I wasn't sure what to expect of Midnight Ruin because the youngest Dimitriou sister is always portrayed as meek and overprotected, but oh my goodness was I glad to be surprised. Eurydice finds herself with not one but two men who will do anything in their power to keep her happy, and maybe they'll learn to *enjoy* one another's company as well. The spice was spicing in this one, and even with a load of spice, the plot was action packed. Somehow Katee managed to get into exploration of kink (specifically puppy play), budding polyamory, societal conflict, and personal growth, all in one, fairly quick read.
The audio narration is top notch, as usual for the Dark Olympus books. Characters are easy to identify, emotions well explored. Nothing to complain about and everything to love!

Like the other books in the series, this one picks up right where the previous book ended. As a consequence of the events of Cruel Seduction, things are even more unstable and dangerous in Olympus with all the attacks happening to the Thirteen and their families.
Finally, we come to Eurydice's story. Ever the sheltered daughter and sister, she is ready to take charge of her own life and make her own decisions. Starting by acting on the attraction she feels for Charon, who has been her best friend since she arrived in the lower city almost a year ago.
By his turn, the stern Charon, Hades's right-hand man, is finally breaking his own resolve with Eurydice. Despite both of them being clearly attracted to each other, Eurydice doesn't want to move on with Charon when she's still in need of some closure with Orpheus. Eurydice still hasn't forgiven (nor forgotten) Orpheus for his betrayal (he didn't cheat on her!) in the events of Neon Gods.
Charon is willing to give her anything she needs in order to heal, including talking to Orpheus and convincing him to go to the lower city. Orpheus, to his credit, isn't so good himself. He's been miserable ever since breaking things with Eurydice, and even though he's certain he doesn't deserve her forgiveness, he wants to give her the closure she needs to move on, even if it's not with him.
As always, Katee Robert does an incredible job of writing diverse characters. Honestly, everyone is queer may be my favorite tag. This book has also two of my favorite tropes: second chance and friends to lovers.
This book felt very much like a filler, plot-wise. I'm not completely mad about it, since I love the politics of this series. But I was expecting more. I was glad to finally have Orpheus's POV because I knew nothing about him other than he was a piece of shit. And I thought he would grovel more — and he should have, imo. I changed my mind a little about Orpheus but he didn't completely convince me. Charon, on the other hand, is my man! The way he carries himself and his confidence is SO DAMN HOT!
It's a great book, I have my reservations when it comes to how quickly their relationship developed. They did talk and settle things up, however Orpheus's grovel stayed more in the sex penance aspect of things. I'm also not mad about it because the smut was phenomenal, honestly one of Katee Robert's best. The puppy play, even though I already knew it would be part of the story, took me by surprise. I had never read anything like this and it was so good.
And as far as the development of the underlying plot goes, it was incredible. There was a lot more action in this book and the confirmation of some theories I already had (I WAS RIGHT ABOUT WHO MINOS'S BENEFECTOR WAS! 🤩). I can't wait to see how this all unfolds in the next books.
The ending was rushed. It didn't feel like an ending, you know? It should've been at least one more chapter to wrap things up better, at least in what concerns the throuple.
Concerning the narration, it isn't bad but it's definitely not my favorite. I still have the same complaint as when I listened to Cruel Seduction. A dual narration and literally just two narrators for a book that has more than two main characters/POVs just sucks. I recognize the effort of the male narrator because he changed his voice when narrating Charon and Orpheus, but it is still not ideal.

I absolutely love this author and series! These books are always what I never knew I wanted in a Greek mythology retelling. The audiobook is produced so well with multiple narrators that just draw you into the story. I loved that we got Eurydice’s story (I still need Hera’s!) intertwined with Charon and Orpheus. The political intrigue is expertly woven into the romance and I’m obsessed! Love this series!

3.5 stars
I’m fully invested in the Dark Olympus series! I always enjoy catching up with all the characters and intrigue. I didn’t connect as much with the romantic plot of this coupling as much as previous books but we’re running out of permutations by the 6th book (7th if you count the prequel). Speaking of the prequel, I would very much love to see more FF interaction in the next installment. That’s one combo we haven’t seen since the prequel.

