In this suspenseful thriller, Claire Matchett’s is stranded with her friends on the way to a vacation, Deciding to hike to their hotel, they get lost in the woods. As they dive into the woods deeper, one by one they start disappearing. The tension builds throughout the story, but unfortunately the build is a little too slow for me and the ending too rushed. While the story is entertaining, it lacks that edge-of-your-seat quality. I rate it 3 out of 5 stars.

Mmmm not my favorite book by Freida but it was still very bingeable. I enjoyed the short chapters and there was definitely plot twists I wasn’t expecting. I literally did not see it coming with who I thought “anonymous” was. *gasp
But the negatives were that I thought the overall plot was whack and there wasn’t a whole lot of attention to detail. The writing felt very simplistic & repetitive. Also I’ve started to notice that a lot of her books have the cheating trope, which I abhor.
It’s a good book to just mindlessly read but I’ve definitely read better thrillers.

Once again, Freida has delivered an unputdownable thriller that will keep you guessing until the very end! If you’re interested in thrillers, murder mysteries, or any other Freida McFadden book, this should go on your list.

I'm a pretty big fan of F.M. books and I knew that going into it that I'd love her writing style. My streak of loving every F.M. book I've read has continued.

Freida McFadden never disappoints! Such a quick and fast paced read! It kept me guessing the whole time and always made you uneasy. Definitely recommend!

Read this one very quickly, It was a good book, but not my favorite of Freida's novels. It's a good plot twist that I didn't see coming. I did like who Anonymous ended up being, I suspected every male character at some point but not Lindsey.
Thank you, NetGalley and Poisoned Pen Press for my copy, all thoughts are my own.

As always, Freida is the queen of twists. I avoided reading this one by her because it’s not my kind of plot normally. I hate the one by one dying type books. When I saw this on NetGalley I decided to give it a try. I’m used to Freida’s style so I of course knew a twist would be coming but I didn’t guess it. Even though it’s not a plot I’d normally like, Freida made it so suspenseful I found myself having trouble putting the book down. This is a great book to read if you’re in the mood for a scare.

Great, fast read
I am not sure if this book is short (I read an e-copy) or if it was just that fast-moving, but I finished it I. A few hours. The plot is very good. Claire is married to her college sweetheart. She is also having an affair with her husband’s best friend. When Claire, her husband, the friend, his wife, and Claire’s best friend and college roommate (and her kind of jerky boyfriend) set off on a week-long trip to a remote lodge, things go really wrong.
There were a few things that if I had stopped to really think about them would have rung a little off, but I didn’t. I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Highly recommended.

First I want to thank NetGalley, Poisoned Pen Press and Freida McFadden for my ARC of One By One.
Freida McFadden never disappoints and this is no exception! I read this book in less than a day. I loved the anonymous chapters, they had me trying to figure out who it was till the end! The characters were not really likable, for good reasons. It was a fast paced, easy read. Definitely didn’t see the end coming but then again I never see the ending of ANY of her books coming! If you’re looking for a thriller that will keep you guessing this the end, this book for you.

I could not put this book down! Literally, I finished it in one day, because it was so good! From the first chapter, I thought it was thrilling and engaging. I was definitely shocked by the end!

One by one is a twisty suspense story about three couples who go on a vacation together. But with Freida McFadden things are never what they seem, and this vacation is about to take a deadly detour.
Claire and Noah are married with two children, but their marriage is on the rocks. Noah is hoping this trip will be what they need, while Claire secretly got them separate rooms and is about to inform him their marriage is over. Jack and Michele are also married with their own troubles, Michele is married to her career and although Jack wants out of the marriage, his wife being a divorce attorney is counter productive. And last but not least is Lindsey, Claire's former college room mate and godmother to her children. Claire introduces them to Warner, her surgeon boyfriend whom she is head over heals with.
One their way to the cabin Claire's mini van breaks down, they have no choice but to walk the rest of the way before it gets dark. But the closer they get the further they seem as they find they are walking in circles. Things aren't adding up, and it seems like someone is messing with them when slowly, one by one, they begin to die.
I love Freida McFadden, her twisty psychological thrillers never disappoints and this one was no exception. I especially enjoyed how she used the anonymous point of view to unfold the story. I thought I had it all figured out but I was dead wrong.
Thank you NetGalley for this ARC in exchange for my honest review.

