I loved this so, so much. It was the perfect companion on a sad evening home alone. The bright colors really pop against the melancholy.

This was a quick read. Cute and thought provoking, with simple artwork. Some of these hit spot-on and other didn't land, but it was a good book and I am glad I had the opportunity to read it.

3, we are not alone, stars.

My thanks to NetGalley and Andrews McMeel Publishing for an eARC of this book to read and review.

Thanks NetGalley and Andrews McMeel Publishing for this arc!

5/5 stars

This was just such a warm hug. I really liked how things were all so short, which made it really easy to pick up and put down at random. The illustrations and messages were all so comforting. A perfect addition to my cozy reads shelf 💗

This is a nice collection of feel good comics that provides comfort without being schmaltzy. The author's artwork is clean and simple, yet incredibly evocative. The little characters are not always happy, and sometimes they just want to be left alone . . . just like all of us, and they reassure us that this is okay. This book would be great to have on your shelf for any time you need a lift, or as a gift for a friend who's down.

I unfortunately had an issue with the Netgalley app and my download got deleted when I was only 50% of the way through so I can only review the first half but I absolutely loved it. So much that I’m going to order a physical copy to have on my bookshelf and so I can read the secondhand. I was reading a chapter before bed and it was like being wrapped up in a warm hug each night. Highly recommend!

Book 104 of 300 ~ 2024

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

I found myself relating to a number of pages in this book especially since 2024 started of and continues to be a tough one.

I saw some of my mates in others.

Cute, quirky, and yet still touching on some pertinent issues to do with mental health - I feel this was charmingly and brilliantly done.

I am a fan!

I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

Thank you to the author, Andrews McMeel Publishing and NetGalley, for an ARC in exchange for an honest review. My apologies for the delay in posting this review, I had a bit too much going on.

Once I started this book, I realized that I had seen a few of these drawings online - I loved this collection, but am not sure how to classify it. Not cartoons, but drawings, with one or two panels per page, communicating with astonishingly spare illustrations complex feelings and emotions. The message overall is encouraging and heartwarming.

Just what I needed 🥹

Somehow, this book manages to capture complex feelings and present them perfectly through minimal text and drawings. It is also a fun and engaging read despite discussing mental health and other heavy topics. Not only is it filled with wonderful reminders and powerful affirmations, I also loved the wry and punny humour.

Super relatable, uplifting and a must-read for everyone!

I know these are very popular online. This isn’t so much a graphic novel as a collection of one or two page panels. I wouldn’t call it a comedy. It’s more like self reflection of an anxiety victim. It was interesting and had its cute points , but overall, not something I would check out or ever read again.

I really enjoyed this little book, which is quick and easy to read. The author remains anonymous, but their messages and personality are brilliantly conveyed in their drawings! I would have loved to have had this book when I was a little younger: my friends who also share this author's passion for potatoes would have loved it and surely enjoyed their advice.

I received an advance reader copy of this book to read in exchange for an honest review via netgalley and the publishers.

Worry Lines: You're Doing Really Well Given the Circumstances is a great book for anyone who suffers from stress, anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, and life in general. I could resonate with about 80% of this book, and the illustrations are spot on and uplifting as they make you feel seen, understood, and recognised.
This was such a fun book to read through and is one I'm going to purchase in physical form to pick up whenever I'm low or struggling. The book is broken down into 14 sections after an introduction from the author (who also has an Instagram page called Worry Lines and is well worth checking out!). Honestly this book is like a warm hug from someone who just gets it!

I devoured this book in just a few hours. I had not come across this creator's work before, but I immediately connected to the tidbits and messages and advice on nearly every page. This was an excellent book and I encourage readers who need a breather try it out.

If you're in the mood for a good self-help graphic novel, this is for you. I am so thankful to the contributors and artists at Worry Lines who made this book possible, especially to Andrews McMeel Publishing for granting me access to it before it hits shelves on May 7, 2024.

Worry Lines: You're Doing Really Well Given the Circumstances walks readers through the levels of mental growth one undergoes when evaluating their health and stability. Each little comic so accurately depicts the process through which one finds they are struggling, the steps they take to grow with that struggle, and the outcomes in the long run.

Fans of graphic novels, self-help books, and realistic depictions of mental health journeys will appreciate Worry Lines with a newfound understanding and relation.

This was a fun book and really appropriate for me. I have a lot of anxiety and this book made me feel like I am not alone. It was something I kept coming back to on days I just needed to feel seen and I think it’s awesome a book can provide the comfort that this book did. I highly recommend it for all, but definitely for people with anxiety and/or depression. Uplifting drawings!

Some neat visualizations of difficult emotional states. I would have preferred to have read this in print, as I would have liked being able to pick it up and put it down, turning to random pages to see what I could learn from them. Some of this is cliched, but some is sarcastic, making for a fresher, less saccharine tone. Impressive examples of what can be done with just a few lines, if they're the right ones, and color.

This was a cute graphic novel that deals with mental health. Each page has a drawing and a few words of encouragement. I really enjoyed this, the words combined with each picture made for a fun and interesting read.

Worry Lines is a graphic novel/self-help book about conquering accepting your own mental health issues.

It is best to read this book as a daily reader rather than straight through. That was how the illustrations were originally released on Instagram. Most people will find something relatable within these pages. However, don’t expect any laugh-out-loud moments. Mental health is nothing to laugh at. Still, just knowing that you are not the only one with these thoughts in your head is ultimately a comforting thought. 4 stars!

Thanks to Andrews McMeel Publishing and NetGalley for a digital review copy of the book.
