One by One is the perfect balance of Claire’s friendship and portrayal of everyday life, mixed with smut free romance, murder, and betrayal. As she leaves her children behind and takes a short couples vaca from the mundaneness of her life with her husband and friends, we soon find out there is more to every character’s story. Told from a multi person point of view, (Claire and anonymous- an abused child) this is a psychological thriller full of deception and twists that will have you saying “just one more page” as you wait to see who will survive being lost in the woods with the barest of supplies until the book is through. Unlike some thrillers, I changed my mind on who the culprit was 3 times during reading and still couldn’t predict every twist!

I love Freida McFadden books! I just think really knows how to grip you in and make it impossible to put the book down.
I loved the fast pacing of this one and how we only had a short amount of characters and that it was in isolated setting, which is literally my favourite thing in thrillers.
I thought I knew who our anonymous was but boy was I wrong… kinda 🤐
This was such a fun and quick thriller which I finished in 2 days and happily got me out of my reading slump!
3.5/5

This is the 4th Freida mcfadden book and it certainly won't be my last. This is just as good as the previous 3 I have read.
There is something about her books that just flow and before you know it your half way through. Every chapter just keeps you wanting to read more.
I thought I had this one worked out but it turns out I had no idea. This is a must read for anyone, especially if your into a fast paced thriller that's full of twists and turns.

By far one of my favorite books from Freida. I was hooked from page one. It was fast-paced and made for the perfect read on my day off. The relationship between the characters were well written and the relationship issues were completely relatable. The plot twist was perfect. I was literally screaming at the book. I would recommend it to the readers who loves mystery/thriller genre, especially who-dun-it. This book is worth to read!

A group of friends go on a 6 day vacation at a secluded luxury inn. However, what they get is far from that. 6 leave for the trip, only one returns. They all hold secrets they don’t want anyone to know, leaving everyone with a motive.
Another great thriller from this author however a little slow to start. Will keep you guessing the whole way through.

Love this book and author! I’ve read so many of her books and can’t wait to read more! I can’t wait for her next book to release!

This author is quickly becoming a fav! I'm new to the McFadden train but I'm hooked. I don't even bother reading blurbs of her books anymore, I just read.
This one wasn't like anything I've ever experienced before, I never knew what was going to happen from one page to the next. But I can tell you, never in a millions years would I have figured this one out.
The ending left me wanting more!

I'm not gonna lie. When I started this, I thought this was where the premise for "The Teacher" came from. Noah and Claire's relationship felt so much like the marriage from The Teacher. However, once the couple met up with their friends for a fun getaway, One By One became it's own. I loved the setting of the woods and the cast fighting for survival as they disappeared by one by one. This has a GREAT twist. All of my theories proved to be wrong, but I loved that when I looked back on the novel, I could see how that twist came about. This has become one of my favorites of McFadden for sure! A big thank you to Netgalley for a digital copy!

I love a good Freida McFadden book and this one did not disappoint. It has all the twists and turns and plot twist you could want.
6 friends
6 days in the woods
6 days without cell phone reception
I loved how this book was told from 2 points of view, 1 being you had no idea who was telling it.
I really enjoyed this classic Frieda book!
Thank you NetGalley and Poisoned Pen Press for this ARC.

I was a tad disappointed in reading this book as I had huge expectations from hearing of her other works.
It was a quick fast action packed paced read and at times I felt as if I was reading a fantasy-thriller book that I just needed to finish out to see how it all played out.
I'm not giving up hope, I do plan on reading her other works.

Started off extremely entertaining and got very suspenseful after that. Loved the drama/arguments between the characters. I couldn’t figure out who did it! I could NOT put this book down and enjoyed every minute of it. As always, Freida McFadden nailed it! Did not see that ending coming. Thank you to NetGalley, publishers, and of course Freida for the ARC. She is definitely one of my favorite authors!!

A notice to the multitude of Freida McFadden fans: One By One is Freida at her frightening best. She has fine-tuned her plot twists, and I could not put this one down.
Three couples embark on a week-long trip together to a homey inn located in northern Colorado. The adventure begins with the hope of a few days in paradise but soon becomes a monstrous nightmare. Little Emma had shared her premonition, but who believes a 7-year-old?
The group is loaded in the minivan and barely out of the driveway before the tension begins to build. Next comes a series of mishaps. The van breaks down, there’s no cell service, and the compass isn’t pointing true north. The six travelers are now on foot and lost in the woods. And then one by one…
I loved this book! The twists and turns never stop. This book checked every box for this reader: short chapters. a steady, suspenseful pace, and
a slew of secrets.
Give this one all the stars—one by one!

One by One is a straightforward thriller that takes place out in the woods, with one member of the party disappearing each day. This book was full of unsurprising twists (like Lindsay being the narrator and not being dead, as we initially thought), and I ultimately thought it did an okay job and was just worth reading, so I gave it a three-star rating.

One day, I will read a Freida book and guess the twist. This was not that book. She did it again. Will be recommending!

This book was so good. Literally was of her bests. The twists were crazy and I didn’t see them. Which is saying a lot since I normally guess them before I’m half way through. Read this book!
Thank you netgalley for the arc.

Thank you to NetGalley for allowing me to read this in exchange for an honest review.
This author’s books are always a little treat. Not particularly well-written, but full of short chapters, twists, and a plot that keeps my attention. This one was about three couples who plan to stay in a cabin in the woods. Unfortunately, they don’t get that far when their car breaks down and they find themselves lost in the woods as someone (or something) picks them off one by one.

Freida Mc Fadden delivers another fast paced, page turning thriller that had me reading the entire book in just one evening!!
Three couples embark on a one week vacation to a wilderness lodge. After their minivan breaks down the group is stranded in the heavy woods and one by one (as the book title implies) one less person lives to tell the tale.
In typical Mc Fadden style, the book is written in such a way to make you think you know the plot twists but it is never quite what you think it will be. Overall this was a quick easy read that I enjoyed. As I have read many Mc Fadden books you do pick up on the diversion tactics however it does not detract from my enjoyment of the author's books.
It wasn't one of my favorite books by Mc Fadden but it still earned a 4/5 from me.
Thank you to Net Galley and Poisoned Pen Press for a digital copy of this book for review.

Freida did it again! Another book that I just couldn’t put down. Just when I thought I had everything figured out, another twist came in and proved me completely wrong. The story follows Claire, her husband and 2 other couples about to go on a couples vacation. When their van breaks down they have no choice other than to hike through the woods to the resort. The book is filled with love triangles, lies and mysteries. You will be glued to this book thinking who can Claire really trust? And who will be next?

Having read The Housemaid and Housemaids secret last year I was so excited to try this book and I was not disappointed
I read it in about 6 hours in total I was hooked from the start. The story is very fast paced and once again I didn’t expect the twists and turns, despite being SURE I knew what would happen!
I love Freidas writing style, she never adds unnecessary detail or filler and it allows the story to just flow from start to finish.
My only negative point is that it’s a little short so it lacked some character depth that would’ve allowed a bigger punch for the twists. But another great book by Frieda!
Thank you for the opportunity to read such a great book!
