"Midnight Ruin" is a pivotal installment in the ongoing series, and as a devoted reader, the anticipation surrounding Eurydice's story finally comes out. The narrative successfully delves into Eurydice's past, particularly her tumultuous relationship with Orpheus, and unveils her present complexities as she navigates new dynamics with her bodyguard, Charon.

The trio dynamic between Eurydice, Charon, and the new character adds an intriguing layer to the story. Exploring their evolving relationship centralizes themes of healing and love to the series. However, when introducing humiliation elements, it isn't something I'm into personally.

While the book does provide some answers to ongoing mysteries, there is a sense that certain aspects of the storyline still need to be developed. I wanted more depth and exploration into the central conflicts and resolutions.
The choice to maintain a threesome relationship, despite the presence of Orpheus, was a divisive one for me. Some may appreciate the continuation of the established dynamic. In contrast, Eurydice's journey could have been more effectively portrayed by moving on with a new love interest, avoiding the potential complications and emotional baggage of involving a third party.

On a positive note, the audiobook's narration by Zara Hampton-Brown and Alex Moorcock is commendable. Their ability to breathe life into the characters enhances the overall listening experience, making the audiobook a compelling option for fans of the series.

In conclusion, "Midnight Ruin " is a mixed bag, with moments of genuine enjoyment and anticipation for the next installment. The strong narration adds value to the overall experience, but including certain elements may leave readers with reservations about the series' direction. Despite its flaws, the book maintains reader interest and sets the stage for future developments in the beloved series.

- thank you Dreamscape, Netgalley, and Katee Robert for this ALC -
Midnight Ruin is one of the stories I been patiently waiting for, since I first met Eurydice Dimitriou in Neon Gods! This is book 6 in the series.
Eurydice Dimitriou is the sweet innocent baby sister who ex shattered her heart, and has grown and is now wanting to stand on her own two feet. Then we meet Charon Ariti who is Hades right hand man, and has the task to guard Eurydice, but we know how that is going to go. And then we are reintroduce to Orpheus Makos who is the dude that broke my girl Eurydice's heart.
I enjoyed the story line and the spicy scenes were good, but I felt like this book dragged a little, but once we got toward the end. It picked up! I would highly read this book.

I listened to an audio arc of this book.
This is my honest review.

I adore the narrators of this series.
They have the most captivating voices.
I could probably listen to them read a grocery list and be entertained.
Highly recommend the audio versions of this series.

It is always such a treat to venture back in the Dark Olympus series.

My favorite thing about Katee Roberts is her ability to write a series where each book focuses on different love stories, but overall there is an ongoing plot that ties all the books together.

I’m not a fan of the Love Triangle trope… but if they all ended like this it’d be my favorite trope.

We have a love story that has three parties involved. One of the relationships is a friends to lovers, one a second chance romance, and one a bit of enemies to lover.

So it’s easy to see how their was heavy tension that built to some steamy scenes.

We have some major groveling! It is the proper level every second chance romance needs.

We see some puppy play and degradation kinks. They are laid out so well showing consent on all parts, and allowing safe words to end if need be.

The way it all came together really made the relationships build on trust and care and not just attraction.

I cannot wait to see what happens next with the politics in Olympus and the 13. What is Hermes up to? There’s a new player (not naming bc spoiler) and I need to know what they want.

I also loved seeing so much Hades and Persephone. It’s so nice seeing the couple who began it all!

CW/TW: Abortion
I just want to note that the abortion in this book was not viewed with judgement by anyone in the book. There is zero debate on what the side character decided to do.

I say that because for me (and this is a preference) reading about people fighting over abortion is bothersome. The context of the subject within this story did not bother me.

(4.5) I have yet to read a Katee Robert book that I don’t have a good time reading. This one is up there near the top of my favorites though. It’s got everything that the rest of this series has; the characters, the steam, the drama. But this one really stepped it up in terms of turmoil and twists and that’s a big reason it stood out for me. It also felt the most balanced in terms of plot and steam. And the steam… ooo mama it was hot. Big fan. Eurydice was likeable from the start and I liked how opinionated she was and how much she was willing to push. Charon is the tough but simp mc that we can all root for. And I liked Orpheus and the route he had to take. He starts at the bottom, literally, and has to grovel is way back into Eurydice’s good graces. Tbh he probably should have had to grovel a bit more. I liked how characters from the past 5 books interlaced throughout this one while still giving us our main three characters. All in all a very good spicy romance book and I’m already looking forward to the next one!

Tropes:
-second chance
-mmf
-friends to lovers
-a bit of dom/sub

I loved the drama in this one and the fact that I got more of the potential fall of Olympus made this even better. Oh and more Hades and Persephone, please. I would read an entire series just based on these two.

