Freida does it again!! Another fast paced thriller with twists I did not see coming. Basically a locked room mystery but taking place outside... to me that just intensified the options of who could've done it. Definitely will have to pass this book along to all my Freida fans!

Frieda McFadden…the queen of twisty psychological drama! For this story line to work it has to be believable and this one wasn’t. If my car breaks down in the middle of a dirt road why would I go forward and not back where I started ? And why would one think a luxury inn would be at the end of a dirt road. The characters were unlikable. It’s also annoying when a character continues NOT to listen to their gut feeling.
Thanks for net galley for allowing me to read this book in exchange for an honest review.

A great, fast paced thriller, Freida McFadden has the formula down pat. Page turning plot with interesting reveals every couple of chapters. Six friends lost in the woods, one of them is a killer.
I ran through every possible twist as I was reading, so I wasn't massively shocked at how things played out, but it was executed well so I wasn't too disappointed. Extremely enjoyable and hard to put down.
Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read and review this book.

Really really enjoyed this! Just the right length to make it a pretty short, but engaging and thrilling read!

“But as I walk back to the campsite, I can’t shake the horrible feeling that I might not make it home from this trip alive.” One by one is another creepy and terrifying thriller that hits the mark. 3 couples are heading on a trip, but how many will actually make it out alive? If you are looking for a fast-paced page-turner that will have you questioning yourself and every character, this is for you.

Another fantastic read from Freida McFadden!!
I don’t want to give too much of the story away, so I’ll leave you with an excerpt from the book: “There were 6 of us when we started. And one by one, each of us has disappeared.” If that line doesn’t have you racing to the store to buy this book, then I don’t know what will!
The plot twists in this book were insane! Just when you think one character is the villain, another plot twists drops and it has you second guessing everything you know. I can honestly say, there was no way I could’ve predicted that ending 😱

Once again, Freida McFadden had me up late into the night! Once I opened this book, I could NOT put it down. Seriously addictive and deliciously twisty.

I was pleasantly surprised with this book. Ruth Ware has a book called One by One with the same basic plot so I was expecting a similar storyline. People disappearing one by one is about the extent of the similarities. This book was a quick read but kept me coming back for more. I wanted to get to the end so I could get to the twists that I know Frieda always throws in. It was good and I'll continue to read Frieda McFadden books.

I love Frieda and all her books. This one was no exception. It was light and suspenseful. I enjoyed the characters and plot.

I am always excited to start a Freida Mcfadden book. The care she puts into this makes you feel a aprt of the world. Great for people who want to read but no much time as the chapters fly by and short makes ot easy to have a good ending place but you wont want to. Excitement thrills and twists that you won't see coming as much as you feel yiu have this ending figures out I will tell you no you don't. Remember though you never want to skip an amazing epilog.

Frieda McFadden does it again! This is a well thought out book that makes you scratch your head several times. You never know what is going to happen next and eventually you give up trying to guess, because every twist and turn makes you realize that you have no idea what to believe. I suspected just about every character at some point during this book. It was a quick, easy read and I couldn't put it down. I did not see the ending coming and I really appreciate that!
I do wish it would have been a little longer so the characters could have been developed more, or shortened to more of a novella style because it was a little repetitive at times.
Thank you very much to NetGalley and Poisoned Pen Press for providing me a copy of this ebook in return for an honest review!

One by One
By Freida McFadden
“ One by one, they will get what they deserve... A night spent sleeping on dirt and leaves is not how Claire Matchett expected to spend her vacation. She thought this would be a break from the stresses of work and raising her young children. A chance to repair her damaged marriage. A week of hiking and hot tubs with two other couple friends. It sounded like heaven.”
This was a pretty easy read like many of Freida McFadden’s books. It was not my favorite was not as thrilling as I had hoped based on the description. I did finish because I really had to know “who did it?” For me kinda repetitive.
There was a twist at the end that was a little surprising but I just didn’t find any of the characters at all likable.
It was not horrible just truly not my favorite.

Freida McFadden is always a must read when she comes out with a new book. I was so excited to see I got approved for to read One by One on NetGalley, and then I realized, I already read it! This was an enjoyable read, I love the pretense of a group of "friends" wandering the woods, lost, and someone within the group cannot be trusted and who is offing the rest of the group members. As always there is a grand twist thats unexpected! This was not one of my favorites by her, but still a great read!

One by One is about a group of (mostly) friends who embark on a trip to a fancy resort and get lost in the woods. There are two narrators: the MC and "anonymous" who is the villain, though their identity is kept secret until the end. You will be questioning everyone throughout, and even though I saw through one attempt at masking the identity of "anonymous" I still didn't guess who it was.
Lots of characters do suspicious-seeming things to keep you guessing. Of course, there are also plenty of frustratingly dumb decisions that will make you yell at your book, which is common in Freida McFadden books but somehow also adds to their charm! I did feel annoyed at the MC constantly talking about how much she hates her husband, and how much he hates her, especially when his actions showed otherwise. Their marriage issues annoyed me, and I think the rest of the plot could have happened without the whole "hating" thing.
Overall, this was a quick and mostly enjoyable read and I think anyone who enjoys Freida McFadden will eat this one right up.
Thank you NetGalley and Poisoned Pen Press for an advance copy in exchange for my review.

One by one was a good read. Definitely not the best work my this author. However worthy of reading and engaging. So what predictable at times.

My goodness, Frieda sure knows how to keep a person on the edge of their seat. This was a great read. Claire and her husband aren’t getting along, so how to fix their marriage well lets try a getaway with 4 friends and see what happens. What happens is great for the reader!

Despite the fact they now hate each other, Claire and her husband Noah, join 4 of their friends for a 4 hour car ride to spend an entire week at an Inn in the wilderness. A few miles from the Inn, Claires new mini van suddenly stalls, leaving the couples stranded on a deserted road with no cell phone service. Map and compass in hand they have no other choice then to walk the remaining few miles and hope to find the Inn before nightfall. What they don’t know is that one by one they will start disappearing, will anyone make it to the Inn, or even out of the woods alive?
Didn’t see that coming! Freida got us again with another blindside. One by One is told in dual POV, the story is mostly told by Claire, with a few chapters told by an Anonymous character that has you guessing until the very end! Aside from various repetitions throughout the book, which I don’t particularly like, the book was very well written, I thoroughly enjoy Freida’s writing style. Straight to the point, with just enough detail to make you really feel like you are there, but not too much that you want to just skim over (which I tend to do with most books). This is my 4th Freida McFadden book and I’m now hooked!
Thanks to @netgalley and @poisonedpenpress for the ARC, this one is out now!

This book took me a while to get into. The story centers around Claire who goes on a trip with her husband, and some of their best friends including the man that she's been cheating on her husband with and his wife. They end up lost in the woods and the group begins to dwindle for various reasons and you're left to find out what is going on.
Freida McFadden always seems to have a slow build up and then a few twists at the end. I did NOT suspect this ending by any means. I'm perhaps a bit of a sucker but I always end up suspecting the wrong things/people just like the author wants you to. The story here ended up being really good, it just took a while to get there (and also, the female characters were very annoying).

This book!! It was unputdownable for me! It kept my attention the entire time. I caught myself waking up in the middle of the night thinking about it and I had to pick it up and read some more haha. Just when I thought I had it all figured out, boom.. I did not! Twist and turns at every corner!! Its one of those books that keep you on the edge throughout but also has a twist at the end! 5 starts for me!

A taut and highly tension filled plot. The betrayal is shocking but I was more in awe of the terrifying atmosphere.
