The beginning of the book had me thinking I was going to get an enemy to lover story. Then within a few chapters, it becomes instant love story. I had a feeling that I missed out on something. Not sure what.

Thank you NetGalley, the publisher and author for the opportunity to read this book for my honest review. All opinions expressed are my own.

I straight up did not like this. I knew from the jump that I wasn't going to enjoy this author's writing and that made it difficult to continue. I don't like how the writing felt like a stream of consciousness instead of a narrative.

I love a good rom-com and this story did not disappoint! I feel like so many Rom-Coms are really just the same though this one did have a different story then the usual. It was very funny and thankfully not a slow burn those can get so annoying. I hope to see more from these characters especially Nate's family they were so funny.

I loved this small town romance. It was an easy, fast paced read that dealt with some tough themes throughout. It gave me Unfortunately Yours by Tessa Bailey vibes.

It had the right amount of spice. It was fun, entertaining and I wanted to bang Shelby and Nathan’s heads together at times. However, the whole enemies to lovers trope was the best in this.

I wanted a bit more from the writing style, I felt at times in lacked and was very YA. I wanted more for it to be more ‘adult’… Does that make sense?

Overall, it was a good, spicy read which I did enjoy. Thank you to @netgalley, Harper Collins and Catherine Robertson for allowing me access to this ARC.

If you are into insta-love this is your book.

Corkscrew You is a fun and fast read, even thought it touches some hard themes, it's easy to read and to emphasize with the characters and their stories. However, I was expecting a bigger rivalry between the main characters, that I think only lasted for 10 pages, which was a shame because I think the plot had everything to give us that trope.

I'm not 100% why this book has such low reviews - It's super cute with a consistent plot and great characters.

A small town romance in a quaint California town with wineries and a fancy hotel -- Shelby Armstrong is trying her best to keep her family's winery going and accepts JP as an investor & his condition that Nathan Durant be the business manager of the winery. Neither character makes a good impression on the other despite how attracted they are to each other. They are opposites - Nate is determined, organized, and thinks of the profit for the business while Shelby is creative, friendly, and thinks of the traditions of the business. But both are struggling with family obligations - which they could help each other with.

The story hinges on an insta-attraction/insta-love which causes jealousy and misunderstandings early in the books. If you aren't into insta-attraction, then this may not be the book for you.

There are a LOT of side characters (the MMC has 4 siblings, the FMC has 2 besties plus 3 male friends that get plenty of page time) -- which gives a ready made cast for future books -- and there is definitely going to be at least one more book. However, I loved all of the side characters. They were fun and their insight was amazing. I'm looking forward to a story about Chiara.

This was such a fun read. Just the right amount of spice. Would be a great beach read. It’s light and fun.

Great read, an enemies to lovers romance for Shelby and Nathan. I liked how it was told from both points of view, and also the setting on the winery. Looking forward to the next book in this series.

Unfortunately this book was not for me.

The writing style was lacking by a lot, in my opinion.
Not even just some parts, it started on page 1.

The love scenes were awkward and not what you'd expect to find in a romance book

I did skip around a lot.. there just was many things that made me dislike this one.

Shelby’s runs the family-owned vineyard with her Father. Flora Valley Wines has been their passion since Shelby was young. When her Father suddenly passes away, Shelby is left to pick up the pieces. She soon finds out that her Father was not the best at managing the finances. Her Mother and sibling have given a timeline until they will sell the vineyard.
Shelby knows that she needs help, so she turns to her father’s old friend. He hires Nate, a Columbia graduate with a business degree to run Flora Valley Wines.

For me this book scraped by to get two and a half stars. It had that rom-com feel in the beginning and started off cute, then just fell off for me. This book has Dual POV’s changing from Nate to Shelby. The MMC was a big problem for me. He is basically just a walking, talking jerk who decides, out of nowhere, that he's in love with Shelby. It was such a whiplash that it didn't make sense at all. They have a couple of conversations, in which he keeps thinking how terrible she is. At one point during one of their conversations (this is when I was over this book) he wishes he could hit her so hard she passed out and stopped talking. WHAT?!? The ending was cute, but they were portraid so YA that the spicy scenes felt ick.

Thank you to NetGalley and One More Chapter, UK for the advanced reader copy in exchange for my honest review. This title releases July 5th.

