This book was so twisty and such a fast read! I really enjoyed that the story was told from different people. I was waiting the whole book to find out who the anonymous character was- wow. I could not put this down. It was my first book by this author and I will definitely be reading her books in the future! 5/5, will recommend this thrilling book.

This was my first Frieda McFadden book but definitely won’t be the last! The whole book was fast paced, kept my attention, and had enough twists to keep me guessing. I loved this and can’t wait to read more from her !

Wow! Talk about a plot twist I didn't see coming!

I've been a super fan of almost everything Freida McFadden writes, and this one did not disappoint. Super fast read, and because it gripped me from the beginning and because of the relative shortness of the book, I was finished within a day.

Six friends set off for a luxurious week away, but before they even get to their destination, things begin to go wrong. For about 85% of the book I was sure I knew who the unlikely perpetrator was, but boy was I wrong.

Definitely a must read for anyone who enjoys a good mystery/thriller.

Such a fast paced read like all of her books, and the twists and turns it takes!! Will always read a book by Freida McFadden!

Absolutely loved this book and the characters in it! If you want a book that keeps you guessing with a few plot twists this one is definitely for you!! It is a tried and true WHO DUN IT or Who is doing it?! The conclusion is going to have you shook! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ for me

What a book! i love every book from her, they have everything I look for in a thiller: easy and addictive and this one was NOT EXPECTION!!

This book has everything to everyone please read it!!

I didn't have high expectations for the book, but I have to say I was surprised at how much I enjoyed it. The book is not one of the most read books by this author, but I have to say that I read it in one breath.

This thriller is great for a spring/summer read. The atmosphere is really great and I found myself going through the same struggles as the main characters. I went through all these emotions with them and I just couldn’t stop reading. The book was unputdownable.

I also really liked that the book is set in the wilderness as it added even more suspense to the story. I appreciated the povs in this book, which made me guessing, who the anonymous was basically the whole time.

This is a must-read for all the thriller fans!

Wow! I started reading this book late last night and finished it early this morning. I could not put this down.

The story hits you in all the spots. Three couples go on vacation together after the daughter of one tells her mother not to go because a monster would eat them in the forest. This starts as a 100 MPH story and the reader is constantly trying to figure out who or what the monster is. Absolutely no one is what they seem.

I will be reading more books by this author in the future. Thanks for helping me discover her.

Frieda fans won't be disappointed!

This is a really quick and compelling read, I finished it in one sitting and did NOT want to put it down. As with most Frieda books, there were certain details that didn't ring true (let's just say the characters were way more patient with being lost than I would have been), but I don't read her for the accuracy. It was a fun, wild trip that had my brain working hard the whole time, trying to figure out what was happening and who was lying.

I had part of the twist figured out, but not all of it. I love when a twist still holds a surprise or two, so overall I enjoyed this as a quick, fun thriller.

This book was released a few years back but I believe it’s getting rereleased by a new publisher. I hadn’t had the chance to read it yet so I was grateful I got the opportunity to now! The title holds up perfectly for this story as it is about a group of friends with complicated relationships who get lost in the woods after their car breaks down on the way to a cabin. Nothing is what it seems and I definitely didn’t see the twist coming which I love! Get ready for unreliable narrators aplenty and a story which I won’t soon forget! I would definitely recommend to anyone into psychological thrillers and mysteries!

And she did it again!! This has such a plot twist!! It is a great psychological thriller that will keep your attention and you want to read more and more. I could not put this book down.

While the unexpected twist injected some much-needed excitement into the storyline, it wasn't enough to fully compensate for the book's shortcomings.

This is an intense thirller where three couples take a week-long trip together to a cabin in the woods. It was supposed to be fun and relaxing-but this is a thriller-we know it will be anything but!

The chapters alternate POV between Clair and Anonymous.

They break down and have to hike the remaining way to their destination. Soon, they are lost in the woods and one by one-individuals are taken out. They mysteriously go missing. Someone from the group is responsible-but who??

The twists had me gasping aloud while reading. You can never go wrong with a Freida McFadden book.

I have become such a Freida McFadden fan in such a short time. I truly have enjoyed all her books, specially The Housemaid Series!

One by One had me engaged the whole time wondering what will happen next….
There were twist after twist and the points of views of Claire’s and the other person keep you guessing until the end. I loved the aventure thriller part of it!

💭 What book release are you excited for this month?

Three couples go on a week-long trip together. It sounded like an amazing wonderful idea; but it became a deadly nightmare! The plot twist wrecked me omg! I love this book so much!I love books that will remind me of the high I got when reading Agatha Christie books and this gave it to me!

This book did not disappoint! As a Freida fan, I am always blown away by her ability to throw in a plot twist that you will never see coming! The ending of this book had my jaw on the floor and I could not get over it. The character development in this story was on point and I was left feeling totally betrayed by the end (IYKYK!) I rated this 4.5 stars out of 5 and would definitely recommend.

What a wild ride! This is the story of a group of friends who are on a week long vacation to a retreat where they can go hiking, fishing and just relax and get away from the stresses of life. But things do not go according to plan. When the car breaks down a couple miles from their destination and they have to find their way to the resort on foot in the middle of a forest, they think that's the worst of their problems. Until people start dropping light flies. This book had me guessing the entire time. Every chapter I thought I figured it out and then I wrong again and again. I never saw the ending coming. This is my first Freida McFadden book and it will definitely not be my last. Such a great book!

Happy Pub Day! I was super excited to be able to read this in exchange for an honest review. I knew it wouldn't be hard, Freida is one of my favorite authors!
I went into this book blind and loved every single minute of it. I read this in under 12 hours because I was HOOKED. I was utterly shocked at the twist and who was at fault for all the mayhem. I loved the anonymous chapters; I was dying to learn who exactly it was all along. I would easily recommend this to anyone looking for a fast-paced twisty thriller.

Freida can always write a book that keeps me so invested in trying to figure the story out, that’s it’s a MUST that I read it entirely in one day.

And she has done it again with this story.

I was literally wracking my brain trying to figure out who this anonymous person was throughout the entire story. I was completely thrown off to find out who it was and the plot twist and turns were really hard to figure out in the story. Which of course makes for a great adventure.

I was shocked at the ending, literally shocked! And never wouod have guessed the gender of the anonymous person to be what they were.

Several times I thought I had it figured out and then she would throw another wrench. This is what truly makes her such an incredible author! Well done!

She is the queen of what she does and can’t recommend this book enough.
