One By One is a physiological thriller by a New York Best Selling Author Freida McFadden that keeps you on your toes until the very end.
This is an intense drama of six friends going on a cabin trip for a vacation. Claire has been struggling with her marriage and this was her chance to repair her damaged marriage.
Once the minivan breaks down out of the blue on a dirt road with no cellphone reception the trip took a turn. One by one the friends started disappearing.
Who is responsible for the mishaps of the trip? Will Claire make it home alive to see her kids again?
This book will have you hooked from the beginning and guessing the whole way.

McFadden is re-releasing her novel One By One and if you haven’t read this thriller yet, you need to! This is a classic spin of Agatha Christie’s “And Then There Were None”.
The main character Claire is traveling with her husband and their friends for a relaxing vacation. That is until Claire’s van breaks down and the group is forced to walk to their destination. Suddenly, one by one, our characters are murdered and a classic tale of who-dun-it emerges!
This is a fun, twisty, psychological thriller page turner you won’t want to to put down!

Be careful when you're lost in the woods with your "friends"! This is a good thriller with a diverse group of characters and a couple of twists I didn't see coming!
Thank you, NetGalley, and the publisher for access to this e-ARC.

Thriling up til the end.
Expecting more
of a shock but then..
..well...read it &
you'll see what I mean. muahhaahhhh!
I gave it 3.5 stars

I’ve read a few of Freida McFadden’s books and I have come to expect an unexpected twist. Which just means I suspect everyone from the beginning. This is a lost-in-the-woods thriller where relationships aren’t what they seem to be. Claire and her husband Noah are barely holding their marriage together and this trip to a secluded inn will either make or break their relationship.
While I was entertained reading this book, it wasn’t a heart pounding thriller. The twists were a bit more complicated and far fetched than would be plausible but I still had a good time.

Freida McFadden is a great thriller writer. She can make the most of any story! Going into this book, I knew the “stranded in the woods” angle was a difficult storyline for me to mentally engage in. However, I am always interested to see what this author has to say…
Favorite quote “Two people can’t keep a secret… not unless one of them is dead.”
This is a good, quick read. Though it wasn’t my very favorite FM novel, it served a purpose :)
Special thanks to the Publisher and Netgalley for the amazing digital review copy in exchange for an honest review.

I thought I had this one all figured out, but Freida McFadden surprised me again. When Claire Matchett decides to go on a 6 day getaway with her hubby and 2 other couples, she isn't prepare for what awaits them. Not only do they get lost in the woods, but something or someone is hunting them!!
What was meant to be a getaway to relax and recharge ends of being a fight for her life and marriage. There are a lot of twists and turns and just when you think you've solved the mystery, there is another twist. Great read if you are looking for a good thriller.

I received an early copy of this book from NetGalley. Definitely different from her other works! I liked it because it had a super-fast paced and I couldn’t put it down. Finished it in two days!
The twists in the story were good, I did not see the ending coming and like always, I could not guess the end and the epilogue was crazy good.
Overall, I loved this book, and I am a big Frieda fan. I will read everything that she writes and this one was definitely a must read.
Big thanks to NetGalley, Poisoned Pen Press, and Freida McFadden for giving me the chance to read this book in exchange for an honest review.

I really enjoyed One by One by Freida McFadden. The main character was well-developed and I loved the backstory of the characters’ relationships. As usual, I thought I knew what was going on, but was proven wrong in the end. I have no complaints about this book! It was a very fast read and I could not put this one down. Thank you to Net Galley and the publisher for the advanced copy of this book. All opinions are my own.

Freida McFadden has done it again with another thriller that will keep you on the edge of your seat. When a group of young adult friends go on a much needed remote vacation together, things turn grim. The group does not arrive as planned, and one by one, they each begin to disappear. As the suspense builds, the trust among the survivor dwindles. Who is to blame? Is one of them the killer?
If you love a good thriller, and have enjoyed Frieda McFadden's other books, you will enjoy this one, as well. Thank you NetGalley for an after release of this book in exchange for my honest review.

