This was a decent story, easy to follow and interesting enough to keep me reading and guessing until the very end. I didn’t have high expectations going into it so I wasn’t as disappointed as some readers were. Now that I have read several books of this author I can definitely tell there is a pattern in her thrillers but I still find them interesting and entertaining.
I really liked the anonymous POV that was slowly developing throughout the book, it added an extra mystery to this story. Very clever!
Thank you NetGalley, Poisoned Press and the author for a free copy of ARC in exchange for my honest review.

Very enjoyable read and twists that you don’t see coming.
Suspenseful thriller, tense and one that you will keep looking over your shoulder for a while.
It was entertaining and a fun read, and I recommend.

Claire thought she was going on a week long getaway with her husband and friends. She was wrong. First the car breaks down and then the group gets lost... and then things get even worse. Freida McFadden does it again with this twisty, thought provoking story, where things may not be what what they seem.

I have read, at this time, all of Frieda McFadden’s books that are available. While this was not my favorite in her growing catalog, it was warmly reminiscent of one of my favorite Agatha Christie books/play, And Then There Were None.
I would say going into this book, you shouldn’t take it too seriously. This is a fun, but serious fast-paced thriller that is not meant to be the next great American novel. I say that affectionately, because while writing should make you think sometimes, others you just want something fun.
Much like ice cream I wouldn’t say it’s good for you but man it’s delicious in the moment.
If you enjoy books where characters get plucked off, one by one, a quirky who dunnit’, or a couple hours of hyper-engaging drama with a classic McFadden twist you’ll never see coming, of course check it out.

She did it again with so many twists and turns you thought you guessed it then you didn't. But this time I did not guess this one at all. I got a little bit of Five Survive by Holly Jackson vibes a little. Something that got my attention was there was the same saying in this one as there was in The Coworker. “Two people can’t keep a secret,” she says. “Not unless one of them is dead. I love it when the books connect like that. The killer was certainly a surprise to me but that little extra on the end was so good I was shocked and wanted more.

If you're new to the world of Freida McFadden, I suggest you pick up this book and dive in! This was a great thriller for someone who is just getting into psychological thrillers or Freida herself as an author. I enjoyed the different twists and turns but questioned some of the things that happened in the beginning. Some of the things the characters were doing or saying didn't really track or make sense to me. However, I can't say exactly how I would react if I was stranded in the woods looking for my vacation inn. The twist was great and I stand by my statement of Freida being the queen of all epilogues.
If you're looking for a fast paced psychological thriller, pick this one up. So good!!!
I am on track to read every one of Freida's books and I am so excited! Each of them have their own twists and turns and she's one of my favorite authors. Thank you so much to NetGalley, Poisoned Pen Press, and Freida McFadden for this ARC!

It was a really fun read! I didn’t guess the ending and I was a bit surprised, but it was nothing that blew my mind. It came to an end super quickly, and I wish there were a bit more twists and turns. I also wasn’t really rooting for any of the characters because they all sucked. But super fun easy read for less than 300 pages!

If Freida writes it, I’m going to read it. To me, this is one of Freida’s spookiest ones yet! Of course, I didn’t see the ending coming and I was shocked. I was hooked as soon as I started reading it!

As always, I never figure it out which is great. I want to be surprised by the ending and enjoy the process of trying to figure it out. I liked the one but it wasn’t my favorite from the author. I personally loved The Teacher and The Locked Door. There isn’t one of her books that I’ve disliked and that says a lot. You’re not board with her books and you keep reading because you know the reveal will be great. She doesn’t miss the small stuff. All the details are there for a reason and I like how she always ties the loose ends even if it’s that the future is open for something else to happen.

Okay so yes this novel requires suspended disbelief but I’m okay with that. The foreshadowing is great. The anonymous character chapters are excellent at giving the backstory that isn’t known in the moment to the characters.

Whenever I pick up a Freida McFadden book, I know it is going to be good. She is just that consistent as a thriller writer. While this wasn’t one of my favorites by her, it was still completely entertaining, fast paced and a quick read with a surprise ending.

Another really great book by Freida! The whole time I was guessing and the plot at the end I just never saw coming!! Fast paced finished in 24hrs

I absolutely loved this book! Frieda McFadden is amazing at writing thrillers that keep your eyes glued to the page. I read this book in what sitting (literally sitting on the edge of my seat the whole time.) I couldn’t put it down!

This book is about a couples camping trip gone horribly wrong. There is murder, mystery, infidelity, and shocking twists! I would highly recommend this book.

Another great plot twist and captivating story by Freida McFadden. I enjoyed it very much and couldn't put it down. Except for the plot twists and wow moments, this one was very different, and I liked the premise. Thank you #netgalley for this ARC in exchange for my honest opinion.

As always another great read by Freida McFadden, she is one of my favorite authors!!! Would definitely recommend reading this!!!

Thank you NetGalley for providing access to this ARC of Freida McFadden’s One by One. Honestly, this was a miss for me for a few reasons: 1) overused trope - friends in the woods getting picked off like flies, “one by one;” 2) highly repetitive prose; 3) the ending wasn’t that satisfying to me. Tremendously quick read, so if you’re looking for a mindless read maybe this is for you? But it just didn’t have substance for me and didn’t grip me. I would recommend The Housemaid over this in an instant. 2/5 rating, sadly, for me on this one.

I love a good And Then There Were None style thriller, and this one did not disappoint! Freida McFadden always has one more twist up her sleeve at the very end, which I love.
This was a quick and easy read that was hard to put down. Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for this ARC in exchange for an honest review!

3.5 stars. Solid mystery/thriller! Took a little to get off the ground, but overall it was a super quick read (my #1 requisite for thriller books). Wasn’t totally shook by the reveals but still was surprised.

Claire and Noah are parents and their marriage is going through a rough patch. They are setting out vacation and both are dreading it. On the way to a remote cabin to meet up with their friends their van breaks down. They are stuck with each other and their secrets. Then their friends start passing away. Chapters alternate between Claire and the mysterious anon. I found the book to be a very easy read and definitely kept me guessing. Frieda did it again with a win! A definite must read!