Out of the three, Charon, Eurydice and Orpheus, I would choose Charon every time. Hands down.
This felt like a second change romance for Eurydice and Orpheus and honestly it’s a no for me. I know Orpheusnis sorry for his part in what happened to Eurydice and she feels like he paid his penance but I disagree. She is obvi more forgiving than me.

There is a part of this book that touches on Ariadne and it makes me very, very excited for the next book!

DNF, I didn't realize this was pup-play. Not a kink shame but pup-play and degradation are two that I just can't read about. I tried to skip the sex to get plot but kept just getting more sex lol, it is a Katee Robert book so not too surprised but I was hoping to stay on the plot of the world for the next book

Thank you NetGalley for this ALC.
Unfortunately this one didn't hit home for me.
The male narrator was distracting. I didn't enjoy any scenes that he narrated, and it all felt very cringey.
Including (but not limited to) the spicy scenes.
I'm not sure if I would have a different opinion about the book if I had read it vs listening, but this is the format I was provided so I have to base my opinion off of that.

I’m always so impressed by this series! We are six books into the Dark Olympus series and it just keeps getting better each time. Typically with most books at this point in the series it starts to feel dragged on and repetitive. But, with this one that’s surely not the case.

The world building is phenomenal. I feel like that’s not talked about enough with this series. The world building and politics of it all is enthralling. I know a lot of people go into these books for the smut but it really is so much more than that.

The narrators voices were also very nice and that added so much to the story as well.

Another fun entry into the Dark Olympus series! I love Orpheus and Eurydice, and adding Charon to the mix was very fun! The narrators were incredible as usual, I always love their delivery. This isn't my top book in the series, but I loved Eurydice taking back her power. I feel like this book is setting up a lot that will come up in the next few, and I can't wait to see what's coming!

It took me a lot longer to get into Midnight Ruin than the other books in the Dark Olympus series. While I didn’t dislike it, I definitely think it is my least favorite so far. I liked Eurydice as a character, but I don’t know how I felt about Charon or Orpheus. While it was definitely an entertaining read, there wasn’t much plot until the very end and I felt like the end was almost TOO much plot in such a short amount of time. I’m excited to see where the story goes, though.

Thank you to NetGalley for the audio ARC in exchange of an honest review.

I couldn’t wait to start this book. I love a good second chance romance but I was worried that I wouldn’t have it in me to forgive Orpheus but I trust Katee and was eager to see his path to redemption. I was also a little worried about the relationship dynamic between the three of them since I was not a huge fan of the dynamic between Achilles, Patroclus, and Helen. I shouldn’t have been worried in either case. I came to really love their relationship.

I’ve decided that Charon can do no wrong. I love that man so much! I was worried there for a while that he wouldn’t get the love and devotion he deserved. But as long as he is happy, I’m happy.

Orpheus had so much growth from the first time we saw him and I grew to like him a lot.

Eurydice wasn’t my favorite character. She was sheltered and spoiled and tired of being sheltered so she would act recklessly. She was overly confident so sometimes instead of feeling like a strong and rebellious woman, she felt like a spoiled child throwing a tantrum.

I think my biggest complaint about this book is that I was left wanting more from the ending. I remember reading the last page and was surprised it was the last page. Maybe the bonus content will help give me more closure.

I enjoyed the the new information we gained about Olympus and I’m starting to guess who Hermes’ love interest will be. I can’t wait to see if I am right.

I always forget that these books are narrated with English accents and I really enjoy it. Zara Hampton-Brown is great as Eurydice. I think her voice might fit this sister best of all. Alex Moorcock is also very enjoyable narrator but I think his voice better fits with how I imagine Orpheus than how I imagined Charon. He was too refined.

Thank you Netgalley and Sourcebooks Casablanca for this ALC!

- I think something I have been struggling with this series is how tricky it is to balance the politics/world building, the relationships, and the spice. I think this one was the one that suffered the most because we see Orpheus, Eurydice, and Charon so much in earlier books that it felt like they didn't get enough development in this book before things escalated.
- That being said, I did appreciate the little newspaper recap at the beginning! That helped me a ton!
- This is a pet peeve of mine, but I cannot stand the term "endgame" being used seriously.
- I was impressed by the relationships between the three MCs by the end. I think they needed more development in the first third, but the last two thirds made up for that!
- The reveal at the end does have me really wanting to continue the series!
- I thought the audio was so helpful for keeping the three POVs separate!

