First off Freida McFadden can do no wrong!!
I loved this book and devoured it in a day and it definitely kept me on my toes! I did not except the ending, but did feel like it was rushed.
Thank you NetGalley for sending me this book!

I enjoyed this book and it definitely picked up more and became a page turner in the second half of the book. It's a great thriller, twisting and turning and making you question everything over and over again.

An entertaining game of cat and mouse.
I’m convinced that whoever came up with the cover blurb for this book and decided to describe Claire - the book’s main narrator - as hoping to repair her marriage hasn‘t even read the first two chapters. In fact, Claire wastes no time informing the reader that she and her husband Noah - married for ten years, and parents of two - hate one another, and have for years now. Still, they decide to go on a week-long trip with two other couples - Noah‘s former roommate Jack and his wife Michelle, and Claire‘s former roommate Lindsay and her boyfriend Warner. But on their way to their luxurious inn, their shared minivan breaks down in the middle of the woods. And soon it becomes clear that the six of them might not make it out alive. But are they just fighting for survival in an unfamiliar terrain - or is there a predator in the woods, or possibly even among them?
All in all it was a quick, if not especially creative, read. Not Freida McFadden‘s best, but overall still an entertaining, sometimes thrilling whodunnit in the style of „And Then There Were None“, with some twists thrown in - some not very surprising, given the format, and some a bit more clever, especially the final two chapters. The characters, however, were very one-dimensional and flat, and so unlikeable that I only hoped Claire or her husband would survive because of their kids.

I love Freida's thrillers and this one was no exception. All the twists and turns made it into a gripping read that I wasn't able to put down. If you love psychological thrillers, then this one is perfect! Highly recommended.

I devoured this book. I was hooked in and couldn't stop reading it. This was a crazy ride and I loved it so much. Another amazing book from Freida McFadden. Highly recommend.

it was a fun book to read!! It had my heart racing for sure and I couldn’t put it down for a second. I always love Freida McFadden books because it’s easy and quick read!

I absolutely loved this book, it was so captivating!! I loved the setting and the plot twist left me shocked! It kept me on my toes the whole time.

This is one of Frieda McFadden’s best books. Full of twists and turns. I would never have guessed the ending.

Thank you Poisoned Pen Press and Netgalley for this ARC of Freida MaFadden’s One by One.
Freida McFadden is the reigning Queen of suspense and not without reason. With One by
One, Freida doesn’t disappoint…
The Blurb :
“Claire Matchett needs this trip. It will be a break from work and raising children. A chance to repair her damaged marriage. A week of hiking and hot tubbing with friends at a luxurious hotel in the woods, disconnected from the pressures of real life.
Then, on a lonely dirt road, Claire's minivan breaks down. With no cell reception, the group has no choice but to walk the rest of the way to their remote accommodation. But the forest is dark and difficult to navigate and, hours later, they are lost. Hopelessly lost.
As they venture deeper into the woods, the members of their party are struck down mysteriously, one by one. Are they being hunted? And by what—or who? As Claire's dream vacation descends into a nightmare, something becomes clear: only one of them will return home alive”.
Omg- this page turner of a book had me up all
Night, and with every page, the plot twist made me question what I believed about the characters to that point. I loved this latest offering from the author of the housemaid and Teacher and in my eyes. Freida can write no wrong.

Usually Freida McFadden books grip you straight away but this one took me a while to get into. It just fell flat for me in comparison to some of her other books and I found the big reveal and the motive behind the villains actions were just a bit mediocre.
That being said, it was a fast paced book and it’s short chapters that alternated between Claire’s POV and an ‘anonymous’ character were intriguing enough to hold my attention until the end to see how it was all going to play out. However, the overall plot line and characters were just average and it left me wanting more.
A huge thank you to @poisonedpenpress and @netgalley for this #gifted eARC in exchange for my honest review.

I swear this plot twists get better and better.
One, Freida McFadden hands down is my new favorite thriller author. She knows how to weave words like a sorceress. Two, I need to stop guessing so early in the book - this time I did guess a couple of things, but not the -big- one.
There were a couple of times I went, "Yeah, that doesn't make sense," purely because if it was my friend group and I, that scenario wouldn't have happened. That's just the battle of perspectives though.
Overall enjoyed the book. Once I read more of her work I feel like this would be a top ten.

