Historical romance? I'm in.
FMC's family tends to adopt, save, kidnap (or any combination of the 3) an animal on their way to London for the Season? The Bennington family (5 daughters, a son, and an aunt who acts as chaperone for the girls) has done this before. This time, their daughter Julie, the last one of the Bennington sisters, will not disappoint. I'm in!
MMC is friends with the husbands of the other Bennington sisters. So even though he was not looking for a wife, he is doing so now to understand how his friends prefer the company of their wives to boxing and other outdoor activities.
FMC is also a poet, so she believes she will marry one of them... even if that leads to a life not as good as she has at the moment. Imagine how confused she feels when she looks at MMC and he doesn't have any of her requirements for a future husband, but a great physique.
I had so much fun reading this book! I hope to grab the last one soon.

Who Needs a Marquess When They Can Have a Poet?

This is a lighthearted Regency romcom with a whimsical tone. While there were moments that made me smile, I found the pacing slow at times and struggled to stay fully engaged. That said, I seem to be in the minority. If you're fond of clean Regency romances with quirky characters and a touch of absurdity, Write for Me, Marquess might be just the kind of muddle you enjoy.

I wanted to love this book, but found that it was a bit chaotic at times. I love comedy in my HR, but I just could not stay focused on this one.

Their chemistry is palpable, and their evolving relationship is both heartwarming and believable. The supporting characters add depth and charm, particularly Penelope’s quirky family and Ashford’s loyal friends.

I had a difficult time getting into this book. I had not read the other books in the series, which probably would have helped me.

Write For Me, Marquess by Kate Archer is a fifth in the series. This is a bit of opposites attract romance comedy.

Good read. I liked the characters. The dialogue was good. I felt like the storyline moved fast. It was a good romance- I enjoyed it!

This was a wonderful story. There was a lot of wonderful laughable moments. There is some intrigue and deception. I love the action and silliness that the characters find themselves drawn up into. I truly enjoyed getting to know the vast array of characters. I absolutely’ lub it to pieces’.

What a story! I couldn’t put this one down. You are going to adore this book. Kate Archer is new to me and I am hooked. This is book 5 in the series but it can be read alone, however I will be finding the rest to read too. In this story Juliet Bennington is the youngest daughter out of 5 sisters. It is time for her to find a husband. She has a few requirements though, because she is a poetess she must marry a poet. Now there is Rupert Doncaster who is the Marquess of Hamill. Full of adventure and athletic he is always on the move. Until Juliet causes him to stop. They are drawn to each other. While she thinks she should marry the poet, Rupert knows they are meant to be. They can’t deny the draw to each other. This fun adventure is full of some twists, great wit and undeniable passion. You will not want the story to end. I can’t even begin to tell you how amazing this story was. So unexpected. I love the story and the amazing characters. This will be one for my bookshelf to read again and again. I would give 100 stars for sure with the adventure. Enjoy.

The Westmont- Bennington family are nuts. No. They are crazy and God bless Rupert for wanting to participate with them. I loved the humor emphatically. Julia, God bless her and her most interesting righteous acts. The woman has a big heart and that’s one of the admirable qualities that attracts Rupert to her. Like I said God bless his soul. Now with Rupert, I don’t believe Julia could see the forest before the trees. Her mind is so wrapped up in her most recent Ode’s. Do you think that was an advantage for Rupert? Well the book was a fantastic read. I enjoyed the entertainment and the laugh out loud humor from the help. Mainly the butler Timpleton. It’s his many comical actions, dialogue and or thoughts that put this book over the top.

