Okay, okay, hear me out. 🙈
I LOVED this ride. It was very much vintage, horror film. 📺
Very much “don’t go in the closet, even though I know you’re going to open the door anyway.” 🙈
There were lots of unlikeable characters, and I truly had no clue what this twist was going to be. I was
Which is where my issues come in, and these are spoilers, so proceed with caution.

The overall twist was based off mental illness. Ick. The killer had a history of mental illness that continued throughout the book.
The killer had no ‘real’ reason to kill all of these people, only the fact, they struggled with mental disorders and impulses.
I didn’t like riding that camel’s back.
Overall, fun ride, but I didn’t like the crutch of using mental illness as our twist. Do with that what you will. 😋

This book was very fast paced and gripping just like everything else I’ve previously read by McFadden. I managed to get through this in a few hours and thoroughly enjoyed it. I did not expect any of the twists and was shocked by the ending. Will definitely be recommending to my thriller loving friends.

One by One is a gripping thriller that is fast paced and easy to read. I could not stop reading and was captivated from the beginning. This story has domestic and friendship tribulations all tied in with survival while being truly lost in the woods. The twists start from the beginning and carry out all the way to the very end. This book has it all. I really enjoyed the addition of "Anonymous " which added a layer of depth to the entire plot. The twists and turns were creative and unpredictable.

Freida McFadden’s One By One is a great book! It is a book that is full of suspense, and shocking and surprising twist from the beginning until the very end. It will keep you guessing until the end too. I am looking forward to reading more of Freida’s books! Thank you to Netgalley and Poisoned Pen Press for giving me the opportunity to receive a ARC of this book to read and review.

One by One is a fun, easy to read thriller from best selling author, Frieda McFadden. This is one of her best giving all the Agatha Christie vibes, perfect for fans of Ruth Ware and similar authors. I finished this in one setting as I couldn’t put it down. Frieda’s books are easy to read, and great fun for mystery fans. This one has survivalist elements with our main characters lost after a car breakdown. I saw some review says that the main character’s focus on her unhappy marriage made her annoying, but I didn’t find this at all. I felt like I really got to know her as a character, her motivations, worries and that made me invested in her outcome and survival. While this wasn’t my favorite twist from a Frieda book it was still enjoyable and a satisfying conclusion. I’ve read nearly all of her books now and will continue to be a fan for a long time to come.

I am absolutely in love with Freida McFadden. At this point she could write me a lengthy grocery list and I would eat it up. Her writing style is fast paced, twisty, surprises around ever turn and just when you think you’ve got it figured out, the hammer crashes down and you are shocked beyond belief.
I loved this novel. I was scared, I was hooked, I couldn’t put it down - which is everything I want in a book.
5 stars all around, no questions asked.

What a great book! It was a quick read and I couldn't get enough. I was on the edge of my seat since page 1. I loved all the plot twists! I definitely recommend this book for any thriller lovers.

Wow, this was a great thriller! I love stories that keep me on my toes, I didn’t pick up on the twists in this! Another great Frida novel!

I finally understand the hype of Frieda McFadden. The twist in this had my jaw on the floor. The idea of one of the povs being anonymous made this such an interesting read. 4.5

Frieda McFadden always provides a great story with tons of twists and turns. one by One was no different! There’s likable characters, untrustworthy characters, twists, turns, and everything else that has you second guessing yourself while reading. This one is definitely a page turner and a GREAT book club choice since there’s SO much up for discussion!

This was a fast-paced thriller that was hard to put down. It grabbed my attention from the beginning and I devoured it in a day. The characters were unique and interesting, but there wasn’t enough time to get to know them to feel too much emotion when they began to die. It was difficult to know who to trust.
Thank you to #NetGalley for an eARC of #OnebyOne by #FreidaMcFadden in exchange for honest feedback.

Are you kidding me Ms. Freida?! Another jaw dropping thriller that I could not put down!
3 couples are traveling together to spend a week at a remote Inn but while they’re on their way, the car breaks down and now they’re stranded in the wilderness having to work together to navigate the forest to find their hotel but something sinister is at play and one-by-one, they are being struck down.
I loved how each couple was dealing with their own drama and how it was incorporated into the story to make you question who could be capable of murder and who was innocent. Not one single character was innocent in this so while I thought I had this figured out by the end, I was shocked when I turned out to be wrong. Which typically happens with all of Freida’s books and her crazy twists.
You cannot go wrong with this author if you’re looking for a fun and easy thriller read.

Another devourable read by Freida McFadden! This is my third book of hers and what I've discovered is that while her books are very trope heavy and don't contain anything that really blows me away, they're solid stories that are highly entertaining! This was an interesting tale with some very twisted characters and I had a great time reading it.
If this had been a bit longer and had a little more work put into the worldbuilding and making it more of an unsettling vibe, it would have been a 5 star!

Frieda does it again! This was a fantastic read that left me guessing until the end. I could not put it down.

Freida McFadden can always be counted on for quick, easy reads and this one was no different. Three couples are travelling in a van to a vacation inn. The van breaks down and the group is forced to walk through the woods to find help. Secrets come out, bodies start dropping and we get to guess whodunnit and why and who will be left standing at the end. There are a few decent twists even though I was pretty sure the culprit wasn't going to be the obvious choice. My favorite part was when "Anonymous" tells his/her point of view. Yes, the characters are all pretty much the stock characters found in most of these sorts of stories, and mostly unlikeable, but I still had a good time and that's all that matters! This was my second Freida book, and I will be reading more.
Thank you to #NetGalley, Freida McFadden and Poisoned Pen Press for this ARC. All opinions are my own.

Overall, I enjoyed this book. I liked the relatable characters and the many twists and turns kept me engaged. However, the ending was too abrupt for me. There were just too many unanswered questions lingering at the end. Or, did I miss something? (Spoiler alert) I reread the last chapter twice and still cannot figure out how Rhett was the culprit.

So, did not love this one as much as the other two I've read by this author. Group of people lost in the woods getting picked off one by one. It was decent but none of the characters are likable and even though I did not completely figure out the twist until it happened, you could definitely tell it wasn't going to be who it was so obviously pointing towards. Pick it up for a quick read and if you've liked her previous books.

Freida McFadden is the queen of all things thriller!! The suspense and jaw dropping moments had me reading in one setting. This is why I love her books so much!

Another great book from Freida! I finished it in less than 24 hours because I was so obsessed with the story. Especially with the twist endings we all know and love.

This was my first book from the author and I’ll definitely be reading more.
When it started I thought it might be more domestic and less in the thrills. Our main character is in a somewhat failing marriage and isn’t sure a vacation away will help fix it or put the nail in the coffin. 3 couples, a broke down minivan, and lots of secrets enter the woods to their getaway. Not all of them make it out. I thought the secrets and twists were well done. And the little bit at the end was great! Those who made it home won’t be the same and there will always be questions.
Thank you to Poisoned Pen Press for the opportunity to read.