I was given this book to read and review I'm anticipation to the paperback release by Poisoned Pen Press on April 2nd.
This is the fourth Freida McFadden book I've read so far this year and this is by far the most disappointing one.
The others grabbed my attention right away and I wanted to keep reading because I wanted to know what happened. This one, however, was so slow and I wanted to put it down and read something else.
Right away, I knew someone in the group was the one behind the disappearances, but I did t know who.
I didn't particularly like the "Anonymous" chapters because they generally let me know what was going to happen in the next chapters. (Example, "Anonymous" talks about learning how to fire a gun, and in the following chapters, a gun appears and then someone gets shot.)
I've read enough thrillers and mysteries to know when a couple is involved and they have children, authors typically don't kill off both parents. So I knew who the survivors would be at the end.
I give this one 3.5 stars. Definitely not my favorite by McFadden. One By One by Freida McFadden is available on Kindle Unlimited now. Get a paperback copy on Tuesday from Poisoned Pen Press.
Thank you to NetGalley and Poisoned Pen Press for the digital copy in exchange for my honest review.

Well, I read this all in one sitting - it's a fast paced, popcorn thriller that had me turning the pages.
Claire, her husband and two other couples are set to go on a relaxing retreat away, but their mini van breaks down in the middle of nowhere. With no phone signal, a lack of food and water, they all set off to try and find the inn using a map and compass. Things quickly take a sinister turn, as members of their group keep disappearing.. one by one they fall - but is it an animal hunting them, or a human.

Love a popcorn thriller that I can binge in one sitting. This definitely kept me on my toes as to who the culprit would be, along with red herrings here and there. I definitely didn't expect the ending!
I liked the anonymous chapters where we don't know who the narrator was - I kept seeing if I could link it to the others on the trip, but I turned out well and truly wrong!
Some things were quite unbelievable to me, like not just following the road they just drove up on and getting signal that way, or following the stream when they found water... but I still found it fun. However there's one bit I can't get over, and that's Claire asking the group how she is meant to wee in the woods.. I did sit and say 'what?' Outloud at that!
Overall though, a quick, easy and fast paced read! Thank you to NetGalley and Poisoned Pen Press for this copy. This review is voluntary.

Another Frieda McFadden crazy twist, fast paced book on my belt! I had so much fun reading this one!
We follow Claire Jennings who's having trouble in her marriage. We find her, her husband, and a group of friends on a trip where they eventually get lost and things start to get weird... people in this group start disappearing one by one.
McFadden never fails to keep the plot moving and my heart POUNDING. This was a quick read that I read it in 24 hours I could not put it down. She killed it, once again!

I am a huge Freida McFadden fan! This is another twisty, suspenseful and fast paced thriller. Claire, her husband and a group of friends decide to take a vacation at a luxurious hotel in the woods. On the way, their van breaks down. Now they'll have to walk the rest of the way through the woods, and they end up lost. Then, you guessed it, one by one, they start disappearing.
While reading, you will see how each of them could have a motive to commit the murders. I kept changing my mind on who I thought was guilty. This one grabbed me right from the beginning. Really enjoyed this one!
Out April 2.
Thank you to the publisher and netgalley for the gifted copy. All opinions are my own. My review will be posted on Instagram, Bookbub, Goodreads, and Amazon once it publishes.

Another quick Freida read that kept me up late. I finished the book basically in a 24 hour span, and felt empty and lonely afterwards, thinking about my next Freida read, knowing I have already read half of her books. One by One... Claire and her husband take a trip with two other couples who are their friends. Their car breaks down and they get stuck in the Colorado mountains. They wander around and get lost trying to find the resort cabin they booked. Someone is trying to take them out (fatally) one by one. Plot twists, frustrating characters which is, I believe, part of the plan by Freida's devious mind, will have you wondering who done it and who you want to be next (HAHAHA).

I am new to the work of Freida McFadden, and this book did not disappoint. One thing I have learned is that there is always twists, turns, and some sort of moth dropping plot twist in her books. Although this was not a 5 star read for me, which is hard for most books to achieve, it was 4 stars and I would recommend to others!

I can always count on Freida McFadden for a fun read. I roll my eyes a lot while reading her books due to the writing, but I'm always entertained. This one was just somewhat entertaining. I found myself bored a lot. Not one likable character could be found in the pages 🤣🤷♀️
Thanks to NetGalley, Poisoned Pen Press, and the author for an ARC of this book.

I absolutely devoured this book! Such a good and quick thriller! McFadden never fails to throw in a twist or two that you do NOT expect! This was the eighth book I read by her and I am looking forward to reading them all!

Freida McFadden is a QUEEN of thriller novels. I did not realize at first that this was not a new novel but a republishing of the book released in 2020. As usual, Freida killed it, and I get too excited the more she comes out with novels. Keep. Them. COMING.