Welcome back to Olympus!
Midnight Ruin, book six in Katee Robert’s popular Dark Olympus series, features Aphrodite’s sister Eurydice, Hades’ right-hand man Charon, and Upper City artist/socialite Orpheus trying to navigate the dynamics of their relationship while also facing an unknown political threat.
This was a great read and it was nice to have Zara Hampton-Brown and Alex Moorcock back as narrators. They really do a great job of capturing the moody vibes of the series and the multifaceted personalities of each character.
I loved the way Charon’s love for Eurydice included giving her the space she needed to figure out her needs on her own terms, rather than just trying to solve things for her. And the relationship development between Charon and Orpheus felt natural, like they were always meant to be in each other's lives.
Note: Midnight Ruin ends on a bit of a cliffhanger, but I think it just adds to the excitement of the upcoming next release in the series!
Thank you to NetGalley, Dreamscape Media and Katee Robert. These are my honest thoughts.

Tropes: Second Chance Romance, Friends to Lovers, MMF, Forced Proximity
Kinks: Pining, Groveling, Puppy Play, Humiliation/Shame Kink, Praise Kink, Penance
TW: Violence, Murder, Blood, Guns, Pregnancy (not the heroine), Abortion (not the heroine)
Thank you to Dreamscape Media and NetGalley for providing me with an ALC in exchange for my honest opinion.
Midnight Ruin follows Eurydice, Orpheus, and Charon. Eurydice has always been the innocent sister with an ex, Orpheus, that shattered her heart. Orpheus wants Eurydice back and will do whatever it takes to get her back. Charon is Eurydice's best friend, but he is happy to give her whatever she wants, even if it's him, which Orpheus is not a fan of. Can the three of them learn to get along or will they get it wrong?
I've been reading this series since the beginning, and I'm not going to lie, I don't remember much of the first 2 books. It's been like 2 years 😅 I enjoyed these characters, especially with the groveling and kinks. Also, each individual character had their own struggles, goals, and passions, but they still meshed so well together. This was a fun, fast-paced read. The romance and spice were top-notch, per usual. Katee just knows how to write some delicious spice scenes. While reading this, that TikTok sound that says "WALK HIM LIKE A DOG" kept playing over and over in my head. Absolutely loved how Katee wrote Orpheus' character -- she made him beg and crawl for Eurydice's forgiveness. It was a bonus to see Persephone being a badass too! I'm really enjoying this series, and I look forward to the next book! Maybe I'll do a reread of this series before Dark Restraint releases, but don't hold me too it LOL.

This is my third Katee Robert book, and by far my favorite. I love how the world has evolved since the first book.
The Polyamory Rep was Awesome, and the fact that the smut was early is always a plus. The romance was well paced, and I appreciate that the love between Charon and Orpheus wasn't rushed, and that it wasn't dominated by toxicity.
The narration was an absolute pleasure, and really served to highlight the triple perspective.
One of my new favorite polyamorous dark romances!

The lastest intallment of the Neon Gods series does not dissappoint. Midnight Ruin follows Eurydice the youngest sister of the Dimitriou clan. Eurydice has been staying in the underworld for almost a year and Charon, Hades' right hand man is in charge of looking after her. In order to start a relationship Eurydice must confornt her past with Orpheus, her ex.

book 6 in the ever popular 'dark olympus' romance series, 'midnight ruin' follows the polycule comprised of eurydice, charon, & orpheus, and continues the plot of growing tensions in olympus between the upper & lower cities. i enjoyed this one! the romance featured in this book was hot, & it actually felt like we finally got some plot development!

