This book was hard for me to get into at first but I got there. The only reason it was not a 5 star for me is because I felt like the storyline dragged a bit too long. The last 25% of the book was very suspenseful and I did not see the ending coming at all. This book will have you questioning all your friendships and relationships. Freida has done it again!

Another great thriller by Freida! Fast paced and gripping, kept you guessing the entire time with a “who done it” vibe. It had a good premise and twists through out, 3 stars!

It is a good read, but don't expect nothing to different in the plot. The beginning is very slow, then around the middle part it gets a little faster and more interesting. I enjoyed the Anonimous parts a lot. The revealing at the end did surprise me to be honest, but i wish it was made in a little more "dramatic" way. Get into the character's personality a little more and really to feel the "why this is happenind".

One by One is a psychological thriller about 3 couples heading on a vacation in the woods.
Claire, is trapped. Her husband has become a complete stranger. She’s overwhelmed with the daily demands of being a mom. A week of hikes and jacuzzi tubs what could be more relaxing?
But when their van breaks down unexpectedly, leaving them stranded with no cell phone reception, their only option is to hike back to civilization.
However, one by one something tragic happens to each of them. Until only one of them is left.

I absolutely love Freida McFaddens thrillers. They captivate you from the first line and you cannot put them down, this one was no different!
I enjoyed how it was two different voices, Claire’s and an anonymous person.
In true Freida fashion, the book had so many different twists and turns that just when I thought I had it figured out something happened and I was completely thrown off again.

While there was some expletive language, it wasn’t much and there was only 1 “romantic” moment between a married couple.

Overall, if you love a good thriller that will keep you up all night I would highly recommend this one!

Thank you to NetGalley for the opportunity to review this book!

Honestly Frida, you can do no wrong. Everything you do is always 100% amazing. You have me on the edge of my seat can’t put it down every time. This is no different. Who doesn’t love a good friends go to a cabin and one by one the group gets smaller as things get revealed. I’m always shocked by the end I never saw coming. I love a good mystery from Frida to cleanse my fantasy pallet and this was perfect!

Freida did it again... of course!!! In this book, Claire Matchett and her husband go on a well needed trip. A week of hiking and hot tubbing with friends at a luxurious hotel in the woods, disconnected from the pressures of real life, that sounded amazing to her. Claire's minivan breaks down on a road in the middle of nowhere. With no reception on anyone's phones, the group had to walk the rest of the way to the hotel. The forest is dark and difficult to navigate causing them all to get lost. As they venture deeper into the woods, they start disappearing one by one. Are they being hunted? Also, by what or who?! I would recommend if you like psychological thrillers, murder thrillers, and suspenseful thrillers! Thank you to Freida Mcfadden & Poisoned Pen Press for this ARC of One by One! Cannot wait to read her next book!

Modern day “And then there were none vibes”! Grabbed my attention right away and I was eager to unravel who our “ anonymous” POV was. Naturally with Freida’s books, I suspect everyone at some point, but there was still some shock factor and of course it was tied up nicely with a one, two twist punch!

Typical of a Freida book, I did not see the end twist coming. A quick and easy read that kept me entertained the whole time. As in most fiction there were a couple parts that were a little far fetched, but still thoroughly enjoyed.

This the first Freida McFadden book I've read. Wow.
I was fully invested and glued to this book.
I thought I knew who was leading them in the wrong direction. Get a few pages past and now I am questioning my guesses.
Can Noah and Claire save their marriage on top of all the craziness?
I really enjoyed this book and planned on reading more from her.

Freida McFadden has done it again with this twisty thriller. Just when you think you have it figured out, you’re completely wrong! It’s definitely a page turner that will keep you guessing who the antagonist is until the very end. Don’t read this if you’re planning a camping or hiking trip anytime soon to a new-to-you location with friends or family members.

