Oh my godddd!!! Ms. Freida did it again! I loved this book so much! It was faced, packed with plot twists! This was so much fun to read and I was immediately hooked from the very first page. If you are a thriller/mystery bookish fan or just like Freida’s books in general then you definitely need to check this one out, you’re gonna love this one. You won’t regret it! Highly, highly recommend this!

if you've read any of Freida McFadden's works, then you know the reading experience is a rollercoaster of thrill, shock, mystery and surprising revelations. if you haven't, then best believe this book will give you the McFadden experience. she will have you guessing, second guess, and wondering the who, what, where, when, and why's up until the last page.
i genuinely could not put this book down that i could not sleep. i had to know who "Anonymous" was. even when i thought i had an idea who was behind everything, i was left with my jaw on the floor once the k!ller was revealed. the ending in any Freida McFadden book, is almost never what you expect... and we love her for it.
thank you to NetGalley for allowing me the opportunity to read this book. i received this as an ARC and leave this review voluntarily.

Good read! I did feel like the middle was a bit repetitive, but overall I really enjoyed it! I thought I had figured out the twist but boy was I wrong!

Six friends embark on a trip, their hearts set on enjoying a cozy inn nestled deep within the woods. However, fate takes an unexpected turn when their minivan breaks down before they reach their destination, and they decided to continue on foot.
As hours pass by, the friends fall victim (one by one) to an unseen menace. Is it wild animals? Or perhaps something more sinister? The truth remains shrouded in mystery until the very end.
With each twist and turn, the story keeps you on the edge of your seat. Your assumptions will be challenged, and your mind will race to uncover the elusive culprit. The gripping tale is a must-read for anyone seeking suspense and intrigue from the very beginning until the final revelation.

One By One by Frieda McFadden is the second book I’ve delved into from this author. While it provided a somewhat satisfying and brisk read, there were notable drawbacks. The narrative's excessive repetition, particularly with character traits and scenarios, became a bit tiresome. Furthermore, the decision-making of the characters seemed questionable at times, making it hard to fully believe their actions. The unexpected plot twist, while a surprise, lacked a convincing motive, leaving me somewhat dissatisfied. Despite its shortcomings, I would rate this book a 3.5 out of 5."

This book was so fast paced and fun!!! 6 “friends” get lost in the woods with nothing but each other, until they go missing one by one. I suspected almost every main character but I was NOT expecting the plot twist. The beginning and middle had me hooked, but you will have to suspend all disbelief to get past the ending. The last 50 pages felt rushed and incomplete compared to the rest of the book. I will continue to binge all Freida McFadden books though. Thanks to NetGalley for an arc of One by One in exchange for an honest review 🫶🏻

Frieda McFadden is becoming one of my top authors to read. Every book keeps you guessing up until the very end and this one is no different.
Six friends start out on what's supposed to be a relaxing week away but quickly starts out very wrong and keeps going.. Lots of twists and turns ask the way through.
Thank you Netgalley for the chance to read this book in return for my honest review.

I read this is less than 3 hours! It is a very quick read about a group of couples on their way to a mountain inn to spend the week. And then things go very awry as one by one they are knocked off. Something dark and dangerous was in those woods, but is it nature or themselves?

In One by one six friend are going on a vacation together. Their plans take different a turn when their car breaks down in the middle of nowhere. Stranded in the woods, each of them begins to die or disappear one by one.
The story consists of two points of views. One storyline follows Claire who is stuck in her marriage and is keeping secrets from her husband. The other storyline follows a charters with the name anonymous.
The main question during the story is who is the one reopenable for hunting down the group of friends and will anyone survive this trip?
I’ve read the housemaid and really loved that book. When I picked up One by one I had high hopes for the book, but unfortunately it didn’t live up to my expectations.
The characters really missed some more depth to them. They weren’t really likable and very stereotypical. The book was also very repetitive, to the point that it started to annoy me. It was like I was reading the same thing over and over again. I decided that I wanted to know how the book would end, but I found the whole plot very unbelievable.

Freida McFadden is one of my favorite authors, so I went into this book with high expectations. It definitely delivered! I will say this book felt like it started out a little slower than some of her other ones, but I don't necessarily think this was a bad thing and I was still hooked from the beginning. Once the plot picked up, it really took off with many unexpected twists that made this book hard to put down. And, like any good Freida book, there were several times when I was SO SURE I had it figured out... only to find out that I absolutely did not with one more huge twist at the end.
The characters were well-developed right from the start and easy to keep track of. And even still, my jaw dropped when the anonymous narrator was revealed at the end.
While some of the plot elements felt like a stretch and maybe not super realistic, this doesn't really bother me as I tend to value an entertaining story over a strictly realistic story. However, if you're someone who prefers a more realistic story, you may have a hard time with some parts of this one.
Overall, this book was great and I would definitely recommend it!