Such a fun premise....Nate is hired by an investor to help save Shelby's family's winery. In true enemies to lovers fashion, Shelby, of course is not on board with this. Instant attraction aside, the two don't really get off on the right foot.

Like others have said, I anticipated someone similar to Tessa Bailey's Unfortunately Yours, and this fell pretty far from what I was expecting.

A seemingly light hearted plot, close proximity workplace romance quickly was actually a very surface level, insta love, heavy subplots, informal writing and so many side characters with their own things going on that it was hard to keep track. Not to mention, there were things that felt glossed over when there should have been more time spent on certain subjects (background especially was missing for the scenario with the winery, and each of the characters) and the fact that this took place over the course of a couple week???

This was a quick read, perfect for summer, and while I am diving straight into Cam's story from here (and can't wait), there were too many things about this story that were lacking and it just wasn't for me.

Every single trope in this book was one that I love, however, the writing style left me disappointed and unable to really get invested in the story. The characters were just okay in my opinion, and I found it a bit annoying that Shelby refused to swear, and instead would use random words in place of said swears. It made the book feel a bit too juvenile. For that reason, I wouldn't recommend this book to my friends / followers.

I loved the idea of this book and love food/beverage related rom coms. This one was not a fit for me and I DNF'd just under 40%. The insta-love was a lot, but "boink-bonk" was far too much.

Happy PUB day! This book was cute! I loved the small town winery setting, that it was in dual POV, and the touches on grief. I normally love enemies to lovers but this “lovers” part just happened so fast. I did like a lot about this book though. Shelby and Nathan’s chemistry was def there. I also thought the spice was pretty good! Although I’m not sure if I will be eating key lime pie for a while 🤣 Overall this was a good summer read!

Thank you One More Chapter, HarperCollins UK, and NetGalley for the ARC of this book!

Unfortunately I didn't finish this book past the 37% mark. The writing was 95% internal dialogue with nothing seemingly happening. The extra 5% was between the 2 main characters but there were maybe only 4 or 5 instances where they actually interacted, yet he fell in love with her? Literally nothing happened for that to make sense, they'd barely spoken.

Also, I didn't like how the MMC described her friends as beautiful etc yet he didn't do that with the FMC, in fact he said she looked about 12 which was pretty creepy.

📚ARC Review 📚

Corkscrew You⭐️⭐️⭐️🌟

Trying to save her family’s winery after her father passed, Shelby is forced to bring in Nate, a savvy businessman, to help her out. The problem is Nate is all business, Type A and doesn’t want to fail at anything. Whereas, Shelby is quriky, bubbly and the small town’s sweetheart. Their personalities couldn’t be more different, but opposites do attract right?

This was a cute romcom! I like the dual point of view and both of the characters. I loved Shelby’s personality and how independent she is. Having to deal with grief of her father and a failing business, she stands strong. Her and Nate’s banter was funny and they balanced out each other well. My dislike would be how fast Nate fell for Shelby. Within the first few chapters, he was already “in love” with her. I wished that would have been slower. Overall, it was still a good!

This book just published, so be sure to check it out! Thank you to NetGalley and HarperCollins UK One Day for my advanced readers copy. This is my honest and voluntary opinion.

DNF at 100 pages, I just couldn't get into the writing style or connect with the characters.

Did not share on social since it was under 3 stars.

Shelby is struggling to keep her father's vineyard in business after his death and then her mother, who inherited the complete outfit, tired of the amount of work required to run the vineyard decides to sell. Shelby is forced to find financial backing and after a long struggle does find it - however it comes with a stipulation that she will have to work with a new business manager, Nate. With a clash of personalities things don't go well.......
I must admit that I struggled with this book, both main characters aren't particularly likeable, although I did warm to them as the story developed. There are also some very spicy scenes that I'm not always a fan of. I did persevere with reading and it did all start coming together, in particular the reason for Nate blowing hot and cold in his relationship with Shelby coming clear and the combination of cold business logic against an emotional attachment behind to find a balance. Worth a read, especially if you enjoy the spicy scenes, I would give this 3.5* rounded up to 4* after finishing the book.
I received an advance copy of this book from the publisher through Netgalley, however this did not influence my review of the book and I subsequently purchased it on release.