2.5 stars

Freida McFadden gives us the story of Claire, who is unhappily married to Noah. The couple are going for a long weekend with two other couples, some of them college friends. On the way to their remote location, Claire’s car breaks down, and the group is forced to hike through the woods to find the inn. One by one, most of the group ends up dead. Who, or what, is taking everyone out?

This was an extremely easy and quick read. However, I did not find it to be very engaging. I wasn’t fully sure about who the murderer was, but frankly, I didn’t care. Most everyone in the book was very unlikable.

Thank you so much to @poisonedpenpress & NetGalley for the book..

This book follows several couples who travel into the woods to stay for a short vacation. Noah and Claire have been fighting a lot, so right off the bat there is lots of reasons to point to drama and motive.
One by one people keep disappearing and we are left trying to put together before the end of the book who’s picking them off.

I personally thought this was funny, and I know that makes no sense for a thriller. Normally I’d probably rate it a 2 star because it was very cheesy and unbelievable. It literally was like an old scary movie and very outdated ideas. However, because I thought it was so funny, I ended up being entertained regardless of the cheesiness, and I was hooked to be honest.
Overall I’d recommend reading this for the simple fact it was quick, entertaining, and nostalgic for me.

read this one all in one afternoon- one think I can count on with any of freida's books is a great twist at the end. and this lived up to that! I thought it was going to be either jack or michelle, because warner seemed too obvious. I never expected lindsey to have been the anonymous thoughts!! and SO smart trying to frame it to be noah in claire's mind after getting home.

The Queen of popcorn thrillers strikes again! If she writes it, I’m gonna read it! Fast paced, easy to read, unputdownable!

A group of six friends leave for a vacation at a cabin in the woods. Everyone’s demeanor is completely different than the others regarding this trip. Claire’s daughter begged her not to go since she had a nightmare that a monster was going to eat her. Knowing how silly that is, Claire still goes but they never made it to the cabin and now Claire is regretting leaving her children. Her minivan breaks down in the woods on the way there. With very little water or snacks, they decided to walk and follow the map to their destination. Unfortunately, bad things start happening and possibly only of them will make it home alive if they ever find their way out without cell phone service or before their phone battery drains down. Who will it be that lives and who will die!

Freida McFadden had me hooked in the book that it was hard to put down. I could picture every part of the story but my conclusion was not what I had expected!!!

Now in paperback! Finished this in one day! This is the ultimate revenge story. Three couples embark on what should be a dream vacation: secluded inn set in the woods, hiking, soaking in a hot tub. Claire has been looking forward to this kid free week for ages, but now that they are finally on the road, they seem to run into nothing but trouble. Her husband starts a fight with her in the car, embarrassing her in front of her friends just before her car breaks down on a secluded road just miles from the inn. They can walk, right? This is when things really start to go south As minutes turn to hours then to days they begin to question the real reason they are in the woods as they start to see mysterious claw marks, and Claire hears howls. Are they going in circles? Are they being hunted? One by one each of the characters is targeted. Who will be the last one left alive? Flew right through this one! My favorite part was the anonymous narrator that is sprinkled in sporadically. This character will have you guessing and second-guessing who they are right until the very end. Thank you to @netgalley and @poisonedpenpress for the e-arc!

I really do enjoy Frida McFadden. Her books are filled with lots of twists that I never see coming. However, this wasn’t one of my favorites from her. The story follows three couples who are going away for vacation. On the way there, their van breaks down and they decide to look for their hotel on foot. Instead, they end up getting lost in the woods. Then one by one the characters start dying. I kept changing my mind on who the killer may be and I did not see the end coming at all! However, I didn’t really like any of the characters, a few things didn’t make sense to me, and there were a few holes in the plot. But all in all, this was a fun ride that I finished in less than 24 hours. Thanks to NetGalley and Poisoned Pen Press for a copy of this book.

I have read a couple of books by this author and have enjoyed them all so far.
Fast-paced, different POVs and unreliable characters with many twists and turns along the way. I got immersed into the story and was pretty hard to put down. I would have loved for a little more explanation to be given but regardless it was a solid read.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5