This is book 5 in the series, A Very Fine Muddle, and can easily be read as a standalone. I have read most of the books in this series and have enjoyed them and this one also did not disappoint. Juliet is the fifth daughter of the Earl of Westmont and it is now her turn to find a match. She's not looking for a title or riches. She is a poetess, and her only requirement in a potential husband is that he also be a poet. Be that as it may, she can't help but be drawn to Rupert, Marquess of Hamill. He is a member of the Queen's Knights and is very physically fit, but poetry is not really his thing. However, despite th strong attraction Juliet has to Rupert, she can't contemplate a match with him because he doesn't fulfill her one and only requirement. They have nothing in common, so how can they have a future together? She does have another option, however, with Mr. Roundbat. Although, he is not nearly as appealing as the athletic marquess, there is also something not quite right about him. Rupert then sets out to win Juliet's heart and also comes across some valuable information which just might help him seal the deal.
This was a delightfully fun and entertaining addition to the series. As with the other books, I found myself smiling and quite often laughing as I read. The banter and dialogue between the characters was witty and on-point, and the character were well-crafted and I thoroughly enjoyed all their interactions. Ms Archer does an amazing job of bringing wit, humor, and romance all together to create a great story. Looking forward to reading the next one!

Loved this (hopefully not final) book in the Bennington series. Each of the Bennington sisters has had a specific type of spouse in mind all their lives and up to this point each have wound up with their polar opposites! Enter Lady Juliet, youngest of the Bennington sisters and last to make her Debut. She is looking for a literary type and couldn't have found the complete opposite if she tried. Rupert, Marquess of Hamill, has been actively on the go his whole life. He had been a spousal possibility for her older sister who was looking for a sporting type of man but married another. These two should not work, but the attraction has been there since meeting, and they somehow do. Loved this one as much as the previous books. Hope we'll be seeing the only Bennington brother find his match soon.

I totally enjoy the family dinners where the whole family has gathered together. The Earl of Bennington's sons-in-law truly love their wives and join in with the Season's planning.
This story is about the youngest daughter, Juliet, and her first season. Juliet has her heart set on wedding a poet, but Rupert Doncaster, Marquess of Hamill works to change her mind.
I can't wait to read Darden's story in April.
I would also love Miss Mayton to have her own love story told.

Write for Me Marquess by Kate Archer sees the last Bennington daughter off to London for her season. The trip only took nine days, which was a record in brevity for the Benningtons, and Juliet only adopted one creature along the way: a rooster, Marvelous Martin, that she saved from a cockfight. He was frightened to be outdoors at night so he found a home in the servant’s quarters. Juliet was a poet; her poems were brief, four lines, but plentiful. Upon meeting William Wordsworth in an inn, she commented that maybe he used so many words because “word” was in his name? She was looking to marry; she wanted to marry a poet, even if it meant living in a garret with him. And she met one on her first foray to Almack’s: Mr. Roundbat. True, he was not handsome, nor did he have good manners, but he was a poet. She also met her brother’s friend, Lord Hamill who was a Corinthian. Yes, he was handsome, and huge, and danced well, but he was not a poet. Since everyone outside the family agreed that her poetry was not very good, his attempt, as bad as it was, pleased her. He wanted to please her.

Hamill was a good man. He was a marquess and would one day be a duke. He was in constant motion, as were his parents, arising before sunup to run and following his run he took horseback rides and boxing matches. He ate several extra meals a day to fuel all his movement. He was a darling. His sister, Theo, thought so. But, could he get Juliet to see it? The Benningtons were a quirky family, but lovable. The four older sisters had made love matches, albeit in strange and interesting ways. The husbands and the Bennington butler, Tattleton, all spent a lot of time rolling their eyes, and making sarcastic comments and were as one in their dislike of Roundbat. It is a totally entertaining book as have been the earlier ones in the series. I look forward to watching as their brother, Darden, finds a woman to love. Thanks, Kate Archer, for making my day!

Can a poetess find her beloved even if he does not understand her poems? Write for Me, Marquess is a romantic romp I thoroughly enjoyed. The thoughts of Juliet alone kept me riveted to the story. Rupert is the embodiment of a virile hero. Expectations and desire go together in this unputdownable romance.

Let’s start with the characters. Juliet is an intelligent, emotional soul who is yearning to find her poet. She has a gift for words and is a poetess in her own right. When she first meets Rupert, her heart beats a staccato. He’s handsome, athletic, and a marquess. The only problem is he’s not a poet. Poor Juliet. What’s a poetess to do? I connected with her right away. Her inner thoughts plus her dialogue are such fun. I can’t remember the last time I laughed so much while reading a historical romance.

