First I'll say, Freida McFadden is absolutely one of my top favourite authors, and a definite auto-buy for me. One by One is an older title, now being re-released.
One by One isn't one of my favourite our of all of Freida's books, but it's still a fun, entertaining read, with her signature mind-blowing plot twists. You really can't go wrong with a Freida McFadden book!!

I was not as impressed with this as other Frieda novels. I definitely did enjoy it, but I think parts of it were a little redundant and repetitive.

Claire and her husband hate each other, yet they are going to a secluded Inn in Colorado for a week with their friends. Jack and his wife Michelle aren't precisely the ideal couple ever, but with her being the number one divorce lawyer in the state, he would be stupid to complain or leave. Lindsay is so happy she finally met the man of her dreams, Warner, but Claire isn't sure he is as perfect as Lindsay believes. When their minivan breaks down in the middle of the woods, the group has no choice but to set out on foot with limited supplies to find the inn. Unfortunately, strange things begin to happen, and the group's size dwindles. Who or what is hunting them?
Freida McFadden has done it again! This psychological thriller has murder, intrigue, romance, mystery, and more! A real who-done-it! The reader gets a real Agatha Christie, And Then There Were None feel while reading this book. I found myself guessing and failing to see the culprit until the end. Perfect for readers who love a good mystery or psychological thriller.
Disclaimer: While I received a free advanced reader copy of this novel, the thoughts and opinions expressed above are solely my own.

Freida has delivered yet another twisty thriller! This one was alot of fun to read, and like always I did not see that plot twist coming

I absolutely LOVE any Freida McFadden book! This one did not disappoint. I love all the twists and turns and unpredictability that comes with each book she writes. I always think I have it figured out then BAM it’s not anything close to what I thought. If you love thriller and never knowing who did it right until the end these books are for you! I cannot wait to read the next book!

I wanted to love this book, but only liked it. It’s the story of 6 friends who go on a trip together and get lost in the woods and one by one they start to die/disappear. The book kept my attention and I HAD to keep reading because I knew the author had a twist coming, which is my favorite thing about Frieda McFadden’s books. The twist didn’t disappoint and the overall storyline was good, but something was off for me. The characters were kind of dumb. Getting lost in the woods for 2 days? After your friend dies you just leave them and keep going? It was a good quick read with some suspense but not the best Freida book ever. Still a big Freida McFadden fan and will always read her books. Thanks to NetGalley for the copy.

Very enjoyable and easy to binge. It kept me guessing the entire time with its twists and turns! I enjoyed the pace of the book and the ending really shocked me. Definitely recommend for a quick read that will have you invested in the outcome!

Want to start off by saying thank you for allowing me to be an arc reader! This was hands down one of my favorite Freida books! Did not expect the end at all! I love how you can become so connected with her characters. I reas this so fast!

I received One by One as an ARC for honest feedback. Like most Freida McFadden books, this was fast paced and an easy read. The story follows six characters who are going on a weeklong getaway. You find out right away that people are not going to make it back. The book was mostly narrated by Claire, one of the six characters on the trip. There were some chapters that were told by "anonymous" that were interspersed throughout the book. The anonymous chapters were flashbacks to a character's life and you have to figure out who it is. The last time that person speaks you find out who it is for sure. There were minimal twists in this book and some of them seemed really far fetched. While an easy read, I did not find myself connecting to the characters or the story. I probably won't think about this book again.

Another amazing book by Freida McFadden! I couldn’t put this book down because I needed to know what was happening and I never expected the twist at the end.

I’m a big fan of Freida, however this one didn’t grab me as well as some of her other work.
It’s a group of friends that get lost in the woods, and one by one they go missing.
The twist at the end I didn’t expect which is what I love about Freida’s work.
However the majority of the story before the ending I found quite slow and I found myself skim reading.

