While I did fly through this book, I ended up guessing the largest plot twist by page 20. Keep us on our toes! Don't make things so obvious for who it is.

WOW!!! Unexpected!! Freida McFadden has become a must read for me. The traps and pitfalls, the psychological drama, the characters and even her scenes are all taut with drama. This one though, made me a littler sadder. Colorado is such a beautiful place to have such a menacing encounter.

I've been on a Freida McFadden kick lately and was thrilled that I received an arc copy from Netgalley. I loved that the setting took place in Colorado, I always love when books connect with where I'm from. However, this ended up not being my favorite book by her. I didn't care for the characters from the beginning and was underwhlemed by the twists at the end. This was a quick thriller and I would recommend it if you're a fan of the author. Otherwise I would try out a differetny book by her first.

I’m not quite sure what it was about this book, but it really turned me away from reading any more Frieda McFadden books. This was my first by her, and it was so unrealistic and ridiculous, I binged the whole thing because I was so irritated and just wanted it to be over. I do plan on reading more of her books because of how much hype she’s getting, but I have low expectations.

Well, I absolutely didn’t see this coming!! What a ride! Six friends off for a week’s vacation and things start to happen. I have to admit, the middle of the book didn’t seem realistic to me, but the ending was totally unexpected so I gave it five stars. Thank you to Net Galley and Poisoned Pen Press for an advanced reader copy in exchange for my honest opinion.

This was my first book by Freida McFadden and it definitely won't be my last! It kept me on my toes until the very end and I was pleasantly surprised at all of the twists and turns that I didn't see coming.

Freida McFadden sure knows how to write a story and suck you in from the very beginning.
Let me start off by saying I did not like any of the characters. I felt like they were all selfish and a little annoying. With that being said I feel like you weren’t supposed to like them. I also felt like there was a lot of missing pieces which I don’t want to say since it was an ARC and not a finish piece. Either way I really did like the story and I was thoroughly entertained. 4🌟
Thank you Netgalley and Poisoned Pen Press for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Wowza that was a quick and fast paced read!!
Group of 6 supposed to be going to a remote cabin and breakdown in woods before arrival.
Claire is our main narrator, mom of two, on the trip with her husband, Noah and they are having marital problems, Her best friend from college Lindsay, Lindsay’s boyfriend and Jack Claire’s husbands best friend from college and his wife Michelle. Other narrator scattered throughout book is listed as anonymous, didn’t figure it out either until I was told!!! What a twist!!
Kept me engaged, wanted to know more, and hard time putting it down!!
Didn’t understand why they went off the “road” when they broke down instead of just following the road to the cabin……
Thanks to Netgalley for my electronic advanced reader copy in exchange for my honest review!! All opinions are my own!

Have you ever found yourself trapped in a nightmare, lost in the woods, with none other than the person you've come to despise?
For Claire, that nightmare became a reality when a remote weekend retreat in a secluded resort turned into a trip straight from hell. Her minivan broke down and left her, the husband (she once loved but now hates), and two more couples left alone in the woods to fend for themselves.
As the darkness of the woods enveloped them, it began to unveil the secrets festering within each relationship and person. With an anonymous dangerous force lurking in the shadows, the six of them have to try to survive but they quickly realise that not all of them will make it home unscathed.
'One by One' by Freida McFadden has a very interesting premise. The characters have all unique personalities and promise to deliver an interesting story. dual narrative approach, alternating between Claire's perspective and that of an enigmatic Anonymous narrator, adds depth to the storytelling, offering glimpses into both light and shadow.
While the story brims with twists and suspense keep you at the edge of your seat, urging you to figure out who is lying and who is telling the truth, there are instances where clarity falters, and lapses in consistency or plausibility arise. While this is a work of fiction, certain things were hard to believe especially when the author didn't provide any sort of clarification... In addition, the inclusion of two epilogue chapters, particularly the latter, detracts from the story's potency, diluting the suspense and mystery meticulously built throughout.
Nevertheless, 'One by One' remains an electrifying psychological thriller that captivates from start to finish. Freida McFadden really knows how to write her thriller novels.

This is my second book by Freida McFadden and it so far is my favorite!
Claire Machett her husband Noah and her college best friends head out on the road for desperately needed week away from the everyday struggles of life. Claire is a working mother of two and the mundane life of taking care of her kids in a loveless marriage is just too much to handle and she can't wait for this trip. Before Claire even drops her kids off her daughter is already putting doubts in her head that maybe she shouldn't take this trip. From that moment on, it is one disaster after another but once they get the resort it will be worth it. That is until the car breaks down and one by one her friends are mysteriously disappearing....who can she trust? Will she make it out of the woods alive?

I really wanted to like this book more than I did. The storytelling was good, the premise was decent, and the twist at the end was good, but this book was still kind of a drag for me to read because I didn’t like any of the characters. I actually don’t mind if there are some unlikeable characters in a book, and I definitely prefer flawed characters over “perfect” ones but I really couldn’t find anything to make me sympathetic to any of the characters in this book and it kind of ruined the read for me. All in all, I probably wouldn’t recommend this book to anyone, although I would still recommend the author.

One By One is the best kind of thriller! It will keep you on your toes until the very end! Freida McFadden always delivers unpredictable twists and keeps you hanging on until the very end! Claire, her husband, Noah, and a few of their friends are taking an adult trip, but everyone has secrets and nothing is as it seems! I could not put his book down and devoured it! I’m always excited to read another Freida book! Thank you to Freida McFadden, Poisoned Pen Press and NetGalley for allowing me to read this book prior to publishing.

Freda is sooo unpredictable. I love her writing. I was guessing so much about who the anonymous writer was but I never thought it was who it was 😆

I had high hopes for this book, as I do for all of Frieda McFadden's books. This one, unfortunately, missed the mark for me. The turn of events which results in the group being lost in the woods is preposterous, and it went downhill from there.

Another great book by Freida McFadden. This one kept me guessing which way the story was going to go. I definitely did not see the twist coming! Thanks NetGalley for letting me enjoy this book.

Freida McFadden is one of my auto buy authors. I LOVED this book. It had me hooked right away, as do all of her books, and it kept my attention until the end. This is a great book that I will be suggesting to many friends and family members because it is just that good!

I absolutely love Frieda McFadden. I swear this girl can do know wrong. My love for her started with The Locked Door and had me hooked with The Housemaid series. This book was no different from her others by grabbing me from start to finish. I was on the edge of my seat waiting to see what twists she had planned for me and I WASN'T disappointed. I felt like this was a well written book with character depth. I found this to be a fast paced thriller and didn't want to put it down. I would HIGHLY recommend this book and her others.

Wow, I did not fully expect that ending! But I feel like I need to know more about what's going to happen now to our main characters! This book had me on edge needing to know what was going to happen next, and kept me turning the pages over and over. My only dislike was that the ending seemed a little bit rushed but that is probably just a me issue not a book issue. Overall I really enjoyed this book, the characters were well developed and had a great back story. We didn't get much world building but they spent pretty much the entire time in one place so no shock there. This book will make me question going into the woods camping with anyone in the future.

I had the pleasure of reading One by One as I’m a fan of Freida McFadden’s previous books. The characters had their own secrets and motivations, adding depth to the plot. Overall, I highly recommend this book to anyone who loves a thrilling ride filled with suspense, mystery, and unexpected surprises. It's a must-read for fans of the genre!

I love Freida Mcfaden. This book did not disappoint! The twists and turns, the characters were all perfection. It had me on the edge of my seat. I loved the build up!