This was one of my favorite Freida books! I love her thrillers because they are so hard to put down and I will typically read them in one or two sittings. This one was no exception. I did not see the twist coming, which made it even better! I’ll definitely recommend this one.

I received this ebook from Netgalley in exchange for my honest opinion and review. I’m always hesitant to read stories that start out with a group of people being lost in the woods, it always feels like it falls flat to me. This story however did not. I enjoyed reading about their journey through the woods looking for the inn and I definitely didn’t see the ending coming!

I absolutely devoured this book! Is the writing world changing? No, but it is a fast paced page turner of a thriller. Plus Freida is the QUEEN of a plot twist! I never see her twists coming, even when I think I’ve figured it out, she reminds me that I do not have it figured out.
I loved this book so much. It was an easy fun read. I love that all of McFaddens books are super unique and this one creeped me out while keeping me guessing!

Ofcourse Frida could not disappoint! Another easy and such an interesting read! I couldn’t put it down! But this always happens when I ready anything by McFadden!

Fast paced and entertaining mystery thriller.
Three couples set off together in a minivan for a week at a secluded resort. Claire and Noah are married but she is super unhappy and hopes to hook up with Jack who is along with his uptight wife, Michelle. Lindsay is Claire’s best friend since college and is bringing her new beau, Warner. Things quickly go from tolerable to bad to worse. Soon they are wandering in the woods, hopelessly lost without food or water. Then, one by one, they start to die off.
I listened to the audio while also following along with the e-book and the narrative moves along briskly. The main voice is that of Claire though there is an anonymous point of view — I guessed early who it was only because with this author I’ve learned to go for the most unlikely to get the big twist. To be sure, most of the characters were actually pretty unlikeable to the point that I wasn’t sure I would care who would be the last one standing. There’s a lot of repetition and some of it strained my ability to suspend disbelief that 6 grown people could get themselves into this situation. But it made for a quick and easy read as you keep guessing and turning the pages to see what happens next. No surprises for me though some might feel otherwise.
Thank you to NetGalley for the e-book ARC to read and review. I enjoy this author’s books as they aren’t long and involved. They make great beach reads. Got the audiobook from my library.

Freida McFadden is an auto-read author for me! This book was no exception. The initial premise of the book drew me in, and I definitely did not expect everything that came about. Freida really knows how to throw in twists and turns! Definitely recommend if you're a fan of Freida McFadden, or just mysteries and thrillers in general.

Not going to lie, this might be one of my favorite books by Miss Freida! This one kept me on my toes the whole time, and I couldn't figure out what the plot twist was going to be. There were several times when I thought I had it figured it out, and I was dead wrong. Definitely recommend this one!

One by one by Frieda McFadden is yet another faced paced keep u guessing thriller. Its such a quick read only took me 6hrs to read. I don't know what it is about Frieda's books but they make you read fasted.
Plot:
Claire and her husband Noah have been going through a big rough patch. They are about to call it quits, at least that's what Claire thinks. She's been having an affair with his best friend Jack. When they arrange to go on a trip to an Inn in the woods Claire, Noah, Jack his wife Michelle, Lindley (Claire's best friend) and Warner (Lindsey's new boyfriend) could not imagine they would end up lost in the woods and that something or someone is hunting them one by one.
An easy an enjoyable read, one that definitely was not a chore always a pleasure. I did love that there was not a confession at the end (always seem to contrived) and no I did not guess the ending. Kudos!
Thanks to NetGalley and PoisonedPress for a digital copy of this book.

I found One by One by Freida McFadden to be a fast-paced, quick and suspenseful read. I was hooked from the first page until the last page. The anonymous narrator added an extra layer of mystery and I didn’t figure out who it was until it was too late. The reader is told at the beginning of the story only one out of six of the characters will survive the vacation, and it made me wary of making connections with the characters, for fear that a favorite would be killed off at any moment. The ending was slightly twisted and left me wondering what the future held for those left behind. I would recommend this book to those who enjoy a quick, suspenseful story.

Thank you so much Freida McFadden and poisoned pen press for allowing me to read this book.
I have loved Freida McFadden books and this would be my 5th book of hers now. I had started to notice a formula so I was halfway correct of what was happening, but it was still unexpected.
I love how the entire book has the main plot and big secret while everyone individually has their own secrets. I don’t know much about one character but the rest were really well developed.
I will continue to read Freida McFadden’s books.
