I fell in love with this book! It is one of my favorite books now! The author did an amazing job helping me feel all the feelings and emotions while reading. There is some spice but it’s not overbearing for those that don’t care for it. I will be recommending this book to those that I know!

This book was very cute. I loved it from start to finish. I couldn't put it down. I wanted to read it in one sitting. I love the way the story flows. I especially loved the addition of autism. I related to that as my child is autistic. Details were just enough to know what was going on but not overbearing. I will definitely recommend this book to my friends and family!

"Catch and Keep" is a romance novel by Erin Hahn -- an author whose books I usually enjoy, but this one fell a little flat for me. This book centers around Maren, who is proposed to by her longtime boyfriend and promptly vomits. Embarrassed and knowing she needs to break things off with him, she runs out of town and back to one of her favorite destinations as a child: a lake in northern Wisconsin. She was actually left an old cabin up on the lake and decides to fix it up while she figures out what to do with her life. She's surprised to discover that her new neighbor is Josiah, who she had a crush on as a child/teenager. But things have changed for Josiah -- after his time in the military, he's now divorced and a single dad.

I enjoyed reading about the bond Maren developed with Josiah's children, especially the little girl with autism. I thought that Maren needed to work on herself a little bit longer before jumping in to a relationship, and I didn't like how overbearing her brother was. Overall, this was a good book but was missing a little something for me. I'll still read the next book by Hahn though! Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC. All opinions are my own.

This book was a breath of fresh air during my time reading high fantasy books. I needed something light and cozy, and this book delivered it.

"Catch and Keep" was a very easy book to read and kept me hooked throughout the entire book. Even though the first meeting of the protagonists in this book felt a little off, I loved the development of their relationship afterward. Maren felt like a character I could totally relate to, and I loved it. As a love interest, Josiah didn't blow me away, but like a parent? I loved him nearly as much as I loved his kids.

A single dad and best friend's brother delightful story that will have you giggling and kicking your feet. Highly recommended.

Finding Your Catch
WoW.. I had an absolutely wonderful time immersed in this story. It engaged my emotions and yes the smiles and chuckles and the tears made their appearances time and again. There are a couple of scenes with a bit more detail than I care to read but easily skipped over. I only put this story down when my eyes were so tired they would not focus and my eyelids refused to un-blink. Happy Reading ! !

Easily one of my favorite books of 2024, I was hooked (pun intended 😉) from the very beginning and could not put this book down.

Maren and Joe have known each other their whole lives, but it’s not until some crappy (pun intended again!) life circumstances throw themselves into one another’s worlds again that they’re able to see beyond their youth ideas of each other and really know the other person. Turns out, they may be the missing pieces to each other’s story.

This book tackles dating in your 30s with real job and life responsibilities, parenting children with disabilities, allowing yourself a second chance at happiness, and navigating real adult relationships - friendship and family. As a 30 something myself, it was refreshing to read a “real life” scenario love story! Highly recommend!

Within the pages of <i>Catch and Keep</i>, Maren, our heroine, finds herself on a journey of self-discovery and love in what might sound cheesy, but is anything but!

After turning down an ugly proposal and high-tailing it back to her happy place - a Northern Wisconsin lake - Maren is set to fix up the bait-shop her old fishing partner left her in his will, but just down the shore is her brother’s best friend. Josiah, said brother’s best friend, is a single father of two who had to find himself after leaving the military and divorce, and now runs his family’s lake resort…that just so happens to need a new fishing guide for the summer.

There’s very little history between Maren and Joe - only that from childhood and an age-gap - but it’s enough for Hahn to build their relationship on in a believable way as both of them continue to find their place in their new/ish lives. There’s also Maren’s older brother - Liam - who <s>can catch these hands</s> stirs up the proper amount of drama with a brother’s best-friend trope - overbearing brother, meaning well, being obnoxious - but that isn’t the main conflict. In fact, the conflict here is the decision to choose a life path, and I loved how Hahn wrote all of that - low-stakes third-acts are my favorite, thank you.

I will add that Joe’s kids are ADORABLE. I LOVE THEM!!!! As Maren fell in love with Anders and Lucy, so did I as a reader. Watching the four of them become a family seamlessly and then getting to bask in it was SO HEARTWARMING.

I also want to note that Lucy is on the spectrum, and this is never an issue or a plot device - her diagnosis is handled gently and authentically (in my opinion with little experience IRL). There was some great on-page coping and parenting that read well to me and I enjoyed seeing the POV of the parent in this case.

I think many readers will enjoy this book, and even if you’re not a Lake Girlie (I’m a Mountain Girlie), you’ll enjoy the setting and gentle love story.

Thank you to NetGalley and St. Martin's Griffin for the ARC in exchange for an honest review!

This was a cute, light read. The 3rd in a series about....amazing, beautiful women? Shelby, Lorelai, and Maren are all beautiful, confident, and talented. Shelby and Lorelai got their HEA's in previous books and this time it's Maren's turn. She's an amateur fishing prodigy turned park ranger who is running away from a bad relationship. She ends up at the lake where she spent her childhood summers and runs into her brother's best friend, Josiah, who is now a hot, single dad to two kids.

I liked the single dad angle for Josiah, and also liked that one of his kids had autism. These are representations that are rarely seen in romances, but are so refreshing. There's a weird subplot about Maren's former life as a fishing YouTuber that I could have done without. Overall, this was entertaining and enjoyable.