Thank you so much @PoisonedPenPress for giving me this ARC in exchange for my honest and unbiased review (Release Date | 02 April 2024)
SYNOPSIS | Claire, her husband and two other couples book a week-long vacation together at a resort in the wilderness. On the way there, Claire's minivan breaks down and with no cell reception and no one else in sight, they set off on foot hoping to reach the resort by nightfall.
WHAT I LIKED:
- did not guess the ending! (although I wasn't a fan of the overly dramatic motive)
- how each chapter slowly gives you a little bit more information
- super fast paced with short snappy chapters
WHAT I DIDN'T LIKE:
- a handful of specific details were repeated ad nauseam
- all of the characters were pretty unlikeable & I found myself not really rooting for anyone to make it out of the woods alive
- I couldn't imagine the actual woods very well (where they walking on a dirt road where the car broke down or through the woods themselves?)
- the killers motive was a bit left field...

I could not put this book down! I loved this book and am a big Frieda fan. I was on the edge of my seat most of the book wondering how the story would turn out. Highly recommend

Thank you Netgallery for the chance to read this!
I have read a few of her books, but don't feel this one was my favorite. The twists were good, but the setting/characters were fairly frustrating. The situation seemed more unrealistic than some of her other fiction books.
But the setting is 6 friends going to an Inn for a week. One husband/wife couple is having some issues with their marriage, which are revealed throughout the book. During this time, they break down in the woods and can't seem to make their way to the Inn, which results in a series of unexpected twists and turns. But being stuck in the middle of nowhere and not able to find any civilization for over 2 days seemed to make it drag on a little.
The end did surprise me (when you find out who did what)..and it did make you think all the way until the end!
3.5 ⭐️

Thank you to the publisher and Netgalley for a chance to read, and review this.
I've been working my way through all of Freida McFadden's thrillers, and they never disappoint. This was really fast paced, just like all the others. I kept guessing what was going to happen next, and was tricked yet again. Although I did enjoy this one just as much, it felt a little predictable at times vs her other ones. The setting was creepy, and the characters fit well. So many times you didn't know who to like, and who to hate. Characters you love to hate are awesome.
I can't wait to read what Freida puts out next. Her books may be easy, but a good easy sometimes cheesy thriller is sometimes the perfect thing. Pick her up for a good beach read.

Yet another plot twist in the story I personally didn’t see coming. McFadden writes stories to keep you engaged while also guiding you into who you believe is the person responsible for the chaos. Then BOOM nope not what you expected.
This one is a closed circle where a group of 6 start off a long week by making their way to a secluded inn. The car breaks down in the woods (surprise, surprise), and they all decide to walk the few miles to the inn, since no one’s cell phones have reception.
They’re in the woods for a few days as “one by one” they all start to die. And BOY, did I not see that twist coming. I loved reading this to see exactly “whodunnit” and never would have expected the ending. Great job McFadden for ALWAYS keeping me on my toes! 4.5star rating/5

I am a huge Freida fan so I obviously loved this book. I really like how the chapters alternated between characters with one being the anonymous killer. I enjoyed the complex relationships between the characters. That really made the story interesting for me. That being said I didn’t really love any of the characters but this isn’t a huge problem for me. The ending surprised me and I love flying through the pages to see which character would be plucked off next.
Thank you to Poisoned Pen Press and NetGalley for this arc in exchange for my review

This book is great!! I absolutely loved it. It was actually one of the first couple Freida McFadden books I had read a while ago, and since it was re-released I wanted to re-read it. I definitely recommend this book to anyone who is in a reading slump or can’t find a good little thriller, this is the one!

My 2nd book from Freida McFadden and I'm having goosebumps! At first, I thought that Noah was "Anynomous". But dang, I'm wrong! And don't get me atrated with the plot twist at the end. My jaw dropped! Thrilling and surprising book.

What a ride!
From the beginning the story pulls you in. There is character development and scene setting, but the plot is right there waiting to be explored right off the bat. The pace was perfection and the speed up toward the end was just right leading to the twist that blew my socks off.
I really enjoyed the fact that there were Claire chapters and Anonymous chapters, it really made the story layered and kept me on the edge of my seat. I was constantly speaking out loud while reading, not able to contain myself. Couldn’t put it down.
Definitely a must read if you're a fan of thriller Mysteries with the twist of the century at the end of it all.

Have down Big Fre has done it again geeeeessssshhhhhh. She never cease to amaze me when her stories it’s always a twist somewhere