Thank you to Dreamscape Media and NetGalley for the ALC!
⭐⭐⭐.5/5
Midnight Ruin is the 6th book in the Dark Olympus series but can be read as a standalone.
Eurydice Dimitriou has always been the innocent sister, but she's finally ready to step out of the long shadow cast by her powerful family…and the ex who shattered her heart. Perhaps rough hands on soft skin are exactly what she needs to forget her heartbreak once and for all?
Charon Ariti has been Hades's right-hand man for years. He's given everything to the lower city, but now he's ready to take something for himself. He's only too happy to give Eurydice a special kind of education…but is her heart really free enough to be claimed?
Orpheus Makos will do whatever it takes to make things right. Once the golden boy of the upper city, he's now a shadow of his former self. He'll do anything to get Eurydice back…even if it means she's not coming into his arms alone. Three hearts. Three futures. Countless ways to get it wrong.
But with enemies slipping through Olympus's faltering barrier to lay siege on the lower city, a trio of broken hearts will be the least of these would-be lovers' worries…
This one is MFM and just a fun time. There is both a friends to lovers romance happening and then a second chance situation happening too, plus a triad situation. It works for them, the audio worked for me.
I highly recommend this! As expected, this was very very spicy and did not disappoint! I loved the relationship dynamic between Eurydice, Orpheus and Charon. You can tell they really love/care for one another.
As always, the narrators Zara Hampton-Brown and AlexMoorcock bring these characters to life with their performances. I can’t imagine any other duo narrating the Dark Olympus books!

A fun and raunchy Katee Roberts, I like how this book is much more of a fast burn then the previous books. We get hot and heavy very quickly and besides a few chapters on initial wavering, very quickly the three characters are like year we're gonna be a thing.
Plot wise, a whole lot happens in this book. I think it's definitely a turning point in the series. We find out who the Big Bad is and Hades is forced to make some policy decisions at the end of the book that will have huge ramifications on Olympus. This book is doing a lot of set up for the next few, and now that (i think) all the major characters are on the board, there will be a lot of pieces falling together for the next few books.
The relationship development was very cute. Charon-Eurydice has a very wholesome protector, friends who truly love each other vibe, Orpheus and Eurydice get the second-chance romance arc, and Orpheus handles all the groveling and repenting like a champ. I also really like Charon-Orpheus, they're very stalwart together and I like how respectful they are.
A really fun. book, I think this is probably one of my favorites in the series

Wow what a book! I listened to the audiobook of this instalment in the series and loved it. The audiobook was done so well. It was easy to listen to and kept my attention the whole time. The story was phenomenal. Whilst it is a part of a series that I have only read the first book of I was able to follow the story quite well. The story intrigued me enough that I will be going back to read the rest of the series and eagerly waiting for the next book to come out.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publishers for an Arc copy in exchange for an honest review

I think anytime there's a series that is this many books, there are going to be some books that hit better for people than others. I liked this one but it's not in my group of favorites - partly because as this series goes on, I find myself caring less and less about the plot, which in some cases are starting to have more of a role in these books and in some cases not so much.
As always with Katee, the spicy scenes are on point! This one has a kink I've never read before and was curious if it would be too much for me, but it really wasn't! I think her throuple scenes are some of my favorite and in this case in particular, many of the spicy scenes really moved the relationship(s) forward.
These two narrators have done the other books in the series and I continue to really enjoy their performances! Especially for the male narrator, I feel like he did a really good job at differentiating the two male characters so you could absolutely tell whose POV we were in!
Thank you to Dreamscape Media and Netgalley for the ALC. All thoughts and opinions are my own and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

The throuples that Katee Robert writes is great. Although, Wicked Beauty is still superior. I received an audio review copy of this book from Netgalley, all opinions are my own.
This is another great installment in the Dark Olympus world. Things are finally progressing as far as the mafia politics of the storyline. I really like Eurydice and it was great to see her stand on her own to feet in this.
As far as spice goes, I think this is more kink specialty so definitely look up trigger/content warnings. I think the romance really relied on past actions so it needed more development for me. It seemed reactionary, if that makes sense.
Overall, it's a good book in the series.

