This book!!! Miss Freida has yet to disappoint me!! Plot twists throughout the entire book, up until the last page! Cannot wait to get my hands on this physical book 🤭

Thank you, NetGalley, for the digital copy of One by One ahead of its paperback release.
Freida McFadden is always entertaining, and this one was an easy, fun and twisted read! A group of six friends set off for a week at a remote resort, with dreams of hot tubs, finishing, and relaxing. But some car trouble on the journey there leaves the group stranded and wandering through the woods. As they start to disappear one by one, will anyone find their way back home?

why does all the main female characters hate their husbands in every book 🤣🤣. But this book really surprised me & was fast paced as always. Frieda always makes you believe it’s everyone BUT who it really is. Interesting plot, & good story!!

I really enjoyed this book and it kept me highly engaged. I found the characters to all be interesting. Since I know none of Frieda's characters can be trusted, I wasn't rooting for the main character or any of the side characters.
I went through this book developing a full mental hypothesis on who the villan of the story was, and I was completely wrong. I greatly appreciated that this was a quick read with unpredictable outcomes.

I have never been disappointed by a Freida McFadden book but I think this is my favorite one yet! I went into this book totally blind, knowing I’ve enjoyed Freida’s book in the past, and it truthfully made the experience of reading this book that much better!
One by One was action packed and had me on the edge of my seat from the very beginning. The dynamic of the friend group was very intriguing and I could tell they all had secrets they were willing to go to great lengths for and man was I right!
Each chapter I thought I knew what was going on and who did what, but something would happen that would make my jaw drop and I was right back at square one again.
I loved having the random anonymous chapters throughout the book. It led to so much more background and insight about a character that had yet to be revealed and by the time they were, I realized who I thought it was the whole time was dead wrong.
Thank you so much Freida McFadden and @netgalley for allowing me a copy of another jaw dropping book. I seriously couldn’t put it down - not me staying up till midnight just to finish the book in one sitting.

A nice, quick, twisty read. Following a group of friends who are on a weeklong trip in the mountains. Of course, can’t be a thriller without people being picked off one by one. The story is mainly told by Claire but some chapters flash back to an anonymous narrator. The characters in this story all have secrets and none of them are super likable. Even so, I really enjoyed it.
I received a ARC of this title, all thoughts are my own.

Frieda McFadden does it again! I read this book in a day and couldn’t put it down. If you think you have one of her books figured out you don’t. Highly recommend this as well as all her books to everyone I talk to!

My first Freida McFadden book!
You know when you’re folding laundry or doing another not so fun task and you need the tv on in the background for motivation? Something you don’t necessarily have to really focus on to still be entertained? It’s easy, it’s enjoyable. You finish it and you’re like, hey that was a good time. This was the book equivalent of that for me. As someone who does this often, I love that.
•Middle of nowhere
•Everyone’s a suspect
•Fast paced
•Short intriguing chapters that kept me guessing
272 pages made this a breeze and overall I had fun reading it.
3.5/5 stars ⭐️
Thank you @poisonedpenpress for this ARC of the republication of One By One!

Genre : Psychological Thriller
Rating : 3.2/5
Three friends decide to go on a week-long trip together, each having their own motives. For Claire, it is primarily to take a break from her children and figure out if there's any scope of salvaging her marriage. But as they're about to reach the hotel, Claire's minivan breaks down. With no cell service, a broken compass and a physical map, they decide to walk the entire way to the hotel. Except, it isn't as easy as they expected it to be. The place is impossible to find, and one by one, a person continues to go missing!
This is not a concept that's being done for the first time. I have watched multiple movies (one I distinctly remember in Bollywood was 'Darna Mana Hai') and I'm sure there are other movies/books based on a similar premise. Nonetheless, it was fast-paced, and I was able to finish it in a jiffy. It had the right amount of suspense to keep me engaged and motivated to push through and was a quick, fast-paced read. The plot twist was certainly unexpected and nothing I saw coming from a mile away. But, I personally felt that the motive was just not sinister enough, even though the actions were.
Nonetheless, it was a fun and quick read that I can recommend to mystery lovers.
Thank you NetGalley for a free review copy.

Well, this was just silly. These were the dumbest characters in a book, maybe ever. I was so annoyed with all of the dumb stuff that the characters did and I was constantly rolling my eyes. I fully expected the twist, but the final twist was really good, actually. Overall, Freida McFadden's books always hold your attention, but I wish this one had been a little better written. This would have been so much better if some of the nonsensical plot points had been more developed, or just taken out entirely. I will continue to read Freida McFadden's books, but unfortunately this one was a huge miss for me.
As always, many thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for sharing this book with me in exchange for an honest review (sorry this review was too honest).

