I am glad to have found this reflection on womanhood. I found its stream of consciousness style mesmerizing, refreshing. It’s the kind of book you can open up to any page to read for a few minutes or can read straight through. A memoir told in a collection of essays was a nice break from the novel. It gave me time to reflect and permission to skim or jump around. The evolution between you, her and I was poetic, but I did find the first section told as “you” to be distracting. Her and I felt more natural. This work had made me seek out more of Lorri Nielsen’s Glenn’s poetry and experimental nonfiction. Thank you NetGalley for introducing me to this author.