I love Katee Roberts books but this was probably my least favorite of the Dark Olympus books so far. Even as my least favorite it’s not like I disliked it. The spice was good and I appreciate the new plot info I just wasn’t attached to the couple that much. Can’t wait for the next one.
The narrators did a good job just like they usually do.

Rating: 4/5
I received an audio for my honest opinion.
This is the sixth book of the Dark Olympus series, and it will not disappoint you. In this book you will get to know Eurydice, Charon, and Orpheus more and understand their story. Also, how they might fit into the massive political move being made in Olympus.
I really wasn’t into polyamorous couples in the book before I read Roberts' works, but with her writing style, her plots, and the characters, I love it. I loved that in this book you really got to see and feel the trust, love, and understanding between the characters. It wasn’t something that was forced upon them but something that they all wanted but didn’t really know it.
I thought the character development was done well in this book and you can see the changes that the characters want and how they will make sure that they all get their happy ending and all being together to get them to it. I enjoyed getting to see two characters get a second chance at love again and the other character brought into this relationship to make his love happy but ended up falling in love with the male as well.
I know that a lot of this book was filled with the politics of Olympus, and not a lot of people really liked that about this book, but it has me really, really wanting the next book right away because I have to know whose story is told next and what is going to happen to all the characters that we already know about.
I received the audio of this book, and it was amazing. I thought the narrators did an amazing job of bringing the characters to life, and making the audience have a connection with the readers. I will listen to another audiobook done by either of these narrators if I have a chance.
I want to thank NetGalley and Dreamscape Media for the opportunity to review this book.

The audiobooks for this series honestly are always really good! I like that for the two male characters you could tell the difference in narration.

So I think it is fair to say the moment I'm approved for a Katee Robert - Dark Olympus ARC I will drop everything to read it immediately and this was no different. This was such a good addition to the series though it was more spice and less political intrigue/plot when compared to the other installments. I can say the narrators Zara Hampton-Brown and Alex Moorcock continue to do a fantastic job with the audio - even with two distinct MMCs.
If you already love this series RUN for the new and worthy addition to the series!

Thank you Dreamscape Media for providing me with an ALC in exchange for my honest thoughts.
I will forever and always eat the Dark Olympus books up but Midnight Ruin was one of my least favorite installments to date. Midnight Ruin follows the tangled up lives of Eurydice, Orpheus and Charon. Out of the three leads, Eurydice was my favorite. Her POV was my favorite to read and I thought she was the most fleshed out character. In the scope of Dark Olympus men, Orpheus and Charon blend into the background.
A lot of Midnight Ruin is spent reiterating the political landscape of Olympus. It started to feel repetitive. I trust Katee Robert to pull it all off by the end of this series but I gosh, it feels like we are going in circles a little bit. On the bright side, we finally got some amazing reveals which make me even more excited to read the next book this summer!

After reading a number of Katee Robert’s books both in this series and others, I’ve come to the conclusion that the polyamorous couples are always more interesting and fun to read about, and this book is no exception to the rule, and it honestly might be my favourite of the series so far. I didn’t go into this book with a lot of expectations, but I did end up really enjoying it, even if the development of the couple felt a little bit more surface level than some of the others in the series since we were working with a lot of pre-established connections. As always, I absolutely love the ways that the romance/erotic elements are interwoven with the politics of the Dark Olympus universe and it honestly elevates this book from just being a fun read to something interesting to think about after the fact.
The audiobooks are also becoming my favourite way to read this series and I think Zara Hampton-Brown and Alex Moorcock do a great job of inhabiting the characters. Probably my only critique of the audio is that because Moorcock does the narration for both Orpheus and Charon and there isn’t much differentiation between their voices, there were a few times I got their chapters mixed up when I started in the middle of one, but usually it was pretty easy to figure out.
All in all, I think that this book delivers what it promises and continues the very intriguing plot that’s been brewing since the first book. I have some mixed feelings about some of the future pairings but I will definitely be tuning into some of the future audiobooks for more fun polyamorous couples and seeing what ends up happening!