Holy twist! The blurb for this book doesn't even begin to touch on the terror! Three couples enter the woods, but it's pretty clear not all six people will survive the ordeal.
The Characters
Claire - the narrator, who is having an affair
Noah - Claire's husband, possibly soon-to-be ex-husband
Jack - Noah's roommate from college
Michelle - Jack's wife, a divorce attorney no one is fond of
Lindsey - Claire's roommate from college
Warner - a handsome plastic surgeon and Lindsey's current love interest
Anonymous - the second narrator, reciting a troubled childhood
This isn't boy scout camp, but Jack repeatedly relies on his knowledge of survival skills to help lead a group through the woods after their car breaks down. There's no GPS, so the group has to rely on a wonky printed out map that Warner supplied. The group is getting lost, they are running out of food and water, and then...accidents start to happen.
I make no apologies for being a Freida fan, and I read this book in one day.
Thanks to NetGalley for an advance reader's copy of this reissue by Poisoned Pen Press.

This was an easy read, but I expected more! The storyline often felt unrealistic, and a lot of the situations they found themselves in felt a little implausible. I found the writing to be a little repetitive, which didn’t help the lack of depth the characters had. It was like they all had their “quirks” and that was it.
All of that being said, I did not see the plot twist coming and was genuinely shocked. I did not expect that to be “annonymous”, I had pretty much considered everyone but them.
This is the second I’ve read by Freida McFadden, and so far they have both always left me feeling bad for the men lol. As a feminist, I do hope that this isn’t always the case with her books! I will definitely be reading more of her books though, as they are easy to read.
A big thank you to NetGalley, Freida McFadden and Poisoned Pen Press for an e-arc in exchange for an honest review.

I looooved it!!!!
What an addictive thriller !!!!
Such a great read !!!!!!
I was engrossed since the beginning and what a mistake to start it at night hahaha. I couldn't stop reading and didn't went to sleep until I finished hahaha and the sun was out 😂 So unhealthy but so worth it. I simply enjoyed every chapter, every twist, the plot is great, the writing is so good. It was impossible to put down.

I love all of Freida's books. They are the perfect easy reads with the best plot twist. Highly recommend this thriller. Thanks NetGalley and Poisoned Pen Press for the ARC!

This book is the very definition of unputdownable! With its steady pace and characters designed to make the reader question everyone's relationship and therefore their potential for being “Anonymous”, I found my mind whirling with each revelation.
The deeper into the story I read, the more I began to suspect each character in turn. Then I suspected my own guesses were a result of my need to find the culprit before the author revealed everything and not based on facts given to me. From one page to the next my suspicions grew then diminished but I never suspected this ending…and it completely blew me away!

Not my absolute favorite Freida, but a good ride in general. Couples and secrets and an abandoned cabin the woods. Lots of intersecting stories and plot lines.

This book had me gripped and stuck to the edge of my chair the whole time! Every time I thought I had it figured out (like I always think in Freida’s books) she threw another twist! Devoured this book in one sitting!

This book kept me guessing! I have enjoyed other books by Freida McFadden and this book was another winner.
I was hooked from the first page until the last. The twists that this book had were so good. There’s no way anyone could possibly say they knew what was going to happen.
I am looking forward to reading more titles by Freida McFadden. This is certainly a book I will recommend to others.

I really enjoyed this book! I thought I had it all figured out from the beginning, but I didn’t - I was pleasantly surprised with the twist. It reminded me a lot of “And Then There Were None.” It was well written and easy to read, I was able to finish in 24 hours.
I gave this book 4 stars for a few reasons:
1. It wasn’t exactly life-changing. Like I said above, it reminded me a lot of “And Then There Were None.”
2. It could’ve been a little more original - I feel like it’s easy to guess the storyline from very early on which some people wouldn’t like.
Overall, I really enjoyed this book! Worth the read in my opinion. Thank you, NetGalley, for providing me with a copy of this book before it was released to read and review!

I love mystery mixed with murder but this book just didn't hit the spot. Whilst I certainly didn't predict the ending, which definetly came with a twist, I found the general storyline lengthy, unrealistic and slow.
4 lifelong friends, and now with their partners, head off on a week-long remote trip to an Inn, promising a week of relaxation and recuperation. However nearing the end of their outward travel, their minibus breaks down, no telephone connection, and leaving them no choice but to walk the remaining 2 miles to their accommodation. However, no matter which way they go, they are unable to escape the woods. Spending 2 nights out in the wild, one by one the friends end up dead in go missing.
Who is the killer and what is their motive.
Give this a try....I won't be at all put off from reading further books by this author