Fast-paced thriller that will keep you guessing to the very end! I thought I had this one figured out, but boy was I wrong! An easy read with unpredictable characters!
Thank you NetGalley and Hollywood Upstairs Press for an advanced copy.

SHE DID IT AGAIN.
This is the third book I’ve read that she wrote and she continues to put me on my toes. Amazing read I read it in one day. I am excited to read all of her books and continue in my Frieda McFadden road!

Freida McFadden does twisty thrillers so good! Just when you think you have figured out her plots, she hits you with twist after twist! This is a quick read that you won't be able to put down. Claire, her husband Noah, and three of their friends go on a week long vacation. Their cr breaks down and they are left in the middle of no where with no cell reception, or food. Death, twists, betrayal...basically everything that makes a Freida McFadden book.
Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for this ARC**

Claire is stuck in a loveless marriage and is headed on a mountain vacation with her husband and two other couples. Will her marriage survive the weekend? Will her friends survive the weekend or will they all be plucked off one by one? This is the ultimate cat and mouse game. The only thing is who is the cat and who are the mice?
Claire thought this weekend would be a chance to relax and get away, even if her husband tags along. But when their car breaks down in the middle of the woods they must find their way out or be hunted by man or beast.
This is by far my favorite McFadden book from beginning to end, definitely a 5 star rating. I was craving to find out who “anonymous” was but conflicted for feeling sorry for them throughout the book. Freida’s gift for character building and making the reader question every intuition towards them is unparalleled. And as always with her books don’t skip the epilogue!
Thank you to NetGalley Poisoned Pen Press for the ARC.

This book follows the beloved classic trope, “one by one” members of our character group keep dying….but the circumstances are suspicious to say the least. And honestly, almost every character is a little suspicious. 👀 You’ll find yourself despising characters one second and then caring about them the next. But, you’ll never see the ending coming!
Overall this book is a quick, enticing thriller read! It’s not the most complex storyline, but it makes for a fun read nonetheless!

One by one-Freida McFadden
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This was a quick fast paced thriller of Freida doing what she does best. She is the queen of twists for a reason.
I loved the setting of this one and the atmosphere we’re in with these characters.
There’s something about a stuck in the woods story that just hooks me.
Not my absolute favourite book of hers but an awesome bingeable thriller nonetheless.

Freida McFadden can do no wrong.
We follow along 6 friends that took a trip to a hotel but their car broke down, so they had to walk going there but one by one (see what I did there), their group are dwindling by the second.
It literally gave off Pretty Little Liars vibes and the whole atmosphere was so eerie and creepy.
Very fast-paced and it was a bit spooky but overall the twist was good. Such a great read and still managed to capture my interest throughout the whole thing. Not the best Freida McFadden book (Never Lie is my fave), but hey, it was amazing! Such a wild ride.
I love the reveal of the plot twists. It was so unpredictable, but still I rooted for the person (IKR?). Overall, I love my reading experience and it's so good.

One by One by Freida McFadden
This was a surprisingly fun and quick read. I hated all of the characters and did not trust any of them. I was so intrigued by their relationships and the dynamic between the 6 characters. They were all dysfunctional in a variety of ways, yet hard to look away from. I was so curious as to how the book would end.
Claire, her husband, and 4 friends are all heading to the mountains for a weekend getaway. Claire hopes to relax, disconnect and fix her broken marriage. But when her car breaks down in the remote woods, they find themselves lost. Slowly, they all start to disappear. But is it something in the woods or is it a member of their party. Will anyone survive?
Thank you netgalley for my advanced reader copy

I received this book from Netgalley but I was interested in the book prior to requesting it.
This is my first Freida McFadden, and I enjoyed it. I found myself guessing who Anon was until the revile. Someone in the group? Someone else? The Anon it was was a great choice. The main character did seem immature in her narration, especially for a mom and teacher. There were a few issues with the relationships that still didn't quite work at the very end.