I think I’m done with Frieda. She certainly has a formula. Her plots are all pretty obvious but she’ll throw in one ridiculous twist that you’d never see coming, and the stories only ever work because she makes her main characters too stupid to figure anything out.
I really don’t get all the hype; sure, she writes short punchy chapters and you fly through the book, but there are so many authors who do the same thing but so much better.
Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

"One By One" by Freida McFadden is an easy-to-read thriller that keeps readers engaged throughout. However, it veers into somewhat far-fetched territory, which may not appeal to all readers, especially those who aren't fans of the "lost in the wilderness" genre.
One of the intriguing aspects of the book is the anonymous point of view, which adds an element of mystery and keeps readers guessing about the identity of the narrator. This narrative choice adds depth to the story and enhances the overall reading experience.
While "One By One" may not be a standout favorite for some readers, it's not without its merits. Despite its flaws, it offers an entertaining escape into a suspenseful world, making it a decent choice for those looking for a quick and engaging read.

(Contains spoilers). Having thoroughly enjoyed Freida McFadden's books, diving into "One by One" was met with great anticipation. However, this instalment fell short of expectations, and was mediocre at best.
The plot, though promising on the surface, quickly unravels into a web of unrealistic scenarios and nonsensical occurrences. Characters behave in ways that strain credulity (like not being remarkably phased by the death of their friend), and the overall narrative lacks the depth and coherence found in McFadden's other novels.
Despite its shortcomings, "One by One" does manage to salvage some merit with a surprising twist regarding the person behind the unfolding events. This revelation injects a brief moment of intrigue into an otherwise lackluster storyline.
In conclusion, while McFadden's writing style remains engaging, "One by One" fails to deliver the same caliber of suspense and satisfaction as her other books. It's a disappointing entry into the author's repertoire, and I was left longing for the captivating storytelling I’d come to expect.

This book’s suspense had me on the edge. I was reading through it, trying to figure out every angle. Of course, I was wrong and a shocking revelation that occurs in every one of Freida’s books got to me. I was totally not expecting that twist. This is a must-read suspense. Lost in the wood murder mystery vibe. Another great book by this author !

vacation gone wrong!
Three couples plan a week long trip. No children, no work just relaxing.
Told mostly from Claire's point of view this creepy tale evolved into a mystery of who will survive.
From the moment her minivan dies in the middle of a forest the scary news starts.
Then people started dying.
Just the thought of being lost and stranded in the woods terrified me.
There is a small part of the story told by someone else, not Claire.
I can't say much because it's a thriller. I can say, like her other books, it's written in short quick chapters that keep the story moving along quickly.
Like most mysteries and thrillers I tried and failed to figure this one out.
A great way to spend an afternoon or evening and A one sitting read like all of her books are.
Thank you Net Galley the publisher and author for this opportunity.
4 stars highly recommended

when i first started reading this book, it did not feel like a thriller book and then once i got in the book, i could not put it down i had no theories that made sense and the anonymous point of view was so chilling but so good and the reveal actually had me staring at the wall. i have read a lot of thrillers and usually i can figure out a majority of the twists but this book just had me just like i said i gasped it was so good and like the end just so good highly recommend and it was so fast paced like i was 22% in and then i binged the rest of it 4/5⭐️

Just give me all the Frieda McFadden novels. Another fun rollercoaster of a read! I am a sucker for a killer among friends and this did not disappoint. Freida had me guessing up until the reveal and man did she get me. I think I caught myself maybe a good three or four times breathing heavily or even holding my breath when reading an intense seen. Read this if you ever need a fun, juicy thriller!

One by one was another hit by my favourite thriller authors Frieda McFadden! Her easy to read and addictive writing style made the book impossible to put down, finishing all 280 pages in a matter of hours.
I love the old school thriller style of people going missing one at a time and the new twists she added along the way!
The book took so many twists and turns that I had no idea where the story would end!
Definitely up there with my favourites of her novels so far I would 100% recommend it to anyone who’s looking for a quick and captivating standalone to break up their usual reading.

This was such a fun read! Having devoured 12 books from Freida before, I was excited to dive into this one, and it didn't disappoint in terms of pure entertainment.
The twisty plot kept me guessing, not predictable I did not see the twist coming. Every time I read her books the characters drive me insane but I can’t quit reading the book lol. Definitely can’t wait for her new books this year I’ve missed her fast paced writing style since Coworker.
Thank you to NetGalley for this ARC!