Rupert is a whirling dervish of activity. He’s always on the move and that is part of his charm. When he meets Juliet, it’s love at first sight. He doesn’t understand her poetry but he tries, hard. He’s a swoon-worthy hero any readers will enjoy. Any man who can put up with the antics of Juliet’s family is a keeper.

This is my first chance reading Kate Archer. She’s got a true gift for writing unforgettable historical romances. Her writing draws the reader in. The comedic narration and dialogue are on-point and feel natural. There is nothing forced here. It’s pure joy for any romance reader. I can’t wait to read more from Kate Archer.

Juliet’s Turn!

I’ve been waiting for Juliet love story from the first book in the series. I have laughed at her witty poems throughout every book in the series and I just knew she would deserve someone very special.

Rupert Doncaster was Juliet’s person, he wasn’t a reader, he wasn’t a poet, he was an outgoing person who thrived on activities but for Juliet he would be what she wanted!

A fun entertaining cat and mouse chase into love with lots of witty moments. I love how her sisters and their husbands are included in the storyline which makes it quite special to revisit their lives and the interaction within this book and of course one special character is always added to drive Tattleton up the wall.

A Poetess dreamer and a sexy Corinthian, a perfect match!

I just love this author’s style of writing, always a beautiful love story with lots of witty moments.

Write for Me, Marquess by Kate Archer is the fifth book in the series called A Very Fine Muddle. I have not read the prior books and did not feel that I was missing any information. To be honest, I am now going to go back and read them. Mostly because I think they would be humorous with hijinx.

Juliet Bennington is the fifth daughter to make her come out. Each of her sisters had come before her and found their forever after love. Juliet was a poetess. She determined that her life should be with someone who lived and loved poetry as well. She thought she wouldn’t care about money but would care about living a fulfilled life writing poetry.

Rupert Doncaster, Marquess of Hamill is always on the move. He rarely sits still and loves to try all sorts of activities with his family. He is not ready for Juliet, but is smitten with her. He is finding himself trying to find ways to be with her, despite some other suitors. He is sure that he is the right person for her.

The story line was fun. I enjoyed the characters. Juliet’s sisters and their spouses are fun, but the aunt Miss Mayton really was a character! I am looking forward to reading the next novel about the brother, and I am going to find the prior novels to enjoy the sisters’ debuts. Write for Me, Marquess by Kate Archer was a fun read.

Being the youngest and most stubborn, this story is fun, amusing and offers lots of giggles. The characters are engaging, the family members full of love and advice. But Juliet must grow into her own and see the world a bit wider around her. When she does, is it a still the same desire or has it changed? Reading this engaging story will be the only way to find out.

Rupert Doncaster, Marquis of Hamill, was up on his feet before he’d been in the world ten months and he is the ultimate Corinthian, and he rarely slows down, though a glimpse of Juliet Bennington has stopped him in his tracks.
Juliet is powerfully drawn to the athletic marquis, but she regretfully admits they can have no future. On the other hand, Mr. Roundbat is not nearly as nice to look at, but he is a poet, even going so far as to write poems in the Japanese style. That is where her destiny lies.
Another well written slightly over the top romance. I liked both Rupert & Juliet but struggled with them actually loving each other, yes the physical attraction was there & they spent time together but I didn’t feel that all important chemistry. It was Tattleton who made me continue reading. It was a fun, entertaining read but it didn’t grab me & I delved into it over a few days rather than devouring it in under a day

What an incredibly fun, clever, and entertaining read this book was! I can't even count how many times I laughed out loud at the dry humor in this book.

Juliet has a consuming love of poetry and her identity as a poetess - despite being quite bad at it. Her family is every bit as delusional as she is and supports her in her poetic endeavors. Rupert doesn't care a whit for poetry, but he DOES care for Juliet from the moment he sees her. Both of them must explore and expand their horizons as they charm each other.

Kate Archer does a fantastic job with her compelling, quirky characters. Even the side characters are well-developed and lend so much to the story.

I read a lot of historical romance and this one ranks right up at the top of my list.
