot, after a many decades break, and while I know the cards through and through, I love getting new insights. THat is the gift of tarot. There are so many different ways we can look at the cards. When something really resonates, I write it down. I lost track of how many notes I jotted from this book. The writing is superb - warm, friendly, knowledgeable but relaxed. I was happy to find out that she has published other works. Nothing I love more than finding a new author with a back catalog.

This was a rather new and fresh take on working with and interpreting Tarot Cards.
The first time I 'laid my Eyes upon' the Cover, it gave in combination with the Title to me the feeling of old friends meeting over a cup of Tea, and I thought it fitting.

The Author laid bare a journey she went through with her Cards. Her Tarot Tuesday would reveal to her AND us, the reader, what may lie ahead.
She also explained the meaning of each Card with the REVERSED meanings, too.
An absolute Plus in my Book, tbh.

For me a nice 4 🌟 Rating.

This book transcends the conventional how-to-read tarot guide, offering a deeper exploration into building a profound relationship with the cards. It's really enlightening and suitable for those who recently delved into tarot and for seasoned practitioners seeking fresh insights to deepen their understanding. I have had always been fascinated with tarot, but I find it difficult to read and interpret the court cards. However, I do find the way the author describe and her insights of these cards to be helpful and interesting as they offer unique perspectives while being informative.