Thank you to NetGalley and St. Martin's Press for the opportunity to read and review an ARC of this book.

I absolutely love when books have that small town feel and this book gave me that, I LOVED both characters! This book has a few tropes in it, single dad being my favorite, I can never resist it. The representation of autism in this book so much I appreciate so much! It’s always the details that matter to me! I love his kids so much they are so sweet! The characters had such good chemistry they had such a healthy I was in awe of them. I do love the little amount of drama we did get in this book! Thank you for the advanced readers copy.

Erin Hahn has a knack for writing romance with heart, and realness, and layers. I love how she connects the casts of her novels and loved to see some old faves make "supporting cast" appearances as our main characters worked through their issues and found their way home to each other. Definitely recommend reading her other books with those supporting characters (Shelby/Cameron in Built to Last, Lorelai/Huck in Friends Don't Fall in Love). However, Catch and Keep could be read as a standalone.

I really liked Maren and Joe, loved the kids and family members, and most of all the dog. This is a slow burning, breath of fresh air.

This book resonated with me on a personal level for multiple reasons. The Northwoods in Wisconsin and the culture of fishing and just plain being outdoorsy is in my blood. I'm a WI girl born and raised and Erin did an amazing job of bringing Northwoods living to the page.

The story itself was an amazing read from start to finish and I love the multiple tropes that came into play here. Brother's best friend, single dad, small town romance, she hit the nail on the head on all counts! For me, Anders and Lucy stole the book through a lot of it. Between Anders dealing with feelings of abandonment as a young child and depictions of Lucy's autism, Erin also hit the nail on the head here. Between personal experiences in my childhood and as a mother, the way she wrote the children's characters was detailed, realistic, and heart wrenching. I was able to put myself in each character's mind while reading every page.

The romance between Maren and Joe felt incredibly natural in both its pace and the challenges they faced along the way. I thoroughly enjoyed how their romance began as more of a friendship before blossoming into more and when the spice came, it did not disappoint!

I will definitely be adding Erin to my must read author list in the future!

Erin Hahn always seems to be a winner at my library. I loved the setting especially- the upper Midwest doesn't get a lot of love, so I really appreciated all the local call-outs!

Four Stars! Thank you NetGalley for an advanced copy of Catch and Keep by Erin Hahn.

This was a sweet read that really grabs your heart. Sweet characters you fall in love with instantly. Maran and Joe(Josiah) were both so good together. Add in the most adorable kids and you have the recipe for a sweet romance that makes the heart melt. I enjoyed this book throughly. Would recommend to any romance reader.

I'm a big fan of certain tropes, and I'm not ashamed of that in the least. This is a brother's best friend, known since childhood, single dad, need a fresh start book. HOWEVER, this book is a breath of fresh air in the things that are different.

One of the children is autistic, and this is portrayed in such a beautiful way. This isn't a poor me or burdensome thing, but a child who can thrive in the right enviroment.
Maren has been fishing since she was a child and is one of the best. The role of the more outdoorsy person always seems to belong to the male character and I kind of loved that he was bad at fishing.
Josiah is what a father should be. He knows where he messed up in the past, and he knows what is best for his children. He might be one of my favorite and most realistic male characters I've read in a while.
Maren's brother, Liam, is a character I wanted to punch so many times. While her two best friends are so suportive.

Overall, I loved this book.

This is my first book by Erin Hahn & let me just say I think I’ve found a new author that I love!

After a ‘proposal gone wrong,’ Maren retreats to her childhood lake to spend some time fixing up the bait shop that was left to her by a family friend. There she runs into Joe, a childhood family friend. Joe is all grown up, is recently divorced, and has two kiddos he is caring for. Joe also happens to be Maren’s brother’s best friend. This book was sweet (& a bit spicy) and gave me all the summer romance feels I was looking for.

Thanks to NetGalley & the publishers for this ARC. This book is released October 15th - definitely add it to your list!!

At thirty-three, Maren Laughlin's just turned down her boyfriend’s proposal, walked away from her decade-long position as a park ranger, and returned to her childhood vacation spot in Northern Wisconsin to accept her inheritance: a decrepit waterfront bait shop. Which just happens to be next door to her brother's best friend and his kids.

Josiah Cole has made some missteps in his life, but he's learning to navigate post divorce and single dad life along with running his family's northern woods resort. Maren was always the younger sister but now he's noticing she's grown up.

Things between Maren and Joe are easy. So easy, they’re fully immersed in the middle before they even decide to begin. It’s not a question of should they, but rather can they make it last?

My thoughts: I loved this book! Maren and Joe were such likeable and relatable characters, I never want characters to be perfect so showing the flaws is a plus for me. I enjoyed the moments with them alone as well as with the kids. I don't always love the brother's best friend trope but I thought this one was very well done. I wish there had been a little more information about Marens past with the fishing channel, more in depth discussion. I also thought more could've been done with the Bryce storyline but maybe that's because I enjoy a good thriller type book too. I will be recommending this book when it comes out!

My review will be on goodreads and posted to Instagram closer to the release date!

I really enjoyed this book. Gave me such happy good vibes throughout. The characters are perfect you just want the best for all of them. I docked one star because there was one part of the storyline that I felt needed a bit more developing and I was waiting most of the book for something to happen that never fully did. Otherwise, loved the story, the setting and everything !! Such a cozy read for the fall and winter