Charon x Eurydice x Orpheus polyam featuring friends to lovers, second chance, and a fairly heavy handed degradation kink. The strength in this installment is the plot and the spice. If you’re as invested in the Dark Olympus series for its ever evolving plot and political intrigue you’re going to love this. The spice was pretty good too but I truly did not enjoy the relationship side of things. I felt like I opened the book smack in the middle of their relationship as the story opens with Charon and Eurydice professing their love for each other and Orpheus a changed man who would do anything to get Eurydice back - including being her willing sub. I think I was most invested in Orpheus’ burgeoning love for Charon but the rest of the triangle felt just... there. I didn’t buy into their romance and to me, they didn’t really work for it

The writing was done well, but it was not quite what I expected. The narration was excellent and brought the characters to life.
While there wasn't anything necessarily wrong with it, it just didn't stand out as anything spectacular for me.

I enjoyed this next installment in the series. It was fun to see Hades and Persephone come back. However, it is starting to feel like this series is getting a bit repetitive, and there are still 4 more books to go. I will be reading the rest though!

I love this series so much. Each book gives us so much information and this one does the same! This audiobook was great and I think the narrators were perfect for all of the characters.
I was dyinggggg for Eurydice's story and its even better that we get a love triangle (so to speak). THiS BOOK WAS HOT. And also more action packed than expected. I really loved the character development & boy was I ready for Eurydice to grow into her own person & stand up for herself!! Charon was so good for her, and I AM SO HAPPY ORPHEUS CAME AROUND! But the ending ugh I NEED MORE ANSWERS.

I AM READY FOR THE NEXT ONE!!!

Woooow! This might be the best one in the series. I absolutely adored everything about this trio. Seeing Eurydice finally take charge?! Yes, ma’am! Seeing Charon be an overprotective softie king. Yes, baby! Seeing Orpheus grovel on his knees and genuinely grow as a person?! Yes! Yes! Yes! The narrators for the audiobook did an amazing job and kept me so enveloped in the story that I couldn’t stop. Overall, it’s an amazing book and I am sooooo ready for Ariadne and the Minotaur

Where to start?

I love the Dark Olympus series, and as much as I loved Charon, Eurydice, and Orpheus, I felt like, besides the smut, which I loved, their relationship happened very quickly, and I wish there had been more buildup, especially between Charon and Orpheus.

There is so much that happens during this story that I felt like the relationship between the trio took a backseat. I also feel as if the story kind of ends abruptly, and I wish we had a chapter or two more to finish out the story and feel more complete.

I did love seeing the return of characters from previous stories, especially Hades and Persephone, as well as Medusa, Calypso, and Minthe. I liked seeing Eurydice come into her own, being able to find her footing in the Lower City, and seeing her relationship with her sisters evolve as she tries to take on more responsibility. As rushed as it felt, I enjoyed the storyline progressing and seeing some big reveals being made, and I cannot wait to see how it continues on through the rest of the series.

I was given the opportunity to listen to the audiobook, and I absolutely loved the male narrator in Radiant Sin. I'm not quite sure he was the best fit for this story, at least for Charon. The usage of the nickname "baby" for Eurydice felt wrong to me, especially when spoken by the narrator. I also felt as if Charon swore too much throughout the story, and hearing it so often in the narration was slightly jarring. I do think that the narrators did their best, and I still enjoyed listening.

Overall, while it might not have been my favorite of the series, I'm excited to see how the rest plays out and, of course, enjoy the fantastic smut we will no doubt be getting.

Thank you SO much to Netgalley and Dreamscape Media for an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Katee Robert is back! I'm not gonna lie, the last few in this series fell kind of flat for me. The chemistry just wouldn't or couldn't match what I saw in Neon Gods but I don't know what inspires Robert. My current theory is that she just thrives in the lower city but whatever magic she needed she sure found.

Midnight Ruin picks up following the events of Cruel Seduction. Charon and Eurydice finally make their feelings known to each other after a year of friendship and start doing something about it. In step Orpheus- who's only wish is to pay penance for his actions that lead to Eurydice being injured at the end of Neon Gods. Orpheus travels to the lower city at Orpheus' invitation to initiate some closure between him and Eurydice so that she and Charon can move forward. But in doing so it's discovered that Orpheus is more than happy to pay this penance on his knees. The puppy play aspect was not my cup of tea but it was still both heart warming and hot to see him totally give himself over as an apology. The dynamic between these three never lacked for chemistry and didn't take an huge leaps that didn't take the reader with them. In summary- I love them and am so pleased they got a happy for now.

The other aspect of this book that really brought it up to the 4th star. These are action/ romance and in past books I have seen Robert sacrifice one in the name of the other but this one was balanced SO well. Spice then action then spice and hey! more action. it was great.

I am so fully invested in how Olympus is going to come together to fight off the top secret big bad (revealed in this book) and am only annoyed that it's going to take 4 more books to see this resolved. Oddly enough I'm also glad I have that many more in the series to read!

This is an audio so I also want to note that the narrator for Eurydice was great but I think the male narrator sounds like a stuffy old white man and it didn't fit either of our MMCs.
